Probably more like 3.5 stars but I'll round this one up since the service was terrific. Located in a strip mall at the corner of 107 & Hempstead Turnpike Jackie Reilly's is the quintessential neighborhood Irish pub. Good size bar, big dining room with some very comfy booths (bonus for a big guy like me) and a menu that's not too expansive but runs the gamut of standard pub far. Beer was cold & definitely fresh which is always a plus. Baked clams were hot and quite tasty - some people don't care for the chopped variety but I actually like them this way and they were very flavorful. Wing cravings were one of the main reasons I came - having seen a good review from The Wing Scout I gave them a go since I was in the area. Opted for the medium and the Thai Chili. The flavor was there, they were indeed crispy on the outside, but the internal cook was very inconsistent. Some were insanely dry, others perfectly juicy. It's a shame because the sauces were quite good but getting them with a mouthful of dry chicken took away from the experience as did not knowing what was to come on the next one. Maybe it's a day shift thing, who knows. I'd probaby give them another chance at a busier time to see if they can bring their A game or if the high mark wings were just for the social media exposure. read more

A random drive last week and that all it took. I spotted "Jackie Reilly's Bar & Grill" in the distance. So you know I had to find out if it's worth the trip. I had time so I decided today would be perfect. I had no issue parking because the lot was big. That works because inside has plenty of space. Outside, the façade of the is interesting. The top half looks like something out of the 90s, while the bottom half looks modern and new. But that doesn't take away from the beauty of the place. Inside is spacious and well organized. This is more of an upgrade for watching sports in my humble opinion. I waited to be seated, but no one was around so I just helped myself to a seat. The waitress who helped me was incredible. She was polite, funny and provided excellent service. My glass was never empty. I ordered the burger and fries because it's a staple at a sports bar and if I am to watch football here, I need a good meal. They took no time getting me my food, they put plenty of cheese (did I ever mention I love cheese). But that's about where the complements end. Some of the fries were crunchy and good, but alot of them seemed stale. I was shocked to try that many like that. Next was the burger. It too underperformed. The meat seemed different, and not in a good way. It was like they didn't use real beef. It tasted like freezer patties with less of a familiar flavor. I pulled off a small piece to make sure. I was right and very surprised. It wasn't the worst burger I've ever had, but it wasn't the best. If I do go back, I may just stick with the wings. Maybe next time, I should stop looking for new sports bars to watch. I have a list of the bars I visit when the Giants are good. read more

Delicious buffalo wings!!! They hit the mark on all levels. Big, crisp pieces, well covered by hot sauce (no bbq or ketchup in this!). Fresh crunchy celery and a big container of chunky blue cheese. Would not serve me FOOD because I was not 21. Asked for water and fries, but the manager told me and my friend they could not serve us food or show us a food menu because we are underage. Very disappointed because it was not my first time at this spot (never had a problem before). Management was extremely rude and told us if we don't leave we will be trespassing and they will call local police. I was honestly horrified because I work in the service industry and I know by NY state law if an establishment serves food at the bar, you do not need to be 21 to order and eat there. This is food. I was so disappointed. We had girls night out reservations for a Friday night and our table was what turned out to be in the middle of someone's birthday party space! Apparently they rented out the back part of the dining room for a 50th birthday party. Standing room only party as there was only a single table set up for seating and probably easily about 3X as many guests. Every time the waitstaff or bus needed to get through we had people leaning onto our table to allow them to pass. Our 2 friends on the end of our table basically has butts in their faces each time it happened which was often. They had a woman singing at the front of the room that I felt bad for as nobody seemed to be paying attention or maybe it was just that it was SO LOUD there she couldnt be heard over the noise. The onion soup was very good, corned beef sandwich not so much. Odd bits of corned beef, not sliced, and rye bread that was soaking wet on the bottom. Average bar with a friendly staff and bartenders. Food is average with a decent size menu and dinning room. Definitely able to serve large party's and host some events if needed. Bar is decently big and has a Manhattan style to it. Bartenders are friendly and service is pretty good. A nice spot for happy hour after work or to hang out at during football season. read more

Worst service I've ever had. Ordered a ny strip rare and it came out medium not even a little pink in the middle. When I questioned the waitress about it I got nothing but attitude she just took it away and didn't even offer to have them make another. Went there for the first time tonight, Friday 11/29, had fun till a bartender with dirty blonde hair , name starts with an N, pushed my boyfriend and he told her to just say excuse me. She acted like she owned the place threatening him that she would get him thrown out. Continued to get dirty looks for the next 10 minutes until he felt uncomfortable and we had to leave to avoid a problem. Also he had told an older male bartender with glasses what had happened and he didn't seem surprised at all. He is an emt as well and felt comfortable due to his patches and license plates from the same service. I'm not really a "hater" I don't usually give out bad reviews either. Jackie Riley's has a beautiful atmosphere with great food, and great bar, with amazing people working there. It's the fact that when I try to go too the bar with my friends after a long day at work and I get denied bar time because my "id was fake." I'm a 22 year old man, for someone to just look at a id and say its fake is a total disgrace. After that situation I will never go back with my friends ever again!!! The drinks are WEAK I had 3 vodka cranberry and not even a slight buzz, only reason I'm even bothering to give this place 2 stars is that the French onion soup was DELISH and the service was very nice, my fish and chips was the NASTIEST thing I ever seen, I can buy frozen fish that is way better - way over cooked it was like chewing gum, they have the audacity to call it "DUBLIN FISH AND CHIPS" even the fries are gross, oily and burnt - I have a very strong feeling the fish and chips were from a frozen box they were flat on both sides like some kind of chicken tender EWWWWWWWWW don't order this ever! My husband burger were MEH at best - and like other reviewers said the place is DIRTY!! I get it it's a bar serving bar food BUT I'm pretty sure even bar people are familiar with a broom - here is my take, if you REALLY want to give his place a shot I would stick to the appetizer section - and if you are going to drink I would be sitting at the bar where I can see them pour the fucking vodka on your glass or not give you just cranberry juice - I make stronger better drinks at home or better yet stick to beers if they are going to be stingy about the vodka! Went for our ritual pre-hockey game dinner at Jackie Reilly's. Started with their outstanding wings and a cold Blue Point on tap. I ordered an off menu Reuben which was the best Reuben I have ever eaten in my entire life. The bread was buttery and crisp, the corned beef thick, tender, lean and not salty. I came here for a rehearsal dinner for my cousins wedding and I enjoyed the food very much. It was a Thursday night around 7:30pm and the restaurant was pretty empty so they had set up the tables in a horseshoe because our party was pretty large. The food was served buffet style and the options were a garden salad, tortellini salad, rigatoni alla vodka, chicken marsala, rice, and shepherds pie. I tried everything and it was all pretty tasty. My favorites were the tortellini salad and the chicken marsala. I also liked the rigatoni alla vodka but it just needed a little parmesan cheese and it would have been great. After reading the reviews I was very excited to visit. My daughter and I arrived a little after 4pm so we weren't too thrown off that there were no other diners. We started with soda and wings. The wings were ok, the bleu cheese was fantastic. The drinks and wings came out quickly, but dinner took an unusually long time for an empty restaurant. My daughter ordered the Shepherd's pie, it came with beef barley soup. She enjoyed the soup, but did not like the pie. Typically it is one of her favorite meals. I ordered the french dip sandwich. It was very dry, overcooked. The fries were very good. Our waitress, was a delight though. We really enjoyed her conversation and personality. Right down the street from where we were staying, located in the middle of a strip mall. The place had a packed bar with happy hours deals but most tables were empty in the dining area when we arrived around 6. By 7 or so, the place was completely packed, the different christmas parties going on! I hear they're not very busy on weekdays if you're looking for a quieter scene. They have a full bar, beer and liquor. I settled on a vodka gimlet..my attempt to not consume anything too heavy and they did a great job! We ordered the sampler and i sampled everything except the clam and it was all delicious. I have to say that or all seemed really fresh and home made. Had my son's first birthday party here today. It was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious: Teriyaki steak FTW with an honorable mention to the buffalo wings. This is a good sized restaurant that has some good pub food and beers. Sometimes the service is a bit slow but you have to expect that a bit from a pub that isn't too busy. Went there for lunch, bartender would check on us usually 5 minutes after the drinks were empty which was annoying. Aside from the the food is basically frozen restaurant depot stuff I have in my freezer at home. Actually had "quesadilla rolls" on the menu when they showed up it was a frozen taquito. Should be embarrassed to serve that. Chicken fingers were bad I get better food from the old strip club near my house. Won't be going back till new ownership or they get an actual chef.
