So glad to have this Thai restaurant so close to home to get my Pad Thai fix... 5 stars!!!!! The dishes at Dancing Spoons will make your taste buds dance! My favorites include the Tom Yum Soup, Shrimp Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Spicy Basil Chicken, and Sweet Garlic Pork. All delicious with good flavor, not to mention generous portions as well as pretty reasonably priced. An order of any of these three offerings is more than enough for dinner as well as lunch the following day for two! Have also tried the Pineapple Fried Rice, but probably would not order it in the future. Haven't had Pineapple Fried Rice before, and I guess I'm just more of a fan of the typical Chinese Fried Rice or Filipino Garlic Fried Rice. You order at the counter at Dancing Spoons, and there are only a couple of small tables inside as well at outside. It's more of a pick up type place since the food is served in to-go containers even if dining in. Dancing Spoons is located just a few feet from the San Gabriel Mission and Theater, so it's definitely a good choice for a meal if you're in the area. Parking is street parking only, but I never had an issue finding a spot. Make sure to order ahead on the phone if doing pick up. When they're not too busy, the food is usually available within ten to fifteen minutes. The staff has always been friendly and nice, and I am looking forward to ordering and trying out their other dishes. The plan is to try some of their curry dishes soon! read more

this thai place was pretty solid in comparison to all the other thai places i've tried. i ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. the pad thai was packed with flavor, perfectly stir-fried with fresh veggies and tender meat. the crab rangoons were addictive--crunchy on the outside and filled with a tasty filling inside. i also got a chicken massaman curry that had the perfect balance of spice and creamy coconut. the papaya salad was fresh and tangy, a nice contrast to the richer dishes. the service was fantastic; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure i had everything i needed. my drink came out quickly, and they even checked in to make sure everything tasted good. highly recommend this spot if you're craving authentic thai flavors with excellent service. i'll definitely be coming back! read more

I've dined at many Thai restaurants around the SGV and Thai Town in Hollywood, but this unassuming gem truly stands out as a hidden treasure. I ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao (Thai spicy), and Red Curry (Thai spicy), and every dish was packed with rich, bold flavors. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to you.  My friend and I shared the chicken pineapple fried rice and the chicken pad Thai, both entrees were delicious and good portion size.  We were craving Thai food, but I do see they have Japanese curry options on the menu. Was super excited to try a local place since I live in San Gabriel. Saw on Yelp But....when you walk up to the counter and the girl taking your order looks mad and irritated and won't even look up at you and once you start talking, she makes a big sigh and facial expression she's annoyed. I had to stop and ask her if I have done something wrong? She then responds - "whatever you think you saw you didn't see " I had to tell this sorry excuse for a "worker" there was no way I was going to give her my business She's been yelled out "bye " for every customer to hear! One of the best places for Thai food around here. There is not a lot of seating, so I think it's better for getting take out. I got the Beef Pad See Ew, which was delicious. The flat noodles were cooked perfectly, the beef was tender, and there was just the right combination of salty and sweet. I also tried the Chicken Massaman Curry, which I liked even more than the pad see ew. It had a super generous portion of chicken, all cooked to the perfect tenderness. The flavor of the coconut milk peanut curry was bomb AF. This was amazing with the fluffy white rice that came along with it. Their packaging of all the food is a bonus. The containers were sturdy and sealed tightly. Even their thai tea is good and comes in a cute cup. At their prices, I was expecting smaller food portions. Dancing Spoons catered for our annual gala. They were easy to work with and the food was amazing. They arrived early to set up the food and even brought cute signs to label each food item. The food was set up in the buffet-type food warmer with the warming gel underneath, which kept the food warm throughout the event. At the end of the night, there was no chicken satay or chicken fried rice leftover, meaning that our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food. Dancing spoons brought all the sauces and condiments as well. They were also clear about food allergies which is important because nut allergies appear to be on the rise! Can't wait to use them for future events! read more

Found this place walking around San Gabriel Mission. It was a small shop you could have easily missed - but I stopped when I saw the sign that Dancing Spoons had won most original Dumpling Winner 2021. Small clean shop with very limited seating. Asked what had won on the menu and it was Golden Curry. So I ordered it ...I think it was $14 ish. I was expecting dumplings and didn't realize it was a Thai curry dish. The curry was good. The dumplings were shrimp dumplings in the curry sauce. The curry included vegetables. It also came with rice. Great to eat fresh, I wouldn't recommend reheating leftovers. It was something different and I wouldn't have stopped if I didn't see the sign. Pretty authentic as I was leaving I could hear the workers all speak Thai! read more

Took a couple bites since it was my brother's meal of choice. But I did enjoy the taste of the curry with the veggie bits I got and the rice. Have come for two days in a row for lunch since this place is super close and Blossom Market was closed on a Monday. We decided to come back a second day because it was SO GOOS. All I can say is WOW. The food is amazing. I forgot to take pictures since the food smelled so good and I was hungry lol. The first day I ordered a Garlic Lover with beef. And the beef Pad See Ew the second day. We also ordered the fried tofu small plate. Everything we ate was very good. The portions were just enough to make you feel full but not sick. The food also came out very fast. This is a new Thai place that recently opened up by the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse - the menu is still fairly limited as they're in the new opening stages. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty busy with customers ordering to-go as well as some customers eating outside. The storefront is pretty small - there's a bar area for some high chair seating, but didn't see anybody eating inside just yet. There's also lots of grab-and-go items (chips, drinks) if you want to pair it with your meal. The interior looks very vibrant with white walls and pops of color from the furniture. I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup ($10.95) which was packaged extremely well for to-go. The noodles came in a small plastic container on top of the soup, keeping it dry until I actually combined the two while I was at home. I was asked if I can do spicy - I told her just a little spicy is okay, but I did feel like the soup was still on the spicy side. Not bad, but it definitely had a kick! Portion size was decent with it being perfect for 1 person. Normally I can split a noodle order into two meals, but I actually finished the entire thing - maybe I was extra hungry! The noodles and soup were solid, but I thought the ingredients in the soup were just a little lackluster. I'd order this again though as I really enjoyed the kick to the soup. I also added on the Iced Thai Green Tea (don't remember the exact price but around $3-4). I asked for less ice and less sugar; unfortunately they didn't give me less ice, but she remembered I requested less sugar. I thought this was really refreshing, especially on a hot day! It resembled a milk tea but was a little more subtle and not sweet at all. I would definitely recommend giving this a try. tl;dr - a welcome addition to SGV's restaurants! Prices are a little pricier, but I believe rent is probably not cheap in the area that they opened. Plenty of parking in front of restaurants as well as street parking. read more

We ordered right near opening and were told it would be ready in 25 mins. We ended up waiting 50 mins and my husband was late to his work meeting. The foods we had were fine. Had their drunken noodles, beef bowl, and Tom yum noodle soup. I was surprised they didn't ask us for the spice level because both the drunken noodles and tom yum were very spicy. They weren't marked as spicy on the menu either. So good luck to whoever never had either of those items in other restaurants before and can't tolerate any heat in their food. My spice tolerance is relatively high and I had to gulp cup after cup of water down. Overall - I liked their food but probably won't risk waiting 50 mins for lunch again. read more

Honest opinion? It's a 2.5 star experience for me. Pad Thai was $10.95 before tax. While it was tasty, portion size was meager. I'd much rather go to Thai Paradise, pay $15 for a larger portion, so that I have leftovers for the following day. Green Thai Tea was $4.50. I actually really enjoyed this drink and would give this a 5 stars! If you haven't tried green thai tea, you should. Packaging was kinda neat. For the Pad Thai, bean sprouts were packed in a container/lid setup - see pictures for reference. The cup for drinks is square, which was kinda cool until I realized my car's cupholders are circular. I had a sudden craving for mango sticky rice and I looked up a place nearby. This place was the closest and was about to close so I figure I could catch them right before closing. Cute little shop with a somewhat small menu (personally I favor that). Ordered the side of mango sticky rice with the Thai green tea and got a uji white strawberry matcha to go for the following day. Thai green tea was sooooooo good! Mango sticky rice just as great! Service was ok, nothing above and beyond and parking is available out front or on the side street. I randomly drove by and thought it was a dance studio but stopped by the ice cream place and noticed Thai food. I ordered a pad see ew and the shrimp papaya salad The food was a 7/10. The pad see ew is good but not out of this world spectacular. It doesn't have enough "wok chi" as we say it in Chinese. But it doesn't have the crispy burnt aroma flavor as bigger restaurants can handle. The shrimp papaya salad was only ok. It had no kick to it, overly sweet and not enough lime. Sweet is ok if it has the right lime/spicy ratio. However, the beef in the pad see ew is edible and very good whereas other restaurants use inedible meat where I usually pick out the meat and toss. The shrimp in the papaya salad was also surprisingly good. Shrimp is usually dry and chewy at other restaurants but they did it right here. Great texture and cooked perfectly. But rarely do you find a clean Thai restaurant with thoughtful eco-friendly packaging. This really stood out to me bc it adds to the experience. I like clean. I wouldn't consider the food to be authentic Thai but good enough to return and try the tom yum noodle soup! read more

Such a cute little, family-run spot. The highlight for me was actually the tea... if you're into creamy drinks, definitely don't miss the Thai tea options here! I ordered the green Thai tea, which appears to be matcha that makes this green. As for the food, I tried the Shrimp Pad Thai. It's not spicy at all yet still flavorful, and personally I actually like that since I'm terrible with spice. They do have a bit of chili flakes on the side if you want to add it in.
