As someone who is a BBQ snob having lived in the Midwest for a few years, I wasn't really impressed with this establishment. I partially blame myself for having ordered one of the most egregious combinations of meat and cheese ever concocted, a combination that is typically a home run. I ordered the Smokehouse Mac Lasagna, a nauseating amount of Mac and cheese and meat between lasagna noodles and smothered in cheese sauce. I ordered this because it says it was seen on TV, and I'd recommend to keep it exactly there, on tv and not on your plate. My gf got a brisket plate that was much better than the monstrosity I ordered. Definitely order that if you visit. The service was also not great, taking over 20 mins just to get our drinks. If you do decide to venture here and risk the Smokehouse Mac Lasagna, say your prayers and make sure you are fully stocked on Poo-Pourri. Unfortunately, because this was my only experience here, this was my takeaway. I'd recommend going for a more classic BBQ dish if you choose to visit. read more

The fatty brisket was amazing! It was so good with a nice smoke ring and good flavor. The pork and chicken had good flavor. The ribs were falling off the bone and definitely tasty. The sides were good. Corn bread was more like a corn muffin. The coleslaw was decent. The baked beans were ok. The Mac and cheese was yummy. Definitely the food was great. We got take out and it travelled well. We ate it about 30 min later and it was so good. My only concern was that the place was super packed and most guests were not wearing masks even before they ordered. I am not ready for indoor eating during COVID. Before we launch into this review let's just observe a moment if silence for the Seaford Palace which once occupied this location. Ok, now to our scheduled program. When I think of BBQ, I think of saucy meaty goodness. I ordered the BBQ Slider Sampler to get a little taste of everything. Granted my order was to go, but the sauce to meat ratio was not even close to being correct with not nearly enough sauce on my sliders. Yes, there was sauce on the side but my personal feeling was that I should not need to add additional sauce to my bbq unless I have some ungodly need to extra extra sauce. One good thing about the lack of sauce is it allowed me to evaluate the juiciness, or lack thereof, of the meats. Pulled pork and brisket appropriately moist. Chicken dry AF. BBQ chips absolutely no complaints, I ate them all. Husband got the loaded hog wild mac which he loved. The only complaint there is the sausage is vaguely described as "smoked sausage" and for whatever reason he thought it would be crumbled and it was more like a salami type of situation which is a little strange to be putting in mac and cheese but he ate it also could not have been that bad. Would not go out of my way to visit again but would be amenable to stopping for a meal if I was in the area for sure. read more

The restaurant is very welcoming inside. The food wasn't as good as I expected it to be after seeing so many people talk about how great the food is, but it's not bad either. Dang BBQ new to the south shore bringing a taste of what the original location in Islip [Suffolk county] has to these parts [Seaford], middle of the island [Nassau]. With a recent grand opening of this location, and a friend having an urge to satisfy a BBQ craving, what do they do??? Ask a foodie friend to tackle a try with them to see if it's the real deal BBQ. I happily took the challenge, a little FOMO maybe, but more the fact after scanning the first few reviews not wanting to pass up the hopes of potentially reversing some of the negative ratings that were already posted on long wait times and such. The journey begins on a Sunday evening at around 7pm, traditionally dinner rush timing from my Sunday night waitressing past ~ Best shift ever :) The wait for 2 adults was only a 15-20 minute estimate. This isn't bad for prime time arrival and being a BBQ joint. Everyone knows you are typically going to wait. Not to mention still new in the neighborhood so people are curious. This location from the exterior reminded me of a diner that was converted, maybe it was. Kinda gave their logo a bit more attention, which is good from a business perspective. It opened into a large open floor plan which is ideal for waitstaff to buzz around with large platters easily. No crazy booths or highhat tables just some good ole butcher block tables that I'm sure could be reorganized if need be. I did note that they had a long bar area along the back with a few TV monitors scattered throughout, so whether you are at the bar or at a table if you picked the right chair you had viewage. We were sat in less than 15-20mins, which earns a Star, along with its casual family friendly feel. After seated had a waiter eventually come up to us and say that he'd be right back to grab our order...Alrighty, but that didn't happen. Another say 5 minutes go by and Bryan whom ended up being our waiter, stated that he could help with the ordering and did. Decided to order an assortment of their wide selection, to get a real taste of what they had to offer. Personally as a consumer and from past professional restaurant employment, there are too many options. It makes it that much harder for the kitchen and staff not to have error/food cost waste and slowness. Nevertheless back to how it all tasted. The BBQ chips were a nice fresh start, just wished our Lemonade beverages that we ordered were out with it to wash them down sooner. Finally the Brisket & Bacon Empanada Appetizer comes out...not bad, but not great. All that know me, know I'm an empanada connoisseur and while they were super flavorful, sadly they were under cooked a touch. How I know their fryer oil was too hot/high in temperature...the outside was crisped nicely but the inside was a touch doughy :/ Also personally feel the side dipping sauce [BBQ Ranch] is unnecessary and adds nothing but extra calories, if consumed. It didn't add to the good juicy tasty contents, but rather cancelled it out. Then the mountain high loaded Hog Wild Macaroni and Cheese Skillet. Very impressive presentation and taste was alright, but wish it was easier to mix the contents more easily to evenly distribute the flavors throughout. The loaded ingredients were tasty, but wished the macaroni and cheese was a bit cheesier, as it was a bit drier than expected. The 2 meat BBQ platter was perfect enough to share after ordering the loaded Mac and Empanadas to split. The 1/2 BBQ chicken was the juiciest protein of the plate. The Smoked Sliced Brisket could have had a bit more moisture to it. I tried to figure out how they smoked it, but it was tough. It kept reminding me of the liquid smoke that bartenders add to beverages. An extra dipping sauce definitely needed and you can add one of the three sauces supplied on table caddy. Moving on to the sides, the sweet fries were worth it, the BBQ Baked Beans could have been better. Finally the cornbread was pretty decent, moist not dry but could be packed with more flavor. After trying all that and not being able to finish, naturally I would want to pack the extra to go. Sadly this time the amazing BBQ flavor we were hoping to find wasn't there, so check please. I know they also had a dessert menu, but I don't even know how people would have room after the large portions they serve. Maybe something to consider trying if you get just say an app or some wings and a drink. Nevertheless, I was hoping for more of that Big Bold BBQ taste, but was left with a mediocre experience with this location [now chain]. read more

I love this place. The food is good, atmosphere is cute, and prices are very reasonable. I usually get one of the platters (which comes with cheesy cornbread and 2 sides), but this time I got brisket tacos. The homemade chips they give you while you're waiting is also nice addition. For dessert, my boyfriend and I shared the candy shop shake. It was sooo good, but I definitely recommend sharing with someone else. After hearing that they may be shutting down, in an effort to try and help out a neighborhood business, we tried them out... unfortunately to our surprise, we walked in and did not have the A+ experience we had hoped for. After being seated for about 10 minutes, our waitress finally came by and said she will be right with us. (A couple next to us was seated and served their drinks right away) when the waitress eventually came back about another 10 minutes after that, she took our order and said I will be back with your drinks! But instead our appetizers came still with no drinks... one drink comes and we ask about the other two, and she then comes back with one drink, which is the wrong drink, so we have to ask her to fix this, then she does but still forgets one, so we ask for that and she brings something completely different. We are so unfortunately disappointed by the service and the food. Then the food finally came out cold and it was truly very awful, our sides came out tasting like they were made a few days ago. Came here on a Sunday afternoon, didn't know they offered bottomless brunch cocktails which include sangria, mimosas and beer. So since I just wanted to drink and eat my first 4 glasses were of nothing but champagne however after thag the server notified me that the manager said there needed to be at least a splash of OJ in it and she was very friendly about it. We ordered the burnt ends, wings and for my entree I got the ribs with chili and Mac and cheese. The wings were incredible! Soooo good, some of the best I've had. To say Dang BBQ is a great place is an understatement. Their menu is filled with beyond delicious items, and when you order anything, it comes perfectly prepared, just to your liking. This is not your average restaurant. The people who work there know what they are doing, and when they interact with the customers, it really makes you feel like you are at home, even if you are not at your actual house. The wings, burgers, and even their salads, are fantastic, and it is worth it for anything you buy. You can tell it is a great place if two of their menu items were featured on television. Honestly, I heard mixed things from a few people. But, being a big BBQ fan I still wanted to try it. I'm glad we did! Brought my family on a Saturday night and it was a great experience. They were very accommodating to our young kids. The service was awesome. Our server was very attentive and helpful. It seemed to the be case with the entire staff. Everyone just genuinely looked happy to be there. As for the food, again I'm a big BBQ fan and many places nearby are hit or miss. The bbq here was definitely a hit. I judge a place by their brisket, and Dang BBQ's brisket was spot on! Smokey, tender, perfect amount of fat. The sausage was surprisingly delicious as well. The ribs were maybe the only thing that I wasn't totally in love with, but still good none the less. Forgot to mention, we had wings for the appetizer and they were cooked well, with tasty sauces. The Alabama white sauce and Carolina gold sauces were so good as well. The server gave me a bunch to take home with the nice amount of leftovers we had. Dang, that was awful. I don't know who introduced them to BBQ, but this is not it. Not even close. It's equivalent to the Lloyds Ribs and Slop you get in the supermarket. Everything was over seasoned to the point of it being not good. I had such high hopes for this place, but sadly I was let down. The ribs were cooked well, and the slid off of the bone. But the Pulled pork was a soupy mixture of bbq sauce and some meat in it. On the plus side the shakes were pretty good, and the kids enjoyed them. You also label yourself as a bourbon bar, unless I missed something my thought of a bourbon bar would be more than 6 choices. My high school shop teacher had a better selection at his desk.
