Straightforward and to the point. Exactly what you should ask for from a service shop. Always good to support local and family owned.

We had a very good vehicle service experience at Take 5 Stratford. We had two vehicles serviced -…read moreone GM full size van, and a Honda sedan - and we were very pleased and impressed with the experience. They are a LOT more reasonable price-wise on oil changes and the associated service items, as compared to car dealerships, by around a factor of 3x, which is remarkable. I'd say they are pretty comparable price-wise to the other places that specialize in basic service items such as oil changes, but they come in at around 1/3 the price of dealerships - which is unbelievable but true. It's a very clean and pleasant facility. They give you several choices of the grade of oil you want to buy, and explain them clearly - although the price signage could be a little more clear. The staff is knowledgeable, very professional, and friendly. Overall, excellent.

I appreciate that they worked to resolve the issue, even though it took longer than I had hoped. After my daughter's oil change, her car started leaking oil. We brought it back and within five minutes we were told everything had been checked, everything was fine, and the car was safe to drive. Unfortunately, because the car wasn't parked in one place for very long, we had no idea it was still leaking. It wasn't until the car sat in our driveway for three days that we discovered it was continuing to leak oil. By then, she had already driven the vehicle all the way from Connecticut to North Carolina with the leak. Brand-new driveway covered with a big oil stains. We took the car to our local Take 5 in North Carolina, where they found the problem almost immediately: the Connecticut location had failed to install the gasket on the drain plug during the oil change. Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is that we recognized there was a problem, brought the car back, and were reassured that everything was fine after only a few minutes. That reassurance led to a 600+ mile drive with an active oil leak. This could have caused catastrophic engine damage, and instead it left us with a damaged brand-new driveway. This wasn't just an honest mistake it was a failure to properly diagnose and correct a problem that they created after we specifically returned because the car was leaking oil. Extremely disappointing service and a preventable situation that never should have happened.

Have an older Audi A8L and Cayenne. Brought the Audi in for an oil change and another piece of work that that I was quoted between $600 and $700. I mentioned a faint smell of antifreeze and I told them which they should already kjnow this car has a close looped Antifreeze system. They said they would put a $25 liquid in to look for an plus leaks which I was fine with. I go to pick up my car and Derek presents me a bill for $992.97. I tell him thats not what I was quoted. He says he doesn't know , mumbles something about mechanic time and the guy I spoke to is at lunch. You want me to wait? My wife has dropped me off and Im stuck so I pay the bill. Multiple times since that they have texted me to see how the car is running and Ive asked them to address this issue. RADIO SILENCE. Its a shame that you would burn a 10 year relationship over $300. Reading the other negative reviews it seems this is the way they run their business. Obviously I will no longer be a customer. I found them through a friends referral and that's how businesses like this grow. They've forgotten this and now Ive gone back to my network and have two more referrals. Really really dumb ownership at this place . Two new foreign car repair shops Ive been referred to but havent used yet . https://helmutsfcs.com/ and A&F Mohegan in Shelton

I appreciated being given a fixed appt time; with the shop ready to work on my car on schedule. Work performed was necessary, well done and priced fairly. My questions about process, parts-quality, etc. were answered respectfully and fully. Of special significance, Darek steered me away from doing work on a problem I thought I had, having quickly diagnosed the actual, much simpler problem. And of course he promptly repaired it; problem solved.

It was a Saturday and it was busy, but they squeezed me in and took a look at the tire. Also, the manager tried to get my fleet company on the line to cover the repair. STEER CLEAR OF THIS CREEP:…read more I went to Meineke this morning for an emissions test. My advanced scanner showed the check engine light off and all monitors were online except for one, due to me installing two new O2 sensors on the car. In this condition the car would have passed emissions under CT law. When I exited the car at Meineke the check engine light was off, but apparently it turned on when the owner got into the car and started it (two on off key cycles). If he was a decent guy, and not an a$$hole, he would have walked in and warned me that the car would fail because the check engine light had turned on rather than testing it knowing it would fail. I guess he needed the 20 bucks!! The reason the check engine light turned on was because it was still warming up (171 F vs 206 F) and a minor voltage fluctuation occurred which triggered a 5088 code (a comment headache with all BMWs) causing the car to fail due to a voltage fluctuation. Yes, I know that I can go back for a free retest=, but F*** this place. If he is that desperate for the $20 bucks he can have it. I'll go elsewhere later today to have the car tested again, ensuring the car is warmed up. REMEMBER YOU WERE WARNED!!!!!
