The food has honestly gone downhill, the service is normally great but I recently went tonight and it was awful. The server asked us what we want to drink and if we wanted miso soup right off the bat. Fifteen minutes later she comes back to get our order and we still haven't gotten our drinks or miso soup( which was fine because we didn't order food yet). Anyways moving forward, we ordered the fried calamari because we wanted to try something new, chicken fried rice, and two shrimp tempura rolls. I will say Dancing Roll will always have great sushi, but tonight was a disappointment. The fried calamari was $7 and you only get 6 pieces of them. It was the toughest, chewiest, and tasteless calamari I've ever eaten...will not be ordering that again. I also felt like it was so slow and I didn't mind waiting but I wish we got served our soup, salad, and appetizer before our main courses. The ambiance of the place was also different because there wasn't many people there because of the bengals game being on, but there wasn't much noise, it was pretty quiet. A good experience at the West Chester location. It didn't look promising coming up to it. This is located in a crappy strip mall. It's located next to a terrible Chinese buffet. This is by far the best restaurant. A very good deal is the special for lunch. It's miso, salad, and 2 rolls for $5.99. That's crazy, you can't get a better price for this. It's a very small amount of salad, but it comes with a great spicy mustard dressing. The miso is very good while being simple. Of course, the main attraction is the sushi rolls, which exceeded expectations. The sushi rolls almost always are half off, so you save a lot compared to higher end sushi. I had an avocado roll and a vegetable roll. These aren't high end, as they don't come in a seaweed wrapper. It's still better than Kroger crap. You get it cheaper too. I would come here for sushi before anywhere else. It's cheap yet very good. Very rare you can say that about sushi. read more

Don't be scared away by the semi rundown strip center this restaurant is located in because this is my favorite sushi restaurant in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati. Once you step inside, it is a small tastefully decorated restaurant. They have a wide variety of the typical rolls you would expect to see at a sushi restaurant, as well as a large range of specialty rolls. My favorite specialty roll they offer is the Orange Roll. It is filled with tempura shrimp, BBQ eel, and asparagus, then topped with salmon, eel sauce, and sesame seeds. The asparagus and sesame seeds give a unique crunchy texture that I absolutely love. I'm such a sucker for any sushi roll with eel sauce. If you go during the week take advantage of the happy hour which runs until 6 pm for discounted glasses of beer and wine. Stopped by after church on a Sunday, it is in a very unassuming location. And when you get inside, it feels a bit small. However, all of that went away when we got our Sushi. I had the Spicy Salmon and Spicy Crab rolls. I don't remember what my wife ordered lol It was all DELICIOUS! Plus, right now they have all sushi for half off. So, it was very reasonably priced! I have been coming to the Dancing Roll for years. I can't believe I haven't checked in here before, sometimes I would forget my head if I didn't have to take it with me. The sushi here is always perfect, the prices are not outrageous either. I normally order 2 or 3 rolls and get the soup (Soup is free with dine in order) as a starter. I have even had other food items on the menu here, but normally it is the rolls I come here for. I have yet to be disappointed from anything I have ever ordered here. This place is not huge, but I have never not gotten a seat. To say I love eating here would be an understatement, when anyone suggests Sushi (Maki for me please) I always come here. It is a weird ad thing, but for years they offer Half Priced Sushi... I am sure it gets people in the door, but I would prefer if they just cut the prices in half and make life easier. read more

Amazing - amazing - amazing. I was headed up to the West Chester area Saturday evening and decided to search for a sushi place on yelp and low and behold - found this little gem. And what a northern metro Cinci nugget it is. After being greeted by the very warm/friendly (cute too) Kia, I sat up at the bar and began to ask about the signature rolls. After coming to terms with my standard indecisiveness, i just asked Kia to pick her favorite three rolls. She ended up bringing me the "Playboy", "Calamari" and "Special Lobster" rolls... And they were all excellent. I've eaten a lot of sushi ", Trust me, and this place is an experience not to miss. The service was A++ and the owner even came out and said hello and thanked all the patrons - which as far as I'm concerned, a dying art form for sure. I've had Dancing Roll many times as a dine-in customer, but with the current state of the world with shelter-in-place & social distancing, this was my first time doing take out. The good news is the take out experience holds up. Dancing Roll always offers half-price sushi, which begs the question why they just don't price everything that way regularly, but so digress... In terms of sushi quality for the cost, I'm not sure Dancing Roll has an equal in the area. It has never failed me or let me down. My teenage daughter, who LOVES sushi, would go here every day if I let her. Tonight, my daughter, my wife, & I ordered 8 different sushi rolls in total. $47 total! The process of ordering was easy, as was pick up. When I arrived, our orders were boxed individually, each with ginger & wasabi, and we were each given a side of soy sauce & chop sticks. Even without plates, everything looked great (see pictures). I personally ordered three rolls: the Yum Yum Roll, the Crunch Roll, & the Volcano Roll. The Yum Yum Roll itself was a tasty, serviceable roll, but could not compare to the greatness and flavor of both the Crunch Roll & Volcano Roll. These two rolls were on a whole different level: flavorful & delicious, with just the right touch of spice. My wife & daughter we're both equally satisfied by their rolls as well. Overall, it was a great dining experience. While I can't wait to dine out once again, in the meantime it is great to know I can get such great sushi in the comfort (& safety) of my own home. read more

I will say that the service was good and our server gave us complimentary miso soup which was good and warm on a cold day. To start I ordered the gyoza. They were hot and I loved the dipping sauce it came with. Up next, was a shrimp tempura roll. When it came out it was very underwhelming. The roll was so small, had minimal fillings, and as little rice on the outside as possible. The taste was there but that's about it. My husband and I split the bengals roll. For the money we haven't found better sushi in the Cincinnati metro area. I have had better but only when paying a significant premium. It's truly solid. Kimchi jigae (soup) and kimchi rolls were delightful and I can't even weigh in on other rolls accurately because I've had so many. Second time ever going to a sushi restaurant, I'll have to come back here again!! The exterior is pretty underwhelming (it's in a shopping plaza with some other businesses, the one next door went out of business), but don't let that keep you from going inside. The interior is pretty small as far as seating, but they use the space well. The service was good, we waited on our soup until after we got our sushi, but apparently they didn't have any spoons cleaned and they apologized. As I said earlier, I'm no sushi connoisseur, but out of the 6 rolls we got I could not pick a favorite! They were all so good. And the best part is it's always happy hour prices! I have always loved this sushi joint. It's cheap and tends to be a great environment. It became a tradition with my dad and with friends. We came here before a dance to get dinner with a friend allergic to fish. She brought in Chick-fil-A since she was unable to get food and was immediately yelled at by a worker. He was extremely disrespectful and kicked her completely out of the restaurant. We then asked for our sushi to go so we could eat with our friend. We had gotten drinks at this point and wanted to wait on our sushi in peace. A worker then came over and told us we have to leave the table!! While I understand it is a Friday night and they are busy, we are paying customers and treated them with nothing but respect. I am absolutely disgusted and will no longer be coming here with my friends or family. Update: still left a tip despite the treatment I received. I hope for better for the company. Also spent ten minutes looking for a sign stating the rule against outside food. Found nothing! If a company is going to treat its customers like that, maybe have some indicator of it. read more

The quality of fish is hit or miss, but usually decent. The restaurant is very small and fills up quickly, but the ambience is nice and service is good if they aren't too busy. Wow! This food is clean and tasty! I got the fried rice that had fresh vegetables and almost like lemon zest in the rice. It was served with oranges on the side to cleanse your palate. It was unlike other food because it wasn't super greasy. I did not feel like I ate a lot of food after but instead felt full and energized. It was clean food well prepared. I went on a Monday and got half price rolls as well. I ate the sweet potato roll that was well worth the 2.75! The decor inside was very quaint and I enjoyed the surroundings. We got there around 5:30 and it was just in time as the tables quickly filled up! We had a great waiter that was attentive and knew the menu! I can't wait to go back! I was on the fence about this place until the last time I was a patron. Most of the wait staff is nice enough. But the turnover happens so often that the service ends-up being horrible. I'm guessing they only hire friends because you can see the staff just standing there and talking, most of the time you're there. There too many tables for such a tiny hole in the wall. You bump into anyone if there's are more than 5 tables with people sitting at them. It's not the super cleanest places. The restroom is near the very cluttered kitchen. Now for the reason I'm writing this. I will never go back to this place because of how I was treated. I had inquired about their deal they have on Yelp and the waitress I was speaking to, had no idea and told me "no", instead of even trying to "check" on it for me. She then asked another waitress about the deal and she also said no. I continued to mention that they should honor their deal that is advertised and she said the owner told her they wouldn't. Because they can't even handle their own yelp account and change things themselves. Whatever. I had people waiting for their food. So I just finished my order and waited the extra time they put on my order. I've always been told 15-20 minutes when ordering. But this time I was told 30-45 minutes. When I opened the containers, every single piece of food was about half the normal size. I could not believe what I was seeing. I had never gotten sushi so small. Everyone was disappointed at my suggestion for cheap sushi. I ended-up having to go out and getting fast food after everyone ate.
