Yeah, I like it here. The Friday night tastings are great- along with the wine, they lay out breads and cheeses. So you know- dinner! Stay or go, it's a fun gathering. Like other reviewers have said, you may pay a couple more bucks, but there's a solid collection of $11-13 wines and they are all delicious. read more

Had an awful experience in this shop. Was totally ignored for the whole time I was in the store . My first interaction with a staff member was at the cash register with A young woman who rudely ignored me and continued doing what she was doing (paying invoices ) until she was good and ready to check me out then no greeting just the total . When I told her about how this was a less than stellar experience I was met with no apology . I'll save my money and take my business elsewhere where I am appreciated or at least not ignored. read more

This place is awesome!! Staff knew their stuff. The prices were cheap! I bought a bottle of Riesling for $11 (and it tastes GREAT) and I even saw a bottle for $8. I would say a hipster area but no one was stuffy or in their own world. Even customers there were down to earth suggesting things. Thursdays 6-9 are wine tastings. They had four wines to select from (all reds) with different cheeses (brie, cheddar and swiss) meat and bread.. It has a woody look with some awesome art pieces hanging. read more

I asked for a dry white wine for around $10. Only one bottle was recommended to me it was $14 and turned out to be very sweet. I usually go to the polish wine and liquor store on mannhattan ave where they know alot more about value and flavor. Too bad dandelion is cute. read more

Pretty good store, with the exception of the snarky woman who owns it. She can be rather rude. I've experienced it, and have also witnessed it, rather unpleasant, so I'd say, avoid her if you can, and just enjoy the wine. The rest of the staff seem to have some people skills, and some are even gracious. The wines are decent, the prices competitive (if some times over priced), and the store itself is cute, a wonderful mural on a giant black board depicting the season changes. The wine tastings are great, even though they usually give you a thimble of wine (seems a bit of a waste with a real wine glass), but the cheeses and breads are really wonderful, and it is a good way to meet the community. read more

Hands down my favorite wine locale in Brooklyn! The entire vibe of this space emanates an invitation to plunge into the healing world of grapes and the enjoyment of the finer things in life. i mean, yeah it's a nice place, but nothing that special. They have a lot of stuff I've never seen before, which is good and sometimes bad. If you know what you want and want to pay less stick to the place on Manhattan Ave. across from McDonald's. I find the staff to be a little clicky too. read more

Sorry I've never rated this place before - but 5 stars for being a good community business. Wine tastings - which i've been to many of over the years - are now from 630 to 830 pm on Thursday nights, but their dedication to doing them is good business and good for the community. You will never find a wine merchant more beloved than Dandelion. You could shop with your eyes closed and still walk out with a great selection. Each bottle is carefully chosen by one of the incredibly knowledgeable staff. The weekly Thursday wine tastings are actually fun and always feature incredible bread and cheese. Lovely wine shop with knowledgeable staff who give honest recommendations without trying to upsell you. I often give descriptions of roughly what I want for delivery (yes, they deliver, thank you jesus) and have always been really happy with the picks. On Thursdays they have nice tastings with interesting choices, many of which my wife and I have purchased. They also provide some really nice cheese and bread from Eastern District (another gem). That said, if you go, don't just hover by the food and snarf down everything. Try and remember other people are there too. read more

Got a couple of stares from the female staff when I walked in but the man working there was quick to help. The wines he chose were excellent and very reasonable. My friends went to the liquor store on Manhattan and the wines were a little more generic. Would recommend since the selections is well curated and the price is right. read more

Oh Mighty Isis! This is one of the great reasons to live in NYC! When I'm out of town, I can't seem to escape generic wines for a budget of under $20, you know, the stuff at massive grocery stores (Clos du Bois, Ravenswood, Barefoot, Sutter Home, Woodbridge, Frog's Leap, etc etc). These dominate, even at nicer wine shops. At this charming little Greenpoint place, however, there is nothing predictable on the shelves. What interesting, eclectic, and affordable wines! The handwritten labels on each wine add to the quirk, and the staff (Tom, at least) is friendly, very knowledgeable, and down to earth about it (rare). In Manhattan the wines would be 30$ and up (hmm, more like $60?), but here, the tastiest recommended dry white was under $20 (and it was as promised, dry, tasty, and great!). read more

if there's one thing that greenpoint has a lot of, it's liquor stores. liquor stores usually staffed by various surly polish men who don't know much about anything they are selling...and especially not wine. enter dandelion wine. i really don't think that i would have made it over here if i hadn't won a gift certificate. but whoo-doggy, i'll be back. the staff was friendly, not pushy and didn't make fun or judge me (at least to my face) about my lack of wine knowledge. i know what i like, but i don't express it in very...shall we say...refined terms. this store is a great neighborhood gem with late hours. i'll be back for sure. read more

This is such a fun place to buy wine! Descriptive bottles on every label make it easy, so do the low prices. I just love being there - there's always nice music playing, local art being featured, and the decor is just really chic, classy and cozy. Great place, super friendly staff, and it feels like a real local neighborhood business. I've always gotten good wine here- oh! And they deliver! No minimum or delivery fee! The only reason I give them 4 stars is because it's a teensy tiny expensive for me- but that's because I'm really broke. My impression is that the wines are really reasonably priced. Recently I had the opportunity to have 12 beautiful women including my daughter from Greenpoint in Brooklyn, NY, and Florida visit my home in Tampa. These delightful women, as a lovely thank you went to see Lilly at Dandelion wine and send us a case of FABULOUS wines including a 2012 Domaie du JAS, Cotes Due Rhone, Cuvee Prestige, Had it last night and savored every drop.
