The worst appliance repair experience ever! Tech visited my home to determine issue with built in Jenn Air microwave and noted a new part was needed. After several calls for an update and 2 months after the initial service call, was advised I could follow directly with Jenn Air for the status of the needed part! Seriously? What would I have to do with reaching out to JA for a part and why would I be involved? After 4 emails to Dan Marc and 3 calls with their customer service, nothing was done and the charge disputed with AMEX. AMEX refunded the total amount and I strongly suggest never using this company read more

We've needed to use Dan Marc on two separate occasions for Kitchenaid dishwashers still under warranty. The first time, I was 9 months pregnant and the second time we had a 1 month old at home. Unfortunately we are forced to use them because they are the only certified repair provider in NYC and if we don't use them our warranty would be voided. In both cases we went about a month without a working dishwasher. The first service call was made for a dishwasher that was flooding our basement. We booked through the Kitchenaid website, then on the day of the appointment no repair person showed up even though we'd received a confirmation email. When we called Dan Marc they said "their system isn't synced with Kitchenaid" and we'd need to call Dan Marc to confirm our appointments. The earliest appointment was a week out. Long wait times to reschedule is another theme with them. The second repair calls are ongoing. Our dishwasher broke mid January and now 2/11, we are still without a working dishwasher. The situation is worsened by the fact that we have an immunocompromised newborn at home who we need the dishwasher for in order to sterilize his bottles. So far Dan Marc has cancelled two service appointments on us. first time for "bad weather" (it snowed less than an inch) and most recently for a "sick repair person." Again they needed to reschedule several days out. Supposedly they will come this Friday to do the simple repair, but we'll see if they cancel again. Looking at other reviews it seems like most of the bad experiences are around warranty service calls. I wonder if they are cancelling warranty service calls, which I'm assuming make them less money, to prioritize other repair requests. read more

Incompetent and a rip-off, do not use them. Would give zero stars if I could. I have an issue where my washing machine gets off balance during the spin cycle every time we run it. It happens regardless of the size of the load. We've had the washer for 5 years and this just started happening recently. The Dan Marc tech came, ran some diagnostics by pressing buttons on the panel, then told me there was nothing wrong with the washing machine. I explained that there definitely was something wrong because the washer rocks uncontrollably during the spin cycle and it never did that before. He said we must be loading it wrong, so I said why don't we just run a spin cycle so you can see the problem for yourself. He said he didn't have time for that and left abruptly. He spent about 5 minutes on the problem and didn't fix it. That was a $349 service charge. read more

Dan Marc appliance was contracted by Whirlpool warranty, to look at a refrigerator on April 2023 that had a damaged light sensor. The refrigerator was deemed unrepairable and I was delivered a new one . The new (replacement) refrigerator has a clanking sound coming from the light sensor that cannot be fixed. Whirlpool agrees to replace it as well. Dan Marc appliance indicates in the report that the refrigerator is working fine. When I contact the condescending Diane, she says that " all newer Whirlpool appliances have this sound," she also says that the Whirlpool she owns clanks!" Diane, this may have worked years ago, when we were taught to be guidable and not advocate for oneself. I was not able to continue talking to this individual, whom lacked empathy, did not listen to what I was saying and refused to understand that a new item should be clear of any defects, regardless of how well it is functioning. An abomination. I rent in Manhattan. My landlord bought a home warranty from New Leaf (Texas) who engages Dan Marc (NJ) to make repairs on appliances under their warranty. Two yrs ago, the dryer (Maytag) wasn't working properly. Dan Marc sent (the only Maytag repairman they said they had for my area.) Two and a half months went by. In which DM loves to tell you/me that replacement parts are required but not available. I think the drier repairman was high on substance bc he couldn't function... He came in, the dryer was near the front door, he played loud rap. He finally had a "dampness sensor" to install but (even with help from someone on the phone) he couldn't do it. Needed another part. Needed more parts. Parts are always "not available" and can require weeks before DM says they've received them. Then, it's at least a week before they say they can schedule the repair man to install it. After two and a half months of no working dryer, the superintendent here suggested having the bldg.'s laundry units' repair man look at it. He wasn't Maytag certified. All he did was flip a switch and it was "fixed." It didn't need a new part. The current refrigerator repair is going on two months. Parts and moving the full-size unit out of its niche are delay tactics. Same scene, different play... Regardless of Title (Maytag, KitchenAid, etc.). There are lots of repair outfits to choose from (5 STARS) but the home warranty deal gives the job to a 1+ star company. This is the contracted service company for Whirlpool refrigerators in my area. Two calls for service for the same problem MONTHS apart. (Freezer was fine, fridge registering 70°.) Ten days for Tech #1, he fixed it in two back2back visits (part was needed). Call #2 was a COMPLETE disaster; 7-day wait, tech cleared the blockage but forgot to replace the thermostat. 5-day wait to replace & 24 hours later fridge is registering 80°. My next service date is 7 days out. So, THREE WEEKS living with 5 styrofoam coolers & daily runs for ice. Yea ... no. Called a local handyman on Wednesday, he came Thursday night, and 45 minutes later he was gone with his fee + tip. This morning (Friday) the fridge is registering 38°. Very fast, professional, and proactive. We had a dishwasher with an intermittent problem. It was "seen" three times by another service, and worked maybe once each time before conking out again. I see all the complaints are regarding Maytag/Whirlpool appliances. I don't know what the issue is; I have two sets of washer/dryers, Whirlpool upstairs and the Maytag Pet Pro in the basement (my dogs have their own laundry equipment due to accumulated pet hair). I used Dan Marc back in December to service a Kitchen Aid S/B/S refrigerator/freezer and was very satisfied. I have another problem caused by my overloading it in preparation for a pool party and scheduled a Dan Marc technician for tomorrow. Perhaps this vendor isn't great with Whirlpool brands but I have had no issue with Kitchen Aid. read more

This company has to be one of the absolute worst when it comes to customer service or I should say egregious lack of customer service and responsiveness. Obviously coming from the top down, as my brother spoke directly with the vice president of the company and was met with absolute despicable disrespect and gaslighting. Charging us over $1000. for 1 1/2 hours of work, that's more then my NYC attorney charges! And to add insult to injury they are ineffective and mismanaged with their scheduling resulting in us waiting now over three weeks for the service person to come fix our fridge. They made us wait over two weeks to begin with to even come to diagnose the issue as well. That's because their bottom line is the almighty dollar. So they continue to charge ridiculous high prices for their service which they make you wait an inordinate amount of time for because they only have one person who can do it. Dan Marc is an authorized dealer in my area for Whirlpool who makes Kitchen Aid, Jenn Air among others . I will never do business again with either company. At this point I would rather go out and buy a new fridge then pay Dan Marc one penny of my money! Judging by the number of bad reviews and very unhappy customers who also confirm that Dan Marc doesn't know what they're doing as well as are extremely rude to their customers, most people feel the same as I do. I wish zero stars was an option. DanMark was recommended by JennAir as an authorized repair company. I have a JennAir cooktop , and one of the knobs stopped turning, so I was unable to light one of the 5 burners. Dan Marc repai people came to give and estimate, and charged me about $180 for that visit. They said they needed to order parts and that the repair would cost about 600 bucks. I agreed, they came back a few weeks later, wrong parts. The estimate went up to abt 800 bucks, I still agreed. A few weeks later they returned, but with wrong parts. Estimate increased to 1100 bucks. For one knob. I resigned myself to just replacing the cooktop, but due to COVID, the replacement was unavailable. End of story: A few months later. I gave it one more try with a local repair person. He fixed it in about 5 minutes with no parts for 139 bucks. Moral: Stay away from DanMarc. They are incompetent , dishonest crooks. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with Dan Marc "Technicians" through My KitchenAid downdraft. They sent the first technician who was clueless on how the appliance was supposed to work and was at a loss of why my downdraft was "seesawing" back and forth. I had to then meet a second "senior technician" who was also not knowledgeable about the product and the problem. He called a KitchenAid tech who was a thousand miles away for help on the matter. The KitchenAid Tech on the phone was the one pushing for the issue to be an installation error. Dan Marc left without a diagnosis. I followed up and they said they were ordering parts to fix the issue. They then changed their diagnosis to reflect KitchenAids installation error. Dan Marc is Not qualified to install any appliance not should they be trusted with customer support to help with a problem. They don't follow up in a timely fashion and will certainly side with the big company who subs them work.... not surprising. Beware of doing business with these people. read more

I called for service back on Dec 29 2020 and Dan Marc Service repair guys comes out and says he gonna order all these parts cause he's not sure what the problem is. Now fast forward to today nearly a full month w/o a refrigerator. I've Been calling to see if the parts are in about once a week. I get the same reply, "Only some of the parts are in. You'll have to wait until the other parts come in." and they will not send out the repairman with the parts that did come in to see if that fixes the problem. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I get told "She will be in tomorrow". Do,not Deal with Dan Marc, Better yet don't buy shitty Whirlpool /Kitchen Aid BS products. Dan Marc was called to install a new gasket on an out of warranty Whirlpool dishwasher. They did not come with the part so the Service Fee did not include the labor charge for the part. The technician advised additional parts were advisable and there would only be a parts charge since the minimum labor for the gasket would cover the installation of these parts. Dan Marc now desires an additional Service Fee to insert a replacement of a defective part only purchased because their technician advised. The part in question is the rinse aid dispenser which continues to register full so it's non-operation was not realized within their 30 day period for not charging another Service Fee. First, use another repair service that will come with parts so a second appointment is not necessary and the labor charge is considered either part of the Service Fee or included. For example, LG's service came with the part to repair of my washer. Do you go to a doctor that requires a second appointment when at the first appointment he knows the advice he will be giving at the second appointment? Second, be extra careful when ordering parts solely on basis of technician's advice that part price is small and there will be no additional labor or Service Fee to install the part. Did Dan Marc know the replacement part being installed was defective and not immediately noticeable so they can charge an extra Service Fees is unknowable? Wow. That's all I can say. I called to repair my fridge in Oct 2022. It is now March 2023 and they still can't fix the fridge. This company has been at my house over 6 times and put in multiple parts. Fridge is still not working. They are also the most difficult company to get scheduled and their schedule is booked out very far. I would imagine its because they only have 1 person that can actually do anything. Many times they send a tech out and he tell you "Yep its broken" and they will call you when they order parts and they can get back out. HOLY COW ITS TERRIBLE. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. This is a useless company that whirlpool customer care put us in touch with when our oven range died after l cleaned it with easy off. It kept showing a F2 error and beeping and would not work. Whirlpool made an appointment for us so Dan Marc would do a diagnostic and repair the oven and fridge. Firstly this company is so greedy for money that they call you and have a computer generated caller telling you many times that the visit for the diagnostic is 129 for the oven and 90 dollars for the fridge. It is excessive. The repairman was grouchy and more interested in charging me upfront for the diagnostics and then, after a superficial inspection of the oven and fridge, told me the parts were not available and it would cost me 800 dollars to repair the oven even if we had the parts. He said it was old and not worth it. For the fridge, he turned on the wate link at least so the water dispenser would work. He said to go to a repair.com site to Feb replacement door shelves but that the bins were not available. He suggested replacing it too. I merely asked him to help me confirm the measurements for he appliances to get the right size replacements. He started to complain heavily that it wasn't his job and did l not know how to measure. I told him it was the least he could do since he did not fix anything. What an unpleasant experience. I could have used the money l spent on the diagnostics towards the purchase of new appliances. Instead l ended up paying both for diagnostics and new appliances. I do not recommend this company at all! read more

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. We were assigned Dan Mar from the contracted warranty program we chose. Our refrigerator stopped working in mid December 2021. First, we had covid in our house, so we waited the required 2 weeks to schedule the appointment as per Dan Mar's request. Fine. Then, it took two weeks to get a technician to come to us. Okay. Then, when he came, he said he couldn't fix it and would have to order a part which would take 3 more weeks. Alright, what choice do we have. Then, yesterday, Efrain comes at 3:30 pm. Again, no problem, I was told he would be there between1-4 pm. By 4:30 Efrain was stating that something was wrong. He couldn't call technical support because his phone was dead. I offered him a charger, he turned it down. He used my phone and got nowhere. No one at his office answered his calls, he did reach another technician, but he couldn't help him. Now, he tells me that he has to leave and he is sorry, but now the freezer also doesn't work. He promised that he or someone from his company would contact me early this morning. To assure that I received a phone call, I called Dan Mar myself, left a message and never received a return phone call. What?? Of course, no one called me back and by two pm, I finally called them myself and was told that they could schedule service on February 10, 2022, more than two weeks from now. Really??? I asked to speak with a supervisor, after 20 plus minutes on hold, I was told that the manager is off today and would get back to me tomorrow. I asked to speak with the owner of the company and was told that he is on business trips (plural). I asked the person on the phone what I am supposed to do. He had no clue. As a business owner of a service business myself, I am confident that we never treat our customers this way. Our customers are our boss, they can always speak to a supervisor, manager or even an owner. Our job is to resolve their problems, not put them off. So now I must wait for Susan to contact me tomorrow morning, if she ever calls. I would not ever use this company for anything. We were sent here as the contracted service company. We bought a new Whirlpool fridge in the spring and realized in the summer that the door was defective. We called Whirlpool and they sent Dan Marc. They ordered the door on the extra-slow plan, and all the while, we had to live with a messed up fridge. Finally, the door arrived directly at our house instead of being sent to them. We had to carry it inside ourselves and leave it around our house. We called multiple times to get them to come and finish the warranty service. Finally, we called Whirlpool, which got through to them quickly. They scheduled the install. The tech was nice enough, but they didn't take away the old part. We were left figuring out what to do with a broken refrigerator door. If the defective fridge wasn't enough to scare me off Whirlpool, the awful contractors they use for warranty work certainly is. Stay away from Dan Marc, and stay away from Whirlpool. UPDATE: It turns out that local trash companies consider refrigerator parts to be the responsibility of the manufacturer. The manufacturer told us that whatever Dan Marc does is their policy. So we are left with a refrigerator door. Avoid Whirlpool! read more

This is the most unprofessional place, DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. My Jennair oven was still under warrantee so the place I bought it, which I used to be reputable called DanMarc. Since there was an error code on the oven screen, it was clear what the problem was, but it took DanMarc over a month to get the part. When someone finally came to replace the part, I told him that needs to wear a mask in my house, he said "no problem" and got a mask from his truck. However, the minute I was out of sight, he took the mask off. Meanwhile, he put pieces of the oven and his clothing and whatnot all over my kitchen, no respect for my home. When he was done, he asked for a check because he had trouble using the credit card app, so I gave him a check. 3 days later, I get a bill from DanMarc for the same amount in the check. read more

Came to my house 4x for the same fridge that was under warranty, no notes of other techs, each tech tried to just leave without touching it with a range of excuses. Their reports were literally empty, no details, made up comments and cannot get past the operator to speak to any "management." The operator tries to push you off on hold, seriously a mess over there. Never have seen anything like this and we renovated our entire house and went through a bunch of messy situations. STAY AWAY!!! Incompetent Technician misdiagnosed the issue!! My oven was not working. Technician came and stated that he identified two electronic parts that were no longer working and needed to be replaced for the repair to be complete. However the parts were discontinued according to their sources. I asked them if I ordered the factory parts, if they would install them and they refused. They stated they cannot work on the oven, even if I ordered the parts. I wound up searching online and found the "discontinued" parts in five minutes. I ordered the parts myself and had a technician friend install the parts. However after installing the brand new parts, Oven still doesn't work 100%. I called Dan Marc again, telling them that the parts they stated were no longer functioning originally were replaced and oven was still not working. I asked them to come back in to examine the oven again and was even willing to pay them their very expensive $115 service charge. Customer service stated that since another tech touched the appliance at some point they can never touch the appliance again (??? Really ???). I told them, I did not want them to repair the oven, just to have their tech come over and give me another opinion with the new parts. They refused. Bottom line, I called them out on their mistake and they did not want to own up to it or help an existing customer willing to pay. Do yourself a favor and stay away!! They have incompetent techs who will misdiagnose your issue and cost you even more $$ and headaches. There are plenty of other techs in the area. read more
