I moderated a panel last week and a panelist I was being introduced to said, "yes, the woman with the most amazing head shot." Yesterday morning we did our 5th(!) family mini session shoot with Stacey in a garden next to the Capitol. It's wonderful to get these beautiful shots of our children growing up -- and have some shots with me that I love that aren't selfies! Years ago Stacey took an iconic (among our family and friends) photo of my son sulking off to the left of the Washington monument when my husband and I were were standing to the right smiling while pregnant with our daughter. That same day Stacey was able to joke around with our son and get the best shots of him smiling and enjoying himself. Our daughter enjoys the shoots just as much. Thank you, Stacey!

You can tell that this is his passion and he approached our session with a lot of excitement. When saying goodbye, he literally said, "he couldn't wait to start editing our shoot and would get a sneak peak to us in two days". We received our beautiful sneak peak 8 hours later! Half way through the session, I started wondering how we could work with him again. Another aspect that I really liked is that Charlie had a vision of what he wanted to do for our session. When I had confirmed our appointment, we discussed what I liked about our location and what I was looking for, and from that Charlie made a plan. He was open to anything we wanted to try, but we didn't waste any of our session thinking about what the next shot would be- Charlie already had it queued up for us! It should be mentioned, although I'm a bit embarrassed, that we were 10 minutes late because I was getting my hair done at drybar. Charlie was beyond gracious about it and said to not stress because it would affect the pictures. I do not recommend being late because it is rude and inconsiderate, but when I was late, I really appreciated Charlie making me feel better about it. Long story short, Charlie is amazingly talented and incredibly easy to work with. I cannot recommend him enough.

Houndstooth participated in a charity event with K-9 Lifesavers Dog Rescue several months ago by…read moreoffering free sitting to anyone attending the event with their dog(s). We took our two dogs (pre-dog 3 and dog 4) into the city for the first time to get some photographs taken of them since they are naturally the best looking dogs around. Bob-O and Bella were very distracted by the new scents, odd sounds, various people, and the cookie table caught Bella's eye the minute we walked in. Bob-O would have probably noticed it, too if he wasn't only two inches off the ground. There were two women helping with the photographs - one with a camera and one with a ball. They were both wonderful with the dogs, trying anything necessary to get them to focus long enough to hold still. They took many pictures while were there regardless of whether or not the kids were actually in position to be photographed. We were hoping that at least we'd get one or two good ones of them before leaving. While we started to feel ourselves getting a little frustrated at Bob-O's and Bella's inability to sit on the white paper rather than sitting every where else, the Houndstooth crew never showed a moment of irritation or frustration at trying to get the dogs to hold still for a few shots. Big plus for us. The pictures were adorable and well worth the trek into the city. We plan on getting pictures taken again once the Dog #4 is full grown - so we have the entire family together. The prices for the sitting are a little expensive - I'd rather pay more for pictures when ordering than pay an upfront fee for the sitting - but they are great at getting good shots. Plus, if you're a client of The Backyard Pack you get 10% off the sitting cost! Now that's a great deal.

Gracy did an amazing job with the photo shoot for my dog Brian. I lack creativity and couldn't…read morereally think of places to shoot but Gracy found great places and the photos turned out amazing. We started outside of my house and walked down to Shirlington and took photos at the park. She got great photos of my dog in the water, I never would have been able to crouch down and do all that. Many of the photos were literally breath-taking and everyone who's seen them loves them. I'm having so much trouble deciding which ones to buy as prints since they're all amazing! I wish I'd found her when my dog was a puppy because I really wanted to capture those days but better late than never.
