I walked in for lunch and was promptly greeted. I ordered the rainbow roll and edamame as an appetizer and was also given miso soup. The miso soup was hot and delicious, the edamame and rainbow roll both came out very quickly and were both enjoyed greatly! My only complaint is that the edamame was too salty for my taste, but next time I will just ask for no salt :) read more

It's a nice cozy place. The atmosphere is quite intimate. The sushi is delicious and very affordable. Even if you don't like raw fish, there are lots of other options. They offer udon soup (thick flour noodles) and bi bim bop (Korean rice dish - comes in a super hot mini cast iron pot, and it's like disassembled fired rice that you are suppose to stir up)...back to the sushi...my favorites are the spider roll, dynamite roll, red devil, and a special not on the menu roll "perfecto roll"...yummy! read more

We had high expectations based on other reviews and word of mouth but I left disappointed with the meal. We did enjoy the nigiri, but the quality of the sushi left much to be desired. I had the sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura and split goyza and crab Rangoon. Both of my rolls were really just not good. The sweet potato was still firm and cold in the middle and shrimp had an odd texture. I liked both of our appetizers, but I'm not sure I would go back just for those. I've been coming here off and on for 4 years and have been told countless times (at least 6 times) that their miso soup is vegetarian and does not have bonito. WRONG. One knowledgeable waitress realized my order was all vegetarian and told me after I was halfway done with my miso that it has fish in it. You really can't trust anyone. Really sucks! This little sushi bar is in suburban West Cheater located in a strip mall has no frills on the interior but guess what, they make some damn good sushi. Let's be honest most of what you pay for in your sushi price is the atmosphere and location costs. Yeah it is nice to have mahogany accents and old Asian murals hanging around as you eat but guess who pays for it, you. So this cozy little sushi bar in Suburbia can keep the quality of their food up and the cost of their food down which makes for the perfect storm of Sushi greatness. My wife was craving sushi, I was craving something light, so we came to Dancing Roll. We have been here once before for the lunch special and it did not disappoint. They always seem to have the sushi at half price, which I forgot about. I ordered the avocado/cucumber rolls an my wife got the spicy tuna. Our son James ordered the Yum Yum Roll and we shared a King Crab Roll. Our youngest, Josie, wanted the dumpling soup. She loved the dumplings. I will say this, you would think that the avocado/cucumber roll would lack some flavor, but it did not, I was very happy with it. Also, always a fan of wasabi. . . they way it just hits you. . . fantastic. This place is small on the inside, but that doesn't matter much, I prefer a smaller venue. They do have seating outside as well. Overall, this is a GREAT value for sushi. The four of us on this evening ate for 25 dollars. . . Amazing! The owner is actually from Dancing Wasabi (when it was still good), and brought some of the old sushi chefs with her. We had a group of 5 and paid $50 for 7 rolls. Ridiculously cheap for amazing sushi. We had Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Tuna, Spicy California, American Dream, California Dream, Crunch Roll, and Tiger. Our favorites were Spicy California and California Dream... They were big rolls and full of flavor! They are located in a strip mall, but don't let that stop you from going! It's pretty small, which is why they are also one of the only (if not THE only) place that does half price carry out. We also went right before they were closing to put new floor in. Also checked out the lunch specials before we left... Two rolls and miso for $5.99! Can't beat that. read more

The music in this place was awesome. It was trendy new pop music and in a dimly lit sushi restaurant can make for quite the swanky date night! If that didn't make me think this place was cool it definitely was the huge table of indian teenage boys talking obnoxiously loud behind me about the girls they were courting (Dude, like, she's cool, but I should dump her, like but she works out!). As annoying as it was, it was a slight indicator to trendy! right on! The server was super nice! She asked if it was my first time and gave me the run down on how to order and also asked if I would like a water while I wait! She also let me know that their sushi was HALF OFF ALL THE TIME. He is new to the area and we are just beginning to scout out our favorite restaurants. We love sushi, so, on a recent visit, we decided to stop in. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, and our drink orders were taken immediately. I will concur with the other reviewer who stated that it's not bad for half-price sushi. We prefer a little more variety in our sauces and creativity in our rolls, but for the basics, and the price, this place was delicious, and had friendly service. We ordered six rolls, and spent $42 before tip. I am a firm believer in tipping on the full amount of the check, before discounts or coupons, especially when the food is hand prepared, labor intensive, and the service is good, so with tip, we spent $57 for the 3 of us. First off when we walked in we were greeted with a smile and we were walked to our table which was located in the back of the small and cozy restaurant and everyone was just so friendly and nice and the food came out so quick and it was delicious and sushi was half price so we dropped $30 which is cheap for sushi but It was very good. I'm town on business again. There are a good amount of sushi places around the hotel. I chose this one because it was the first I saw. The atmosphere is quaint and comforting. The staff is super friendly. I sat at the bar and was able to talk with the sushi chef and ask for recommendations. Both he and the waitress recommended the Red Devil and Dancing Lobster rolls. They were spot on. The rolls were amazing, good sized and very tasteful. The presentation is great as well. Luckily I'm in town often. I will be back very soon. read more

The reviews and the ratings of this place proves to me that Yelp is useless when it comes to ethnic food. People around this area must not know what good sushi is. I grew up in Japan, and their cheapest sushi chain over there would be far better than this place. Don't get me wrong. This place is "okay". it's not gross or anything. But nothing special. But when I want to eat some sushi, I go to Ando in Blue Ash. I watched a young guy teaching another young guy how to make rolls. You all need to watch this documentary called "Jiro dreams of Sushi" on Netflix. Maybe it'll make you appreciate the art of Sushi. Found this place online, read the reviews here and decided to give it a go. Went on a Thursday night and it wasn't too crowded. I was met and sat promptly and our server was very attentive. Rolls came out after only about 20 min and ere pretty consistent with what's offered at Cloud Nine and the old Dancing Wasabi. I would consider this place pretty good, but not quite as good as Cloud Nine (IMO). Definitely worth a return trip, especially since the carryout sushi is 1/2 off as well. read more

I'm giving them 3 out 5 although they should have 5 stars, it's only because they're relatively new. This is essentially another Dancing Wasabi. Don't believe me? Pay attention to the staff, the menu, and the bill folders. The sushi is exactly what DW offers, the price is almost exactly the same. The difference... the staff/service was an absolute train wreck. It took forever to get water, she entered out orders in wrong, they kept bringing me the "correct roll" which was always the wrong roll. So after three attempts I just took what they gave me. It's slow, the server seemed incredibly overwhelmed, the space is super small, the windows are super drafty so don't sit by them. They really need to get it together, I'm sure with time they will work out all of their kinks. I hope. read more

Being from San Francisco, I'm somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to sushi and seafood. So I was actually quite surprised and impressed by this hole in the wall here in Ohio! The white tuna sashimi was fresh and melted in my mouth! The miso soup was piping hot! The king crab roll and alaskan roll was simple and not fancy, which is the way it should be! Even the Edamame beans were fresh hot! And what's even crazier than finding a authentic Sushi restaurant out here is the fact that it was so cheap! The service was great too. Great place to eat even late! Half price sushi! We gave this place a try as a sort of midnight snack and I have to say it is up to par with sushi in Japan with which I have experience. The soup is made fresh daily and the sushi is always fresh to order. They have amazing specialty rolls as well as any traditional rolls. If you have never tried sushi before they even have a "hot dog roll" with no fish but an actual hotdog cut up and fit into a sushi roll. It will make you adventurous enough to try the rest of the menu (which has many cooked roll options). All the prices you see on the menu are full price but when you get your ticket all the prices will be cut in half. Go there! Try it! You will love this place. read more
