Camille was very fast as I was on my lunch break and I liked how she was focused and wasn't distracted by talking, texting or chatting throughout the salon. This is a well-oiled machine and I love the way it's run. No fuss, to the point, great nail experience. So far, I am enjoying my nails as I am very, very, very, very particular about my shape, nail bed coverage, polish technique and how long they last. I changed my shape so I will have to get used to it, but I will be paying close attention in the next few days to how the shape holds up and if the shine of my gel coat remains. But we all know the most important part is how the nails look as they grow away from the cuticles. Yet to be seen... However, when he isn't there--especially later in the day--the experience is completely different. The technicians seem to rush through the manicure, become argumentative when I ask for something specific, and often ignore my requests. One of my biggest concerns is the excessive use of the electric drill and UV lamp. I know what works best for my nails, and I have repeatedly explained that I do not want my natural nail bed damaged. Unfortunately, my preferences are often dismissed, and I feel pressured into a service I didn't ask for. It's frustrating because the exact same requests are honored when the manager is supervising, which tells me the staff are capable of following customer instructions. Customers deserve the same level of respect and care regardless of who is on duty. Consistency and listening to your clients should be a priority.

Pro-tip - enter and exit on the Merrick Ave side and not the Merrick Road side if you can - the Merrick Road entrance gets a crazy long wait. This location is really beautiful and very large and bright. There's free wifi, books, tv screens and everything is very spaced out. Their drying bar is elevated so it kind of looks like you're seated at a table for drinks or something. It's cool. They were pretty busy as can be expected on a Sunday. I still waited about 10-15 minutes after my appt. I wasn't in a rush but I guess that's something to consider if you are on a tight schedule. I might go back on a weekday if that works better. The manager or owner was going around trying to make sure everyone was accommodated though and even started doing someone's toes themselves. I decided to upgrade to a spa pedicure since my nail technician Wendy was so nice. I don't think I have particularly rough feet since I'm still mostly just around the house, but the scrub and moisturizing treatment and massage felt great and Wendy was very thorough. The pedicure turned out great and afterwards Wendy gave me the quick shoulder massage while I waited for my toes to dry. It's cheaper to pay in cash so I did. They have one of those punch cards (signature) so ask for one if you plan on going back. For anyone wondering, the nail techs all wear masks.

Manicure table dusty and dirty, cuticle cutter was not in a sterilized pouch, and the portable UV lamps were filthy inside. They were caked with dust and grit, so much so that when my hands came out particles were stuck to my nails that had to be picked off and repolished, plus my palms were covered in someone else's sanded off gel. To top that off I figured after the cuticle oil was put on I would be asked to go wash my hands, nope, just preceded to put moisturizer and try to rub that dirt into my hands even more. I had to stop her and tell her I needed to go wash my hands. No hot towel, no neck massage, although at that point I wouldn't have accepted one anyway because her hands were dirtier than mine and remained unwashed while she put moisturizer on my hands. Horrible. There were more issues, like my nail shape being completely changed from oval to sharp points when I definitely didn't ask for that and the tops of my nails pointing east when they should be straight. I was actually told it was my two fingers than weren't straight thankfully they are and someone came over and fixed it. Just an all around bad experience which is insane, for the prices they charge you should be getting 5 star service.
