I can't stop looking at my photos! I had such a great experience working with John Bartenhagen! He shot my wedding and my photos are fantastic! I loved that John was so responsive each time I reached out! Not only would he respond right back but many times if my questions were complicated he would ask to schedule a FaceTime so we could work out the details! Once you connect with John, he sets up a virtual meeting to make sure that you understand all he provides and his style of photos will meet your needs. He listens and plans all the details so you know exactly what to expect. He has an automated contract and payment service that makes both processes one-click simple. John also includes a engagement sitting with his service so you will have great "Save the Dates." John will prompt you for all the details at just the right time which takes the worry off you. He will discuss all the shots you want to capture and who you want more or less ;) pictures of. We did a walk through the week before at our wedding site and John's creative eye identified so many great photo opportunities, I knew I was going to have some really great shots and it got me so excited. At the "first look" I was pretty impressed when I saw John had a photo checklist tool on his phone to make sure every shot was captured. During the wedding/reception John was there to capture every shot and he did it in such a way that you never noticed him or the lighting stands. One of the best reasons to select John as your photographer is that within a couple of weeks (quicker than most) he delivers your print ready photos to his site and you can download them all in minutes. There are no additional charges to to download and share them with your guests or you can print them yourself! Although I can't say enough about John being the best choice for your wedding photographer and that he will be so easy to work with and deliver incredible photos. I will highlight that John is one of the nicest and "good hearted"people I have worked with. He is such a kind and caring person... it was a true delight to meet John. We hired John Bartenhagen to shoot our wedding photos at the very start of our planning process. He was an integral member of our team, and was very generous with his time and expertise. He worked with us to arrange two engagement photo shoots as well as the normal portrait and event photos of the wedding and ceremony. He participated in walk throughs of the space with us and provided valuable insights into how to stage the wedding to maximize photo quality. After our big day, he turned around our photos quickly and made sure we got the shots and edits we needed to assemble a perfect collection of photographs. John is friendly, smart, fun and talented. We hired John a few days before our civil ceremony. He was able to make time for us on such short notice which was greatly appreciated. He ended up working out a deal for us to do a engagement session + our ceremony combo all in one day. His deal also included a military discount which is always helpful. John made it a point to make sure we were always comfortable with the poses and the right style of photos we wanted. Turn around time for the photos was rather quick considering he had another wedding from a few days prior that he had to finish up before ours. The pictures turned out AMAZING! I highly recommend John! He did an amazing job with our family photos recently. Our little one wasn't in a smiley mood, but John patiently worked with him and managed to get way more smiles than I realized. The photos turned out beautifully! I had trouble picking my top 25 favorites... there were so many to choose from! John was also very flexible with meeting times and locations, and he had several helpful suggestions. He turned the photos around extremely quickly, and he even worked a little photoshop magic at my request. Plus, he's just really pleasant and kind. John did a fantastic job with my daughter's senior portrait!  His focus throughout was on making my daughter comfortable and getting the best shots that captured her personality.  He had some great ideas for poses and locations, but also incorporated her suggestions.  We were bowled over by the high quality and variety of the finished photographs.  The hardest part of the whole process was deciding which ones to have him print!  I would recommend John without reservation. read more

We contacted John and hired him less than a week before our wedding after our original photographer fell through. This was very nerve-wracking for us, as we didn't know if we could find someone with that late of notice. From the first phone call he put us at ease, and at the end of the wedding night multiple family members came to me to tell me how great of a job he did. John brought his assistant Elizabeth, both of whom were very professional and easy to work with. John got our pictures turned around quickly, and the quality was great. I hired John to take photographs at a family party celebrating my sister and her husband's marriage. It was a casual affair, and I wanted professional pictures for the newlyweds. John's photos were brilliant! He took the requisite standard poses beautifully, and then captured some amazing family moments with his candid shots. John circulated with ease, and the family felt comfortable with him there. His turnaround time for posting the photos was incredibly speedy. John also set up a private page on his website so the whole family had access to them (which they loved). His prices are reasonable, and I was allowed to purchase a CD with all the shots.
