I bought teal and blue sapphire earrings from DW. Online it had made with gold/rose gold, but I asked if they could specifically make them using silver as a birthday gift for a friend. They did not charge me more for the change in setting, which I am so thankful bc I saved up for this present. They have such great service. I was able to communicate with them entirely via email. They kindly asked if I wanted to pick them up or have them delivered. I had them delivered. There was even a point in time when I was worried that they would get delivered to my home and I was traveling. I emailed them about my concern. They were willing to change the shipping address to where I was or hold on to the package without an additional charge. I asked them to wait. I was really worried that they were expensive and be left at my door and eventually stolen. They said the package would have to be signed but FedEx just left it at my door. Thank goodness I set up alerts so I was able to sneak away from work for a bit to grab the package. The earrings are gorgeous. They came in this beautiful box!! My friend loved them! I discovered Dana Walden last summer thanks to Yelp. I was planning to get my fiancée an engagement ring and wanted to do something special -- many friends had "their diamond guy who charges way less than retail" that I was supposed to get an amazing deal from, but I was consistently not impressed by those "their guy" experiences -- usually a non-stylish guy in a schlocky office building in midtown west, with nice stones to offer at a "good price" but the ring it would sit in was going to be "copied from Tiffany by one of my guys"... I've never had to buy jewelry before but this didn't feel right. It seemed like there wasn't enough focus on the craftsmanship or still of the ring itself. So I found Dana Walden (on Yelp), and based on the other reviews here, I went to meet Dana and Rad, his wife, in their studio on 5th ave. I was instantly impressed. Their space is elegant, and they spent an hour 1:1 with me walking me through the usual questions a male fiancée-to-be probably commonly has. I knew my now-fiancee loved her grandmother's engagement ring, which she wore every day -- it's a vintage art deco piece. I asked Dana and Rad if the new ring could be inspired by that one, but with an emerald cut. A few weeks later they had a mock-up for me to come see, and it was beautiful. The final piece is even more stunning than the one that inspired it -- they took influences from the migraine and balanced a main stone and two side stones. They even embedded a small colored stone on the inside, to add a personal touch for my fiancée that only she would see, as well as engraving the platinum band. For the stone itself -- they sourced a selection of beautiful pieces and they were nicer, for the same price range, as the ones that my friends' "I have a diamond guy" person could get. Our wedding is coming up and we went back in to see Dana and Rad this summer to have them make our bands. My future wife's band will now perfectly complement her engagement ring, and they did an excellent job with my ring as well. They were completely relaxed with their approach which made us feel extremely at ease. We were able to try an array of rings as well as look over different stones. In the end, we decided to go in a different direction with the e-ring but we were so impressed with their collection and customer care that we could not stop thinking about Dana and Rad's wedding band options. We decided that we would opt for matching Kent bands and reached back out to them months later. They remembered us, and their sales representative Kim, was super sweet to help us order custom bands. Kim was extremely communicative and answered every question we had. She (representing Dana and Rad) kept us in the loop every step of the way from fabrication to shipping. We felt really valued as clients, and could not be happier with the finished result. The bands turned out gorgeous and the photos ALMOST do them justice. We knew we wanted something off the beaten path (pun intended) and Rad's unique take on the rose gold beaten band was a breath of fresh air. The Kent was a mixture of unique, minimal, and artisan - a hybrid of design that was hard to find elsewhere. Neither of us are flashy nor do we "love" jewelry, and the Kent fit that perfect sweet spot between simple yet elegant but NOT ostentatious. The rose gold blend is perfection with true hues of copper gently mixed with gold - the end result is a soft warm rose gold that makes me smile every time I look down. Let me begin by saying, the week after I gave the ring to my (then) girlfriend she said she couldn't imagine designing a more beautiful ring even if she was part of the process from the beginning. A big compliment from a fashion designer! Working with Dana and Rad was an absolute pleasure and we found that balance immediately. In our first meeting I just wanted to see if I felt comfortable working with them so we could take it from there but I left knowing they were the ones that I wanted to create our ring. This was a surprise proposal so I went to Dana and Rad with a infosheet about my girlfriend, some mood board imagery and also some rings that I liked from their website. When I arrived they had all those rings ready for me to look at and a selection of other rings for me to look at based on what I was looking for. They were also amazing at picking out a diamond for me. They even gave us a third-party evaluation of the diamond for free (something you need for insurance) which was higher than they sold it to me for. If there was anything that was going to move the pricing above my range they were never pushy but always explained what the value would be and left the choice entirely up to me. I can't say enough about how great it was to work with Dana and Rad to create the perfect engagement ring for my now wife, as well as our wedding bands. We were looking to do something a bit more unique than what is available at typical jewelers, and a good friend who had some custom rings made recommended we meet with Dana and Rad. I'm really glad we did. They met with us to go through some design choices, and my wife fell in love with the Celine design in platinum. That was the easy part. With a design settled on, it was time to source the stone, which could have been really stressful. I didn't know (and frankly still don't) know anything more than the basics about diamonds, but Dana and Rad walked me through the process, and working with my budget and size requirements, helped me find the perfect stone. They sourced a bunch for me to look at, and really got me way more for my money than I could have gotten anywhere else. I did look at other stones independently, but Dana and Rad made it infinitely easier on me. Spending more than most people spend on a new car on a small rock without a clear market can be pretty stressful, but they made it really easy, transparent, and as stress free as possible.
