I went on to dance professionally with several ballet companies because of the training that I received from Mr. and Mrs. White, Bryan Koulman, and Melinda Pendleton. The Whites have created a beautiful school in Narberth that so many dancers, and their families, consider a second home. The training is mainly in the Vaganova method, however, each instructor provides a slightly different emphasis. Bryan Koulman is a seasoned choreographer and his classes are both challenging and dynamic. There are several performance opportunities throughout the year, including the Nutcracker and a Spring showcase, which allow students to diligently rehearse and perform regularly. I always appreciated the active adult ballet program, which many schools do not offer, because I could continue coming back to take class long after I had stopped dancing professionally. My mom would even take the adult class throughout my childhood, which I loved. I highly recommend the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet for both children and adults. This studio strikes the appropriate balance between being a serious training school while also facilitating close friendships among the students.

The windows were open, lights flashing, and energy flowing, I went upstairs to check it out and was shocked at how many people were up there dancing away. I was greeted by an enthusiastic and sweet girl, Paola, who explains she runs the Latin Dance Party first and third Friday each month at the Ballroom, she is with Controla Dance Academy. Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, and more! The party goes from 10-1:30, but things start at 8 with dance lessons. 15$ cover before 9, 20$ after. BYOB and BYOF, they do have water and snacks available for free. I usually grab a pizza from Ardmore Pizza and bring it up to share. DJ spinning tunes and loads of people dressed to kill, it's a fun time and well worth checking out! While you are there grab an event calendar, they have lots of dance functions every month.

At Reel Cinema sit where you want, which is good for people like me who inevitably try a few rows before finding my optimum place. The theater is a block away from Narberth's main drag. Definitely feels a little dated. But I don't care. Nostalgia! There was no writing instruction. In addition, the staff seemed to have neither talent, nor experience in working with children and regularly treated the kids as if they were much younger than they were. It was amateur hour to be sure. Finally, and I'm just going to be blunt, the staff were weird. If you're looking for some kind of legitimate writing experience for your kid, then look elsewhere. This is just oversold babysitting, and bad babysitting at that. But the food was actually pretty good.
