I highly recommend Dr. Banh and his staff. My daughter has a significant intellectual disability and was born with severe dental crowding and crooked teeth. For more than 15 years, I searched for an orthodontist who would be willing and able to treat her. During that time, we had consultations with more than two dozen orthodontists in both private practices and teaching institutions. Nearly every doctor told me they could not help because my daughter was unable to consistently follow directions due to her disability. One even told me not to "interfere with Mother Nature." Year after year, I continued searching, hoping to find someone who would give my daughter a chance. Every orthodontist explained that they could not develop a treatment plan because my daughter was unable to complete a panoramic X-ray, which is essential for treatment planning. Dr. Banh was different. From the very beginning, he was willing to help despite knowing the challenges he would face with my daughter's behavior and intellectual disability. His assistant, Selina, was also incredible. She successfully obtained a panoramic X-ray--something no other orthodontic office had been able to accomplish. In more than 15 years, I found only two orthodontists willing to treat my daughter. However, only Dr. Banh was able to obtain the necessary imaging and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. After reviewing her X-rays, he recommended extractions because of the severe overcrowding. Looking back, I truly believe his treatment plan was the right one for my daughter. Before treatment, brushing her teeth was a daily struggle. Her teeth were so crowded and overlapped so severely that food constantly became trapped, making it difficult to keep her teeth clean. Today, her orthodontic treatment is complete, her teeth are beautifully straight, and brushing her teeth is so much easier. Seeing her smile now brings so much joy to our entire family. Throughout her treatment, there were many appointments where my daughter screamed, cried, resisted treatment, and had difficulty cooperating. Despite these challenges, Dr. Banh, Selina, and the entire office staff were always patient, compassionate, and respectful. They never made us feel unwelcome or like my daughter was too difficult to treat. Instead, they treated her with kindness, dignity, and genuine care. What impressed me most about Dr. Banh was not only his clinical expertise but also his integrity and compassion. Hi, Was by Dr. Banh yesterday for one of Hunter's progress checks. I would have to say, we are thrilled with Dr. Banh. Hunter's progress is doing great and progressing right on schedule.. The staff are AMAZING. They don't seem to mind that Hunter and I always seem to wonder in 15 or 20 minutes before his appointment. They never get upset, they just call him in and get to work. Follow up appointments are scheduled after each session and I have never had a problem getting an appointment time that I requested. The prices were reasonable and the service top notch. He monitored her, at no cost, until she was eligible for braces. Once Dr. Banh installed the braces, he was very patient with my grandaughter, who could be uncooperative in the dental chair, even when she would remove her wires on more then one occasion. I was extremely disappointed today with the service I received from this office. I had a 4:15 appointment and arrived on time. Since there were a few patients waiting there already I assumed they were running a little late. After waiting around for half an hour I noticed they had started calling in patients that clearly had come in after we had so I inquired about when we were going to get called in. The secretary was surprised we were still waiting around and said she would check. A couple of minutes later she came back and said we were next, that they'd made a mistake and had "checked my son out" by accident. We waited around a few more minutes and my son was called in. I was naive to think that they would correct their mistake and put my son ahead of the other patients since it was clearly our turn. As we sat there for another thirty minutes we had to endure the torture of watching everyone who had come in after us get worked on and leave in a timely manner. I believe the office could have handled this differently. They should have corrected their mistake right away. My son's procedure only takes 5, 10 minutes tops. Why they thought it was ok to make us sit there and wait a whole hour is beyond me. I think the office personnel could have AND should have handled this in a professional manner. The only person who apologized for the error was the secretary and it was obviously not her fault. I thought this office had higher standards and was better than most but after today I have my doubts. It's a shame that this is only our 3rd visit and I've had to experience this kind of service. read more
