Damon has been the photographer for many events I've attended and I've always loved his mixture of posed group shots and candid in the moment shots. In September 2020 I booked a combined solo and couples photoshoot with him in Alexandria, VA. I was impressed at his location scouting before the shoot which made the day of shooting go seamlessly as we moved through a few different spots to get truly unique and fun shots. Damon suggested poses and encouraged me to do my own thing as well. He was also masked and takes COVID precautions that made both my husband and I feel safe during the shoot. Turnaround to get the gallery of photos was pretty standard for the industry (a few weeks) and I was so thrilled with the variety of photos. Highly recommend Damon Bowe Photographer. I started my search for a family and lifestyle photographer through Damon's instagram page. It was clear to me he had a clear and consistent style for photos, which I loved. His instagram page clearly identified pictures from families, engagement, branding sessions, weddings and more. I could tell he was a professional and clearly had perfected his craft. Not only was he a professional, but he demonstrated diversity in customers and settings and was capable of handling children (not an easy task!), and this was important to me! After deciding to contact Damon for our family portraits, he was quick to respond, provided plenty of information (without having to make me dig more!), and gave pricing. He was also clear and upfront on what we would get for our session. From professional equipment, his time, assistance, and expertise, posing suggestions, background location, and more, there was no guessing. He has it all laid out, from how to handle children, suggestions for great background, timing of day considerations, attire and outfits, props to use and more. You could tell he was not new to this and that showed. His professionalism made it so that our session was seem-less, he was helpful with our daughter, came with all the needed equipment for the time of day we picked and was ready to go once we met up! After our session, Damon was quick to let us know about his editing procedures, the turn around times and how we would be able to access our photos. From weddings to family portraits, he mentioned he had an online gallery for all clients which made it easy to ensure we could check out all our photos once he was done editing. We got our pictures back via the online gallery in a quicker fashion that expected. Damon truly believes in under promise and over deliver and he certainly over delivered. Not only do we love our photos, but I did not have to do any additional editing, it was easy to check out all photos and I found that many of the photos we very usable (compared to other photographer where you have to hope you get only a few usable ones). We have printed out a number of photos from our family session and have hung them around our house. Damon is absolutely, hands down, one of the best wedding photographers I have had the pleasure of working with! Our original wedding in Florida had been cancelled thanks to Covid for the risk of infection was too great for those who couldn't afford to get sick. We then had a last minute decision to hold a small family ceremony in the mountains of Shenandoah to try to avoid getting anyone sick. We we're at a loss on how, where, and when to hold the wedding and if it weren't for Damon Bowe we wouldn't have had such a wonderful wedding! We had his help deciding where to get married and how to get that perfect shot so that we have memories to hold that light up this hard time during the pandemic. I can also say he is easy and wonderful to talk to with such a zest and drive to make beautiful photos of the day and knows how to plan out everything and explain it to a couple of new people to the wedding world. He also is courteous and respectful of the people around him in regards of infection and the spread of COVID as well as understanding the limitations of the family when it comes to disabilities that can cause differences in where shots are to be taken. As a newly engaged couple, this was the first "wedding thing" we did (and our first time working with a photographer) and I'm so glad we chose to work with Damon! The first site we chose was tidal basin but it was so windy and my LO cried hysterically and couldn't take many photos. My review: Damon was referred to me by someone for a surprise sailboat proposal for my (now) fiancé. Of course the first thing I did is look at his portfolio. One thing that stood out to me from his portfolio was something he advertised to be his approach on photography... emotions! He did just that when capturing our proposal. The proposal left us with an influx of emotions and he perfectly captured every moment that almost take you right back to that evening. He went above and beyond every step of the way to show his support from offering guidance on the best location for the proposal to after the proposal when he offered to walk around to take some additional posed shots. Damon provided an awesome Holiday photo session experience for my family and I! I was interested in a Holiday mini session and did a quick Google search for photographers in the DC area.
