[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dan Marc is the worst, POS company I ever dealt with! What a farce![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from Lowes in late November. It worked fine for about one month, until my family came home from vacation. When my wife used the dishwasher it left a huge puddle of water on the floor. I turned off the water, immediately noticed the water was coming from under the dishwasher, and I pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter to inspect. Sure enough, I immediately found the problem - a cracked water inlet valve. I called Whirlpool Customer Service and they dispatched Dan Marc Appliance repair to service the machine under warrantee. The technician, Rohan, showed up and saw I had pulled out the dishwasher. He took a picture of the dishwasher, accused me of having performed work on the machine, and immediately left my house. I asked him why he was leaving. He told me I had voided my warrantee by working on the machine. I told him I did not work on the machine, I had simply pulled the machine out to take a look at what was causing the leak. He reluctantly came back in and I had to point out the leak was coming from the water inlet valve, which I had explained to Whirlpool Customer Service when I called about the problem. He went back to his brand new van, shuffled around a handful of empty boxes, and told me he does not have the part. He kept accusing me of having worked on the machine with complaint after complaint. I noticed not only did he have any parts in his truck but there were no tools either!!! After grilling me for a receipt, and a lot of other assorted information, he told me he would order the part and it should be available next week. Over two weeks later, Dan Marc called to inform me they now had the part and they would send a technician. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rohan returned, knocked on the door, and then headed back to his truck. I caught him just as he was about to get back into his truck and he said "I was going to leave. Nobody answered the door"![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He turned to me on the walkway and handed me a small, open box. "Here ya go." He would not install the part and claimed he did more than he should have, being I had "worked on the machine" and that "you look like a smart guy. You can install it yourself"! We've needed to use Dan Marc on two separate occasions for Kitchenaid dishwashers still under warranty. The first time, I was 9 months pregnant and the second time we had a 1 month old at home. Unfortunately we are forced to use them because they are the only certified repair provider in NYC and if we don't use them our warranty would be voided. In both cases we went about a month without a working dishwasher. The first service call was made for a dishwasher that was flooding our basement. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We booked through the Kitchenaid website, then on the day of the appointment no repair person showed up even though we'd received a confirmation email.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we called Dan Marc they said "their system isn't synced with Kitchenaid" and we'd need to call Dan Marc to confirm our appointments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The earliest appointment was a week out. Long wait times to reschedule is another theme with them. The second repair calls are ongoing. Our dishwasher broke mid January and now 2/11, we are still without a working dishwasher. The situation is worsened by the fact that we have an immunocompromised newborn at home who we need the dishwasher for in order to sterilize his bottles. So far Dan Marc has cancelled two service appointments on us. first time for "bad weather" (it snowed less than an inch) and most recently for a "sick repair person." Again they needed to reschedule several days out. Supposedly they will come this Friday to do the simple repair, but we'll see if they cancel again. Looking at other reviews it seems like most of the bad experiences are around warranty service calls. Today, a technician from Dan Marc Appliance came to my home to inspect my stove, which stopped working. The stove was purchased just four months ago and is still under warranty through Whirlpool. The technician, who introduced himself as "Stan," spent about two minutes examining the stove. I explained the issue and mentioned that I've already been without a functioning stove for over a week. Guy shows up at 3, tell me the ice tray is broke and was gonna leave. I told him I already tried to replace it once and that wasn't the issue. On 11/05, we called about an FULLY FUNCTIONAL electric cooktop that had a cracked glass (ONLY) Although, It still worked , we read it was dangerous to use because it was electric. On 11/10, The top was replaced by tech Chris H. costing a total of $762.92, with $309.95 SERVICE FEE! This should have been quick a quick install but it took over an hour to finish because the power buttons did not work. At no time, did the tech consider that lower unit was broken ( it had seen it working before he replaced the glass). After numerous attempts, turning the main power on/off each time, it seemed to be working. (Unfortunately we failed to notice his not on the repair sheet that unit had "tested fine".) Not how I would describe it. On 11/11, The unit worked on/off, still needing During this time, the unit still required frequent power resets, sometimes more than once while cooking, or the pwr level only 2 to 5. We called for service to come back. On 11/13, we thought we it was going to work, still requiring reset but not as often It DID NOT ! On 11/22, we had had enough and called to scheduled service. On 11/27, Trevor came on 11/27, and pressed the buttons a few times, reset pwr too, and concluded that the "buttons" were working but the rest of the unit had to be replaced. We said NO and he wrote that a supervisor would call us back. On12/16, we called since NO ONE had called us. My husband spoke to Dean who then spoke to a supervisor and was told they weren't doing anything since Chris H. had said it "tested OK). It's been several weeks now and Dan Marc has not called me to book an appointment. When Whirlpool reached out to them, Dan Marc claimed they tried reaching out and left me a voicemail which cannot be further from the truth. Purchased my brand new house last April that happened to come with brand new appliances. Kitchen Aid wouldn't have been my first choice since my prior experiences with their products have been less than stellar but I had no choice. My ice maker broke so I scheduled a warranty repair with the manufacturer who forwarded me to Dan Marc. I spoke with them twice about how to verify that it was still covered. The friendly associate told me that I could show the technician my deed which would serve as proof that the house was less than a year old and therefore the thing was still under warranty. I figured this to be fairly common since builders don't often leave receipts for the appliances they install. I left work early which I NEVER do to be home in time to meet the technician. Literally the first thing he said to me was to confirm that it wasn't under warranty. I reiterated my conversation with their office staff, showed him my deed and he insisted that he couldn't help me. Then he left. Really? I called Dan Marc who told me that I needed to call their dispatch department Monday morning to discuss the issue. Wow. Just wow comes to mind when dealing with this so called company. I am only leaving one star because its the only way i can leave a review. 4 visits to fix a dishwasher and was never fixed!! First visit, tech comes out for a leaky dishwasher, looks at it, says its not leaking. My wife tells him it takes about 10 minutes before it leaks and he says well I don't have that much time so I'll order a new seal. Second visit, same tech come out with the seal, looks at the dishwasher and now says I can't put in the new seal until you remove the floor so i can pull out the dishwasher! 3rd visit, company calls a few days before and says they have to reschedule, have to wait another week.' Comes out for the 3rd visit, DOES NOT PULL OUT THE DISHWASHER, puts in the new seal and leaves. 10 minutes later its leaking!! I call the tech right away and ask him to come back and he does, checks it and then says I'll order the other seal. I say wait!! Didn't you replace the seal?? He says i replaced the outer seal, now i have to replace the inner seal. After regaining consciousness i asked, if you didn't see where it was leaking and there is more than one seal, why not replace them all? Both he and his supervisor said that's how they diagnose the problem. 4th visit, day of the visit, scheduled for a 7-10 am visit, I get a call from dispatch at 830 and they say we have to reschedule...AGAIN!! Comes out for the 4th visit, AGAIN, NEVER PULLS OUT THE DISHWASHER, replaces the inner seal and of course it still leaks!!! By this time i have been dealing with someone from the extended warranty company that uses this poor excuse of a company and was told if they don't fix it we'll pay it out so I didn't even bother calling them back!! I just got the check from the warranty company so thank God for some things! THEY ARE THE WORST APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS AND FORGET ABOUT FIXING THEM!! Called Dan Marc because they were referred by Kitchen aide., I called and explained we needed the gasket replaced in the refrigerator door. I told them this on the phone as I was scheduling the appointment. I originally called to get the replacement part but was told a repair person would be required for the job. They knew what they were coming to do. On the day of the scheduled appointment they arrived and told me before even opening the door to the fridge that a new door would be required and he won't replace the gasket. That would have been nice to hear as I was scheduling the appointment (again he announced this before he even opened refrigerator's). So basically they screwed us out of $147 but we would never call them for anything else again and I certainly will do what I can to let people know how they operate. read more
