My daughter had braces here many years ago, and more recently I returned after an accident in 2021 that caused jaw shifting, headaches, and teeth grinding at night. Dr Wong's office has been helping my son with his expander/braces and everything has been great! Over the holiday season, my son's expander broke.... It was Christmas Day and we did not now what to do so we called Dr Wong... not only did he answer the phone on Christmas but he showed up at the office and took the expander out! A 2.5 is my rate. I've been pondering writing this post as I'm still in disbelief. My 2 children have been serviced by this establishment for PHASE 1 for slightly over 2 yrs. Great staff, great service. No complaints. Now, we discussed briefly the fees for PHASE 2 and unfortunately they were significantly higher (no problem, I understand) so I decided to shop around. Upon getting quotes I was informed that my ORTHO insurance allowance/coverage was used MORE times than I was aware of, without my consent or knowledge (now, this could have been declared in my contract upon sign up but it was not on MY hardcopy). Regardless, what is done is done, but I can't help to feel like something illegal was done. Therefore, I will be discontinuing my business there. For future customers, they have a great staff but make sure to ask THE DOCTOR WHAT WILL BE CHARGED to yourself and/or your insurance company for any VOLUNTEERED OR offered OR suggested services. It's NOT free no matter how it's demonstrated (even when the doctor says "Don't worry about it"). I always asked the fee, guess I should have asked twice because it feels like I was lied to. read more

I've been a pt with wong orthodontics for at least 4yrs. My dentist Dr. Bill of Covina Hills recommends this place to everyone. I'm the broken record story of "I had braces as a kid and didn't wear my retainers". I finally finished school, working and wanted to invest in my smile and paid for My Invisalign and have been very committed to the process. Service had been decent, until recently, I called the office bc I lost my retainers and I asked what are my options, I didn't want to wait too long and have my teeth shift. The secretary was a bit condescending, she said I could order my retainer for $550, but they probably won't fit and I'll have to pay again for a new pair after that. Personally, a $550 charge hurt my heart, so I asked about payment plan options and was told that wasn't an option. I want to be responsible and asked if I could come in for a consultation. I came in, 10min into my appt, the finance manager came to me and gave me an invoice estimate for $2,350!!! Literally my response was, I just lost my retainer and it's been a little over 1 week and a half! There was hardly any conversation and explanation, I felt very rushed and was asked, " So what do you want to do?" I was so frustrated, I felt like they didn't care about me as a pt unless I was a $$$. Contacting finance manager seems difficult. ***More-so, I was told by staff that if I lost my retainer in the initial 3 months, it would be covered at 0 cost!! I didn't feel comfortable lying making a false claim so I never did that. But now, I feel very taken advantage of! read more

I can't believe this man sent me a Christmas card. Almost a year ago I signed up for Invisalign to straighten my teeth. Almost immediately my gums started to recede. This resulted in two visits to have gum surgery, at quite an expense to me. I had paid in full to save money. When I saw him about the recession (after 3 months) and asked for a partial refund, he kept putting me off. I said I wasn't informed that this could happen and he said it was in the paperwork. Our 14 year old son has been a client for 6 months now. The Doctor and staff have all been friendly during appointments. I had heard about issues pertaining to appointments when we were considering this office, but because of all the great reviews we chose this office anyways. What we have experienced in recent appointments is what appears to be inefficiency in scheduling. Not sure if they have more clients than they can manage or if they just don't care. Most recent experience includes after an appointment when my son departed the office he was advised for his parents to call and schedule a next appointment 8 weeks out. We tried calling right away and got sent to voicemail. We tried again later and continued to get sent to voicemail. After leaving messages and no response a couple weeks went by and we decided to email. The office sent a text message back advising they could get us in to the Upland office. Kind of an inconvenience for us when we live virtually walking distance from the Covina office. We appreciate that there was an alternative option and then finally received some kind of acknowledgement of our efforts to reach them. This past weekend he bit down on his bottom bracket and it broke. We have been persistently trying to reach the office to get him in asap. Again no answer, no response to the multiple voicemails left, or replies to text messages sent to them. The office is located in the heart of Covina on the corner of Badillo and 4th Ave. They have a small lot behind the office, however we've never encountered not being able to find a spot. read more

My son has been a patient of Dr. Wong's since December 2019 and he STILL HAS HIS BRACES ON!!! The first six months were great, but since then it has all gone down hill. Terrible experience! You cannot make appointments. They are impossible to get a hold of. Awful communication in general! Dr. Wong uses my child as an excuse for his ineptitude. He blames my son for his inability to give for proper treatment. We're going on 4 years with little progress and according to Dr. Wong it's all my son's fault. We started treatment in 2019 with Invisalign and it has been an absolute nightmare. We were promised a short treatment and 4 years later, we are told it'll be about another year. The treatment plan has changed so many times and Dr Wong is very condescending and always blames my kid. It is very difficult to get an appointment and if you have to reschedule, it'll be a very long wait to get a new appointment. If there is an issue with the trays, it also takes at least 6 weeks to get new trays. Communication is terrible. I regret selecting Wong Orthodontics and would not recommend it. read more

My son has been a patient at Dr. Wong's office for the last 4yrs and counting. The care team in the back is great, they're friendly, thorough, and mindful of my child's comfort throughout his visit. However, with the exception of Gabby who is the epitome of great customer service, the front office staff is unfriendly, condescending, and quick to retaliate when asked for their manager's information. Both members teamed up when I asked for their manager's information, and the name or the staff member I wanted to file a complaint against. The staff member stood behind the other member and both were back and forth with me trying to discredit my initial complaint regarding their condescending tone and unprofessionalism. The entire interaction was so unprofessional and embarrassing. I understand tardiness has a ripple effect, I own that, but do not be condescending in front of a waiting room full of patients, either implement the tardy policy in that moment and reschedule me, or shut up about it, and move on. There was this back and forth about the policy, and this self importance because she's doing me some sort of favor for allowing us to be scene. Lady, reschedule me, Id rather drive back and forth, then to hear another minute of your tardy policy. Period. read more

This review is not for the quality of orthodontics service. Dr. Wong is a very good doctor. However, the appointment availability is AWFUL! Appointments are hard to get and sometimes we've had to wait months to get in. I'm now worried about how my daughter's teeth will adjust because she has had to wait several months for the next appointment and her teeth are probably adjusting slowly. It's too late to change now because I've already paid, but if I hadn't I would change offices to somewhere with more availability. It's almost impossible to get an appointment every 6-10 weeks. It usually takes months and when we do get an appointment, Dr. Wong is sometimes out and we have to see a different doctor. If you are deciding on an orthodontist believe the reviews when they say you CANNOT get an appointment. read more

Cons: -scheduling is horrible, they're only opened 4 days / week and will schedule you months out, any questions or concerns or emergencies will have to wait -Invisalign trays take take 4-6 months to prepare, if for some reason your teeth aren't tracking you'll have to wait half a year for new trays -they provide 30+ trays at a time (red flag) most places will give 10 trays at a time with constant check ins to ensure the trays are tracking however since, it is so difficult to schedule an appointment here, if there are any issues with your trays it takes months to schedule an appointment and months to receive updated trays -they don't offer free whitening at the end of the service like most clinics -my service was expected to take a year, however I'm already starting on year 3 -I chose this place due to it being slightly cheaper than other places nearby, but it's not worth it, check out western dental nearby, my sister just finished her treatment there, and she started a year after me -they don't offer routine cleanings like most clinics, you'll have to schedule routine whitenings elsewhere -there is one person in billing, she is clearly overworked Pros: the staff is nice read more

They have awful appointment availability and schedule you for one time and set your appointment for another time... this has happened to me twice now, I literally put the appointment in my calendar in my phone while I am making it and then when I come for the appointment they told me that I have missed it already and basically called me a liar to my face. The assistants in the back are always very friendly and courteous, the orthodontists are friendly but always very rushed. Growing up I had braces but never wore my retainers... so now I'm back to square one. Thankfully I have Wong Orthodontics to support with my Invisalign journey AKA braces part 2. While I dread the fact that I have to go through this again, I am excited that this time around I have the freedom to remove my liners when need be. I have had my Invisalign for a couple of months and have no problems with them. I have gone to one check-up, which was quick and painless! The set up of the office makes me feel comfortable as they have free WiFi, coffee, tea, treats, and even a game area for kids! They conveniently have two sinks and disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste by the waiting room so that you can clean your teeth BEFORE meeting with the doctors!
