Poor husband and wife that run this place. They really need to upgrade this place with a remodel. I got the chicken chow mein with veggies. I could not really eat the chicken as it was soft and spongy chicken that someone said looked like pork rinds. Either way it was bad. I did not eat the chicken at all. Most everyone else liked their meals. I don't think that I will be going back anytime soon. read more

Best Beef fried rice, I love ordering on Saturday noon he always knows my order. Thanks to a Wonderful Lady today for helping me. Food and ambiance. Was great when I was growing up because all we had was Dancing Dragon and Dragon Fountain. Now. The restaurant should call it a wrap and let somebody else take it over. Food is blah. Drink prices for bottled beer is insane. Sorry Dancing Dragon. We've been eating a dancing dragon for over 20 years and did her due diligence to make sure they were gonna be open on Christmas. He sat down at our table to wait, which was over 40 minutes. Johnny, the waiter was super rude and told us the weight to order food would be 40 minutes. For some reason, he was the only waiter working the floor, which during Christmas day is insane. Grub orders were blaring in the background. If Johnny or the other owner would've bothered to tell us that there was an extended order time when we walked to the door we wouldn't have wasted over 40 minutes, sitting at a table. It's obvious this regular. This restaurant is struggling since it has been updated in over 20 years. If the service continues to suck, it's gonna go down in flames and be gone because other places are nicer and treat the customer as well. For what they charge we should be getting top tier service you were great customers and know how to tip. So I'm gonna give a tip to the general public avoid this place like the plague, the overpriced and they have shotty service. read more

BEST SERVICE EVER We arrived 1 hour prior to closing decided to celebrate my birthday with exploring a new restaurant. The menu is typical of a Chinese restaurant and the experience only improved ordering: the waiter (we believe he was the owner) recommended to our youngest to remove onions and sprouts from his chicken rice. He obviously accepted! Our other son asked for the same plate and the waiter kindly suggested Chicken Chow Mein and to share. We all agreed. When bringing the large Kung Pao Chicken plate, one of my sons asked "Is that for all of us?" and he replied: "Families always share!" I should have mentioned it took him no longer than 4 to 5 minutes to bring the food and our water glasses were refilled often without us waiting. It's very sad when I can't give a glowing review. Going in with the hope that a "lunch special" will be time and money well spent, but leaving wishing I had gone elsewhere. While I don't have evidence of food poisoning, or needing to spit the food out, I've certainly had better. The Ma Po Tufu was mediocre and so I was my hot & sour soup. Always order dine out and for the first time we actually dined in! Wow! Service was excellent, food was of course even better than ever! The portions are hearty! The only bad thing I can say that happened was my fortune cookie was fortune less! NOSTALGIA DISCLAIMER: First, I have lived in Hillsboro my whole life and have eaten here since I was a kid. Second, I love American Chinese in general and this place is a great example of it. With that being said, since Dancing Dragon was remodeled due to fire a few years back this place has stepped up its game. The food has always been good but it's better now than before. No, it's not authentic Chinese...there are places for that...but they do American Chinese right. The eggrolls are great! Big, crunchy, and taste the way they should (like the fair). The Foo Yung is my personal Favodite and it's great The fried shrimp are big and always well done The fried rice...it's the whole reason we eat American Chinese to begin with! I don't see why there are mediocre reviews here, this place has been totally amazing during the pandemic. My go-to order is the mar far chicken with a side of sweet and sour sauce. The mar far chicken tastes fresh, with visible pieces of green onion in the batter. I've ordered takeout from here several times recently and the food is always piping hot, crispy, and fresh. This is classic American Chinese food, and it totally hits the craving when I want something sweet, fried, or salty. I also order delivery from these guys via Postmates and it's somehow still warm and crispy when it arrives. read more

My fiancé and I have been searching all over Beaverton and Hillsboro for good Chinese. We both grew up not far from here but had our favorite home town Chinese restaurants. We haven't found anything like them until we tried Dancing Dragon. Sure the place needs a facelift, but the service was prompt, and the food was just what we were looking for. Only complaint was that the egg flower soup needed a little bit of salt as it was bland. But everything else was tasty! We will be back. read more

The food is great but only get it to go. The female server is completely rude. We asked for a drink menu and were told 'full bar'. Asked for a drink and got attitude 'we don't have that, we are no Japanese.' Still refused to bring a drink menu and said 'you are fine with water then'. No we weren't intoxicated or rude. Just tried to get a menu and she acted like it was an imposition to tell us what drinks she had. I tried asking for 'beer, wine, spirits' menu and again was told full bar which gave us no indication. So my go to Chinese restaurant used to be (and still is) Good Taste Noodle House. Unfortunately not many places are open past 9 pm and since this was my only option for Chinese i figured i would roll the dice...***Disclaimer*** I was reluctant to do this. Two stars on Yelp made me worried, but sadly i rolled SNAKE EYES...horrible. My wife wanted beef fried rice. I decided to follow suit and got the pork fried rice as well. We got egg rolls and (one of the only positive reviewed items)crab puffs. Where should i start. The fried rice was mediocre. The rice was more steamed and the textures between tbe pork and the veggies and the rice was negligible. The egg rolls were kind of odd. They were kind of tempura fried, but the filling was just mushed together on the inside. And tbe crab puffs were anything but "puffy". They were too thick almost tasting stale and there was hardly any crab filling to be found. Sometimes when you have a feeling you should go with it. This meal was forgettable and i am going to forget about this restaurant. Maybe i will make a trip to Good Taste for lunch tomorrow. read more

My dad wanted to eat here because his mom used to make Subgum Chicken Chow Mein and when he saw they had the same dish on their menu, he decided we should try it. I doubt we will ever be back or recommend it. I'll start with mine. I had the Sesame Chicken. I have never had Sesame Chicken where the sesame seeds were inside the "egg" batter. It sounded interesting, so I thought I would give this alternative a try. The batter was not great. I prefer it a bit more egg so it's crispier. This was on the bready side. But, with sesame seeds inside the batter, it created a weird texture and disappointing mouthfeel. It especially discomforting to feel the breading slide down while swallowing and actually being able to feel the graininess of the seeds inside bread. My Sesame Chicken did not come with any sauce. Always before, it's accompanied by a golden and/or brown sweet sauce. Instead, the served the normal red-colored sweet sauce. That was disappointing, too. I like the sweetened chicken broth, vinegar, and sugar sauce that it normally comes with. My pork fried rice was good, but the pork pieces were so tiny, I couldn't even bite them. I also had the BBQ Pork Soup. The base soup was bland. The BBQ pork pieces were very dry and chewy. My dad's Subgum Chicken Chow Mein had very little sauce and not very much chicken. He was very saddened when he realized this was not even close to his expectations for a favorite dish his mother made. Dad also had the Hot and Sour Soup and said the flavor of that was neither hot nor very sour. As I said before, I don't think we'll return. It was just too disappointing and the flavors were very, very mild. read more

I really wanted some American-Chinese food - the greasy, almond chicken with gravy, not the stir fry, veggie-laden almond chicken you find around here, so we came to Dancing Dragon. I got my chicken and the gravy was fine but the chicken was terrible. The chicken was hard and tough - like those gross ends of a chicken breast after you defrost it in the microwave - only all of it was like this. My daughter's noodles tasted like they'd been cooked in old, burnt oil. I will never come back here. read more

I got the vegetable egg foo yung and it was exactly what I was looking for, if not better. The serving was huge and I couldn't even finish half of my meal. I also felt like the prices were very fair. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. What used to be a half decent go-to place has gone downhill. The food is mediocre, you now get less portions for your money, and the owner/manager is down right rude. Don't tell me we ordered incorrectly when what we got we something we NEVER would have ordered (food allergy) and our intended order was our standard carry out order. I came in late one Monday night and the owner greeted us nicely. It was unfortunately empty but my Hunan Shrimp was tasty and had tons of nice vegetables. It was a very large plate, about 12 shrimp. The sauce was little average and soup was a bit too thick and a little bland. But overall a good meal with an above average decor as well, considering the low review I had to balance this one out a bit. Nice owner/manager, we enjoyed him. I would come back. read more
