Dr Damore was a Godsend to me. After a horrible experience with my previous Orthopedic surgeon and Workman's Comp Insurance, I was finally able to get a 2nd opinion, 3 1/2 years later. Dr. Damore made sure my treatments, surgery, and PT were promptly approved by Insurance so I didn't have to jump through hoops as I previously had. For over 3 1/2 years I was in a lot of pain, couldn't move my arm (frozen shoulder), and couldn't sleep. I wish I would have seen him first because I believe if I would have had surgery soon after my accident, my bones would have healed properly. BE AWARE of Dr. DAMORE, avoid at all costs!!!!! I had an extremely frustrating experience with this surgeon and feel that six months of my time were wasted. Well, it actually has been wasted. By the time I was finally seen, it felt like the doctor had already made up his mind before even entering the exam room. I was told my case had been reviewed beforehand. If the decision was already made that I was not a good surgical candidate, then why accept the referral at all? Instead, of listening to my concerns and symptoms, I was dismissed and sent home with exercises I had already been doing for the past year without improvement. What was most concerning was the refusal to even review my MRI. The doctor made comments suggesting that MRIs are unnecessary for tennis elbow, despite another physician appropriately ordering one based on my symptoms. I have been dealing with ongoing pain, weakness, and difficulty performing normal daily activities for over a year, and not to mention loss of INCOME and Health Insurance. Yet my concerns, were met with bias and sarcasm rather than meaningful evaluation or treatment. I left the appointment with the same diagnosis I had a year ago and recommendations that actually worsened my pain and dysfunction. Now, after even more months being wasted, I finally saw another surgeon who actually reviewed my imaging and recommended surgical repair for a torn tendon and ligament. Overall, I felt unheard, dismissed, and extremely disappointed with the level of care and professionalism I received. If I could give negative stars I would! I had hand surgery with him after cutting my finger, and the aftercare was seriously lacking. I experienced multiple infections afterward and was even referred to an infectious disease specialist. Years later, when I needed another procedure and chose a different provider, they found six nylon stitches still left in my hand from the original surgery. That discovery confirmed my concerns and permanently damaged my trust. This is not the standard of care I expected, and I would strongly urge others to consider a different surgeon. read more

I am surprised by some of the ratings. The second picture is five months postop. The bad reviews must be old reviews because I found the staff at the surgery center and in the office to be very professional kind and responsive. But the most important thing is that when it comes to carpal tunnel surgery which is Dr. Damore's specialty he is a genius. The scar in the line on the hand is his signature, hardly even noticeable. Of course, I had a little bit of postop pain, but my numbness and tingling were gone as soon as I awoke. And I never lost any range of motion. Dr. Damore told me to keep doing range of motion exercises like a fist. I was a model patient. But I don't even think it was necessary, because I never lost my range of motion. read more

Avoid. After 7 months of pain I finally see this dr. Mri showed tears and some other issues which needs to be corrected by surgery . I had my thumb for month in cast and I was in pain. I waited for three months to have appointment with this "best" surgeon . Dr Damore took my X-ray and give me speech thumb brace and sent me to work . No ultrasound, surgery, acupuncture, injections. I was not important patient, not rich or fames to bother with so I am cripple not able to do my job with no used of thumb . I feel neglected, brush away. I had surgery in Cambel and I was rush from them to leave even I stated I don't feel good I feel like trowing up they did not care just leave so I throw up in my friend car. If only I could give negative stars that's what I would give to this practice. I took my 5 year old with broken pinky finger to see Dr Damore after being recommended to him by fellow orthopedic surgeon office. In the beginning he was kind and gentle talking to my daughter asking her questions on how she broke her finger. X-rays showed she needed a close reduction procedure which he explained to me and we agreed to do it with local anesthesia. It all went downhill from there. He gave my daughter one dose of the local anesthesia then waited 10 mins. Without checking if she was numb or not he started pushing her bones. Poor little baby was in so much pain and kept crying. We were at a point of no return and I did not know what else to do. He was not at all empathetic or patient. On the contrary he started getting irritated because she was crying. He did the close reduction with my 5 year old fully bearing the pain. Then he started blaming her for not being cooperative and suddenly wasn't sure anymore of what he did will fix her finger or not. It was suddenly all a 5 year olds fault that she cried. He was flustered to hear her cry and got so impatient that he started cutting out material for cast but decided not to put a cast. Instead did a bare min ugly uncomfortable splint for her and just let her go. Any professional surgeon if took a look at my daughters splint would wonder if we did it at home for her it was that bad. Not sure what he was expecting out of a 5 years old and if he has ever seen kids. He should have let me know he doesn't handle kids than getting angry and flustered and then unsure of his own procedure and blaming it on a 5 year old and kind of leaving us in a weird situation where we were not sure what's next. One of the worst parental decisions to go to this practice that I will regret for life. The trauma my poor baby went through and the treatment she received definitely wasn't meant to be. So unprofessional and so unexpected from a so called well reputed doctor. Warning to all parents with kids to not go to this practice in emergency situations. Hmmm, where do i start? Dr. Damore is one of the worst i have ever met. He was... 1) extremely insensitive to his patient's needs (not at all sympathetic about my condition or pain...his xray tech even joked time and time again that my leg was "still broken!", as if it was funny) 2) unknowledgeable (gave me a load of incorrect, misleading information about my fracture...made me responsible for asking for all information about my fracture, otherwise no facts were given out). 3) unprofessional (had my mom assist in applying casts when he could have easily had an assistant do the job properly...after i got an old cast off, he would make me wait, holding up my leg with my arms for about 10 minutes before he came in to apply a new cast) 4) unskilled (applied casts too loosely, significantly prolonging healing time...applied a short leg cast that cut into the back of my leg, causing an abrasion...waited until a few weeks after the date of injury to "reset" the fracture...had to apply a new cast every week for about four weeks because of his inability to apply a good cast) All in all, if you're in need of an orthopedic surgeon for whatever reason, please do some research and ask around for recommendations. I called in extreme pain this morning and ask, specifically if they took my insurance? anthem Blue cross no problem the girl said on the phone. We can get you in at 11:45 AM. Wow this is great, not really. I turned down another appointment and set this one up. Wen I get there the rude girl says fill out these papers standard issue. Filled everything out. You people need to get over the front office people. I am 62 years old and have never been easy on my body. I have seen a lot of Doctors over the years and have had many Cortisone injections. The last one I received was from Dr. Damore, he took the time and checked xrays to get it into the right spot, (side note: he uses the same xray tech as the other Doctors in the building who is also a great guy, always upbeat), I will be using Dr. Damore very soon to do the much needed surgery on my right hand. Hands down (no pun intended) the most horrendous first impression from a private doctor's office I have ever experienced. My chiropractor referred me to Dr. Damore's office. I called multiple times throughout normal business hours and no one answered the phone. The voicemail greeting from the doctor is very cold, aggressive, and gives you an unwelcomed feeling. I called a third time and left a message, waited two days for a call back, and got nothing. I then decided to try back yet again one more time the following week and leave another message; the result was no call back again. Upon returning to my chiropractor I told him about the experience thus far from Dr. Damore's office. I asked him for another referral, but he did not have one in mind. He then decided to call Dr. Damore's office himself and of course had to leave a voicemail urging them to call me back directly or give him another referral he can start recommending to his patients. Later that day, my chiropractor's office received a call back from one of the staff who told him they only have room for one or two new patients the following month (approx. 45 days from now) and that I would have to call them again so they could ask me some questions before (aka "screen me"). You would think they would just call me directly to resolve this, not call my chiro and tell him to have me call them yet again! I've already done that many times and you have my cell phone number! Plain and simple this office does not care about you at all. You are just another annoyance and added workload to their job. Their attitudes are "burnt out", disinterested and rude. They think they should not have to provide professional customer service and communication with potential patients. By the way, front-office staff are usually a spitting image of the doctor and the quality of care you will receive. Needless to say, I will insist my doctor (or any doctor) NEVER refers another patient here again. Dr. Damore should have retired years ago if he is burnt out and does not care anymore. read more

Maintaining high level of professionalism at the same time delegating procedures in a diplomatic fashion with smiles and humor that i found engaging and personally made me feel welcome and relaxed. Dr. Damore was thorough and inquisitive which made me feel comfortable and also he was informative which will help in my recovery. He shared medical facts pertaining to my injury that i did not know and i have seen one other doctor, an Orthopedic and a therapist before seeing him. I could tell by his patience and eye contact while speaking to me that he was sincere and I was in the right hands. I look forward to being a patient of his and I promise not to bring back my overbearing, obnoxious friend to stir things up in the waiting room. Apparently based on other complaints on YELP, I'm not the only one who cannot tolerate some off the staff. I give 5 stars for Dr DAmore and Monica at the front desk but NORMA ,in billing and records, was the most unprofessional and rude person Ive dealt with. This review is for Dr DAmore so he can remove her from his office and hire someone who knows how to appropriately deal with pateints instead of confusing one patient with another , getting crucial info like Drs FAX numbers wrong no less than THREE times in s minute, confusing ME with another patient, giving improper medical info, not listening to my questions at all, and then claiming I was rude and she had tried to help me before, when I'd NEVER spoken to her except when SHE called ME after I left a voicemail the week before. Finally, after being confronted with her intolerable behavior, she hung up on ME, never having given me the info I needed. NOrma called me back after I left a voicemail in late July. Upon calling me she asked me," What is this for?? Why do you want your records?? Is this a workman's comp case? " I replied, "No, its for my personal records and for my new drs" She then told me it was 40.00! I said, "Why is it 40 if you are sending them to another DR?" She quickly backtracked. I then gave her the one FAX for one Dr and she got both the FAX and the Phone number wrong. I had to repeat it 2-3x to her! She was VERY irritable with me and sounded like she couldn't be bothered. Since time is of the essence in my getting critical care, I needed the PT offices info so I could follow up and call them I needed to get some b asic info which she didnt want to answer. I asked her what kind of MRI was done since MOnica saw an MRI in my chart but coudn't Read the info. Norma rpeolied" YOu didnt have an MRI" I had to say 2x to her" I was told by the office I DID have an MRI so could you please tell me what kind it was" She looked further, realized she missed it and said" It says you had a spinal " I said," I couldn't have had a spinal since I wouldn't allow any ESIS or dura punctures" she ignored me and said" It says you had a spinal". Turns out I had a SPINE MRI NOT a "Spinal". These terms are not used for MRIs since a "spinal" refers more to a "spinal injection or spinal tap" which I would have never had. I worked in the medical field and thus I am familiar with these medical terms. She got very irritated with me again, and then I asked her what kind of MRI it was. She answered. then I asked her what kind of Dr , DR Robinson was. She replied" Nerve conductive study" I said," I didnt ask what test i had, I asked what kind of Dr he is so I know how to find him" She replied" I ALLREADY Answered you: Nerve conductive study!" Clearly NOrma is not able to answer questions appropriately and doesn't seem to listen well either. Finally, she said something way out of line, and was even ruder and I confronted her. I said" You are incredibly rude and I don't appreciate it. I would like to speak to your office manager now please!" She cut me off, raising her voice," No YOU were the rude one, and I tried to help you BEFORE and you've been rude to me" I said" WTH are you talking about NOrma? Ive NEVER SPOKEN To you before!!" Instead of giving me her office managers number, she HUNG UP ON ME! I called back the office front desk, spoke to the very professional woman I had spoken to last week, MOnica, and told her how NOrma had confused me with someone else, been rude to me the ENTIRE TIME, and then hung up on me. I also informed her that my husband who had been listening the entire time to NOrma on speakerphone, decided to record her behavior since he was so appalled. So, Dr DAmore, I loved your care, and like MOnica, but if I ever move back to the Bay Area, I wont come to see you until you remove NOrma from your office. Dr. Damore was recommended to us by Dr. Edward Littlejohn, the orthopedic surgeon who repaired both rotator cuffs for my husband, as the best hand surgeon in the area. We have been exceptionally delighted with Dr. Damore. He diagnosed my husband's carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists/hands, ganglion cysts, bone spur, and trigger thumb, and thoroughly described the conditions and treatment options, as well as long term effects & recovery. Dr. Damore performed surgery and there has been a complete reversal in pain and symptoms. We found Dr. Damore to be very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He took time to answer all questions and provide information and resources. Outpatient surgery was a breeze and Dr. Damore's bedside manner was fantastic. I'd seen Dr. Damore about a year and a half ago after being diagnosed with CMC arthritis of my thumb. Back then he told me my arthritis wasn't "bad" enough to make me a candidate for surgery and recommended wearing a splint and modify my daily activities to help with the pain. Fair enough, I did what he recommended. Fast forward to today, after being re-referred over a month and a half ago, I finally got someone to schedule me an appointment. I go in today and the doctor asks "what are we seeing you for?" Really?!?! It's in my referral. I tell him it's for my thumb pain (previously seen for this) and carpal tunnel (second opinion requested). I explain that the pain in my thumb has gotten really bad, limiting my ability to use it. He's says he suspects the pain is in my thumb joint (yeah....I was diagnosed sometime ago with arthritis in that joint) After an xray he tells me he sees a slight issue with my joint but nothing serious. Sure, slight to him since he's not the one in pain. He then goes on to tell me to do the same things he had recommended over a year ago. I reiterated to him I have been doing all those things with no improvement but more pain. He offers a cortisone shot and I'm like "yes finally some relief". He goes on to say he'll see back in 5weeks for that shot (have to get insurance authorization you know). I then ask about my carpal tunnel. He tells me that based on today's visit he would NOT do surgery on me. Wait...what???? So by asking me one question he now knows everything about of my injured hand? Sorry but nobody is that good. In my experience in life with surgeons and doctors I have met many that will need to wait to help the patient, until they have gotten paid. Dr. Damore is a humanitarian. His skills are not guided by the money. I was dealing with the turmoil of workers comp and them putting off a much needed graft on my finger. I am a butcher and needed to get back to work as soon as possible. As soon as I saw him he decided to do the surgery weather it was approved or not. He was looking out to take care of my injury and my well being instead of waiting for workers comp. I was very great full to have met him and have him take care of me. It was a very satisfying to know that there are doctors out there like him that are willing to go the extra mile and have their main concern be the patient. My finger has healed enough for me to go back to work. He did an amazing job with the graft. He is a very skilled doctor with passion for his work. I just had an appointment with Dr. Damore after two other doctors I personally know and a hand therapist highly recommended him. I couldn't have been more pleased. I had read reviews on Yelp and I was a little concerned but this doctor was fantastic. He spent so much time with me he stayed late until 6:00. He's super friendly and super informative. I'm not even going to interview anyone else after my visit to perform my surgery. I feel 100% confident in him. Dr. Damore did hand surgery on me several years ago. I had Kinboch Disease, kind of rare and between stage 3 & 4. He did a bone and tendon transplant and it worked!! My hand is good as new with NO side effects or issues. Many people who have had this surgery have had implant issues or some kind of problems. Dr. Damore is amazing, kind, and explains everything to you. Just like the old docs use to do many years ago. He has wonderful bedside manner and that is super important to me. Rudest phone staff I have ever encountered. Called to make an appointment for my husband who was in an accident the previous day, was seen at Valley Med, and needed followup for broken collarbone. This clinic is well respected, hence my call. The woman on the phone acted like my phone call was an interruption, was abrupt, and completely unsympathetic, unconcerned about my husband's welfare. Her main concern was my insurance, understandable - they do want to get paid. Dr. Damore is " Good People". He is also a great surgeon. After my surgery, my paid that I was feeling before has gotten better, from a scale from 1 - 10, 10 being the worst, has gone down to a 2. Dr. Damore is the BEST surgeon we've ever had. He is conservative, thorough, and extremely attention to detail oriented when meeting with his patients. He's also got a great sense of humor to boot! My 55 year old husband fell during a trail run and sustained a rotator cuff tear & severed two tendons. Dr. Damore performed the reconstructive shoulder surgery and my hubby is good as new now. Of course, he followed the doctor's orders to a T, which made all the difference in the world. Dr. Damore also performed bone spur removal surgery on my shoulder and I am doing great.
