This is not a typical yelp review about a burger experience. I've never had any surgery, so finding a good doctor was absolutely a priority for me. After reading the reviews here, and talking to someone who had him as their doctor as well in the past, I went with him. There was no question my knee needed repair, the only question is would I feel comfortable or would I be anxious the whole way through. Dr. Ecklund did a fantastic job in making me feel comfortable not just in his office, but managing my concerns and questions as well. He is polite, courteous, and well mannered; everything you would hope for in someone you place so much trust. I had my initial consult for a MRI review with Dr. Ecklund and I was very impressed with his professionalism and thoroughness. His office staff is nice and easy to work with. Dr. Ecklund performed an ACL reconstruction and meniscectomy on my knee, and the results were impressive. My surgery went flawless. He spends a lot of time with you in each appointment, takes time to listen and answer all your questions, explains everything, shows or draws you pictures, and he never has to rush. He did an excellent job explaining the injury, graft options to be used in surgery, the procedure and post-op recovery. Angela White is also very knowledgeable in sports injuries, and patiently answered all my questions during the pre-op and post-op visits. 3 months post-surgery, I am back to my usual 'workout' self and will be returning to sports soon. Dr. Ecklund never ceases to amaze! He's truly the best of the best! I had my shoulder surgery, and it went so smoothly. I had surgery Dec. 18, 2015 and saw him last week. My shoulder pain is pretty much gone, and I can sleep pain free! I'm still rehabbing with P.T. Jen Hao Chen, to build my strength and mobility back , but overall Dr Ecklund & Jen have delivered the Best care by far, and I've had quite a few injuries in my lifetime. Absolutely ridiculous, so we went to see him once before and although he is a nice guy they made us wait approximately 2 hours to be seen. Today we went for another appointment and we were on a hour and a half waiting when we decided to just leave. I got my right knee ACL surgery done by Dr. Ecklund two years back in year 2015. Dr. Ecklund answered all my queries and explained the reasoning behind his choice of graft before surgery. Surgery went smoothly and he has done great job. Incision marks are not even visible unless you go looking for them. After the first year of rehab, I am back to running and playing tennis. Dr. Ecklund is skilled surgeon, listens to patients and polite. I fully recommend him. Only nitpick I have is about follow up unscheduled appointment post surgery. During initial months after surgery, you panic sometimes when you feel suddenly unexpected pain (after rehab or some exercises) and would like to meet with doctor (or someone from team) just to make sure. But it is somewhat difficult to meet out of turn. Couple of times I called, I was asked to go to urgent care or wait for scheduled appointment. I understand this is tough one for anyone having busy practice. In the hindsight, those pains were minor issues but at that time you are really worried. read more

Dr. Ecklund is very experienced, knowledgeable, and detail oriented, and the best of all, he shows compassion and respect for his patients. I can tell he truly loves what he does and cares for his patients' well being. I'm very happy that I've finally found an orthopedic surgeon that I trust. I began my visit with Dr. Ecklund 2 years ago with a bad ache in my hip. We started out with X-rays, which didn't show anything compelling. Therapy was tried first, and finally an MRI was ordered which showed that I had a moderate stage of Avascular necrosis (AVN) which got worse as time went on. Bottom line was that I was in need of a hip replacement. I recently completed the surgery and recovery is going really well. I am walking without assistance of a cane after 3.5 weeks. The pain I experienced before is gone. During the office visits Dr. Ecklund was able to discuss in layman terms the procedure in detail and provided me with all of the time required for my questions. I never felt rushed as I have felt with other doctors. A great bedside manner and a great doctor like Kier Ecklund is hard to come by. read more

I had a problem with my left knee for approximately 1 year when I went on line in search for a good doctor/surgeon. All the extremely positive reviews online helped me decide to consult with Dr Ecklund. His first appointment schedule took a while because he seems to be rather popular, but I sent for my first visit on 31 Oct 2016. After the appropriate tests and discussion, surgery was scheduled for Dec 12th. You know you have a great surgeon when the surgery center nurses tell you Dr. Ecklund is their favorite! The entire experience was great. The anesthesiologist took to heart my negative reaction to these type of drugs and sedated me in a way that resulted in no pain or reaction afterwards. Dr. Ecklund repaired the torn meniscus and I entered physical therapy and am well on my way to a full recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Ecklund not only as a very skilled surgeon, but also a very pleasant and professional human being! read more

As much as I rely on internet reviews I'm really pretty bad about writing them myself, but after seeing Dr. Ecklund a couple of times I really felt he deserved one. I'm glad to see he already has the 5-start rating he deserves on here. I've had two visits with Dr. Ecklund in the last few months after a knee injury. Knee problems have been a major issue for me for quite a few years but this was the first injury I'd had in a long time so I had a lot of questions for him. He really took the time to answer all of my questions extremely thoroughly, even going way beyond just the practical aspects of how careful I needed to be with it and if I might eventually need surgery and actually teaching me about the anatomical and mechanical aspects behind my knee issues when I expressed curiosity. On my second visit he again spent way more time than I would have expected helping me get a good knee brace on short notice (I was getting kicked off my parent's insurance on my 26th birthday and had stupidly waited until the last minute on this, not a problem for him). I know doctors have extremely busy and stressful jobs, so I'm honestly not too surprised or offended if I feel like I'm being rushed in and out a bit during a visit, but my experience with Dr. Ecklund was nothing of the sort. I feel like he really went way above and beyond in listening to my concerns and questions and explaining everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. He didn't actually perform any surgery on me so I can't comment on that, but if it turns out I need it he's definitely the first person I'm looking at. read more

Kier Ecklund is very good. His staff is also very good. They listen and help. I'm knocking off 1 star for their 'reception' and lack of scheduling ability. The receptionist apperently works for someone else and doesn't actually give a damn about any of his patients and can't be bothered. Avoid the receptionist if possible. NEVER make appointments with the receptionist. After this problem, his staff found out and they fixed it, but this was already after the fact. read more

Dr. Ecklund and Heather, his PA, are awesome. I went in with a severe rotator cuff tear and he did a wonderful repair on it. The meetings prior to the surgery, the surgery itself (over 3 hours) and the follow-up visits were like clockwork. I had my left shoulder repaired (torn rotator cuff) by Dr Ecklund in mid April and have had a wonderful experience under his (and Heather's) care. While the pain has been challenging, both he and Heather have been very helpful and responsive in helping me through this process. I have a long road ahead of me, as I'm having my right shoulder repaired in mid July and of course, I am going back to Dr Ecklund for that surgery. I've got the best, forget the rest! Had my 2nd shoulder surgery done in mid July and am pretty much through the whole healing process. I had less pain with my labral repair and am back at work as a RN. I look back on my pain prior to the surgeries and can't believe the tough shape I was in. I sing Dr Ecklunds praises to anyone looking for a shoulder specialist. Dr. Ecklund is one of those physicians who was just born to do this work! He's kind and compassionate and explained what was going on in language that was easy to understand for someone who isn't a medical professional. He addressed all my questions and concerns and really involved me in deciding on my treatment plan. He didn't try to push surgery when it wasn't necessary. I had progressively worse right shoulder pain over several months. I weight lift and do cardio daily. The shoulder pain prevented heavy squats and most pressing-related lifts. Several physicians could not determine the nature of the issue. Dr. Ecklund ordered an MRI and quickly diagnosed the issue as greatly reduced cartilage. He quickly fixed the issue with a non-invasive approach. He went way beyond the call of duty to work with me on getting back to my desired activity level.
