We took our two dogs (pre-dog 3 and dog 4) into the city for the first time to get some photographs taken of them since they are naturally the best looking dogs around. Bob-O and Bella were very distracted by the new scents, odd sounds, various people, and the cookie table caught Bella's eye the minute we walked in. Bob-O would have probably noticed it, too if he wasn't only two inches off the ground. There were two women helping with the photographs - one with a camera and one with a ball. They were both wonderful with the dogs, trying anything necessary to get them to focus long enough to hold still. They took many pictures while were there regardless of whether or not the kids were actually in position to be photographed. We were hoping that at least we'd get one or two good ones of them before leaving. While we started to feel ourselves getting a little frustrated at Bob-O's and Bella's inability to sit on the white paper rather than sitting every where else, the Houndstooth crew never showed a moment of irritation or frustration at trying to get the dogs to hold still for a few shots. Big plus for us. The pictures were adorable and well worth the trek into the city. We plan on getting pictures taken again once the Dog #4 is full grown - so we have the entire family together. The prices for the sitting are a little expensive - I'd rather pay more for pictures when ordering than pay an upfront fee for the sitting - but they are great at getting good shots. Plus, if you're a client of The Backyard Pack you get 10% off the sitting cost! Now that's a great deal.

We started outside of my house and walked down to Shirlington and took photos at the park. She got great photos of my dog in the water, I never would have been able to crouch down and do all that. Many of the photos were literally breath-taking and everyone who's seen them loves them. I'm having so much trouble deciding which ones to buy as prints since they're all amazing! I wish I'd found her when my dog was a puppy because I really wanted to capture those days but better late than never.

My 10 year old Scottish Terrier had been diagnosed with cancer and it was my priority to preserve her wonderful disposition as best I could. I contacted Carina and explained what I wanted. She informed me of the available options, made suggestions, but she always listed to what I wanted. The session booking was a breeze; we coordinated via email and she graciously sent calendar reminders. I then decided to change the venue to Bluemont Winery, there was a nominal travel fee, however, she contacted the winery to verify there would be no issues with our session. The photo session lasted about 90 minutes and included both my furry companions as well as myself. There was no additional charge for the two additions. Carina was wonderful with my wacky and still energetic 11 year old Jack Russell. She was very patient even when he was constantly distracted and doing everything but looking at the camera. My Scottie was a breeze; she seemed completely at ease with Carina and the camera. The photos were available for review about a week later. Carina kept me informed and then coordinated with me as to when we would review them together. She also sent me a catalog of available products along with their pricing before I went to the review session so I would be well informed. She had wonderful samples of available frames, mat, and finishes. She also had an application that allowed me to see what the photos would look like in my home. She was extremely professional at all times, I never felt pressured to buy something I was not comfortable with. I was very delighted with the final products. She captured my Scotties eyes, the look in her eyes when she's happy. I have been unable to capture that in photos over the past 10 years. Carina has preserved a memory that I will always cherish and keep close to my heart. The photos of my wacky Jack Russell were also fantastic! I could not believe she was able to get anything other than a blurry whirl but did she ever! Whatever your reason for seeking a pet photographer, you will not find a better person than Carina. She's extremely talented and I am over the moon with the final results. It was worth every single cent!

You go on location, and let the poochies romp around like they love to do. Carina is not limited to poochies, she is fond of everyone's pet loves. The shoot was so much fun! Carina is so very personable. The synergy that was generated between us with ideas during the shoot, editing photos, suggestions and options to choose from makes you feel so much of a part of these creations. When you collaborate with this modest artist you will see her amazing talent! She made our bichon look like a super model! The vision of what we wanted came true, only better! There is a wide selection of products. You are not limited to a package deal or minimum purchase like others. We got textured prints, small accordion portfolios, large prints on a nice backer board, and an awesome piece with a background and 3 block floating photos. Really 3D! Can't stop looking at it! We are so please with this whole experience, we are having Carina do a session with our doxies.

Right off the bat when I went to drop off my puppy, the two women behind the counter were extremely nice. They went over everything to expect. I didn't realize I had to bring my own food. They do have snacks and meals for purchase though, such as homemade turkey meatballs, and a chicken protein bowl. The best part is that you can watch your dog live on their WebCam. This definitely gave me a lot of peace of mind to be able to see how my pup was doing and interacting with the other dogs. From 12 PM to 2 PM, the cameras are off for nap time. When I went to pick him up, they gave me a little report card with his mood, the new dog friends he made, and a brief overview on how he did. I definitely think that this is good for dog socialization. Regarding the price, to board your dog it's $69 a night. They also have a weekly enrollment daycare plan: 1-day enrollment: $51/week 2-day enrollment: $92/week 3-day enrollment: $129/week Unlimited enrollment: $184/week

The pricing structure is too complicated for me to explain here, but they are pretty flexible about adjusting to your needs. They have recently changed their system to involve a reservation system due to high demand, but honestly we have never had an issue getting our dog in on a day that we needed him to. They will give your dog a meal if you bring it with your dog. One note, it's best to remove your dogs collar before dropping off, to minimize the risk that they will forget to give you the collar back at pick up. In fact I think under the new system they request this specifically since Covid started.
