Given that his eloquence didn't quite match the expression on his face, I thought I'd take over. Lisa did a boudoir photo shoot with me (the photos were a surprise for my husband's birthday). I wanted to write a review because I asked her not to put the photos up on her blog--though I loved them, I wanted to let the pictures remain private to us. However, my experience was absolutely phenomenal. Lisa worked with me for pricing; not only was she one of the only photographers I looked at who included all the photos taken as part of the deliverables included in the original fee (i.e. I don't have to buy photos from her because I will have digital copies of all of them with reprinting rights), but she also was just fine with doing the shoot at a friend of mine's apartment and having another friend do my make-up. Before the shoot, I expressed my concerns about my own body image and fear of not looking "good enough," and Lisa reassured me that it would truly be a fun experience--and it was! When you look at the photos she took, it's hard to believe that Lisa is so young, that she came to the apartment with only a backpack of supplies, and that she somehow managed to make me look like a model! The shots are so diverse--in some, she captured my actual genuine laugh or smile, while in others she found my inner seductress--but every single one is both classy and sexy. My husband is in awe and wants to "shout from the rooftops how hot my wife is"--and I have even been proudly showing them to close friends (which I never thought I'd do!). I cannot recommend Lisa enough--if you're worried about how you might look or feel during a boudoir shoot, have no fears! As my husband said, "see, this is how I see you every day--finally, someone captured that in a photo as proof."

I was so excited she was available for our Sept 2013 wedding and could not wait to meet her. At our initial meeting, we had a lot of fun getting to know it each other and both my husband and I felt comfortable with her right away. This comfort continued into our engagement photo session, which we did in Old Town Alexandria. Lisa had fantastic suggestions on where to go and made ordinary scenery and streets come to life and compliment us. On our wedding day, I had no worries or stress related to the photography, I knew with Lisa's talent and eye in combination with her dedication and passion our photos would be beautiful. When I saw the pictures I was stunned, they are absolutely amazing. She was able to capture the entire day perfectly, the photographs were better then I imagined. We have received so many compliments on our wedding photos and about how much fun our guests had with Lisa throughout the day. When the next opportunity arrived,I went ahead and booked her. It was a rare moment of being thankful for spam emails. (After not hiring her, i would get emails of mini sessions.) What I've learned after 4 babies, is that a good photographer is worth the price. Moments float by quickly and the next best thing to a time machine is a great photo. In the end, Naz is not expensive. She is upfront with her prices. Other photographers can either be subpar or will up sell you once their session is over. I will tell you that I hate pictures and am very critical in the way I look in them. I was surprised at how great i looked. My oldest has the most unnatural smile, kid #3 thinks he's funny and will do the opposite of what you ask and the baby hates strangers. I thought it was going to be the worse day ever. But on a chilly december day, naz had the best idea to meet at the national gallery of art.easy access to bathrooms and we ate lunch in the cafeteria. It took almost a year from when I first…read morecontacted Naz to us actually having our photo shoot (delays in scheduling all stemming from me, including a couple of last minute cancellations), and over the course of that time, Naz was beyond flexible, gracious, professional and accommodating. She worked with me to narrow down our location and vision (I was scattered and had a lot of conflicting ideas) -- all with patience, calm and a steadiness that made me feel super confident with our final plan. Did I mention, I kept changing my mind on everything...?! Naz is super creative, personable and has a magnetic presence that makes you feel completely at ease. Even my super wiggly, active and spazzy 2-year old (who, at the time, was a late walker and just getting a handle on moving around on his own) sat still for and gravitated toward the camera. And, with BIG smiles! I couldn't believe it. She has a sharp and very keen eye and was able to capture our family's true essence perfectly. So much so that it took me forever to narrow down on the photos. Hire her, you won't regret for a second! Then, since it's the holidays, JC Penny has a sale right now so I was going to do that, then when I spoke with them on the phone it sounded more like a drive-through photo session (you get 10 minutes and if you're late AT ALL you lose your spot), so I said -- naah... Anyway, you get where I'm going with this - I couldn't find anything "good" until I searched Google and Ellie's name appeared. I read the reviews, went on her website and saw the prices. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to spend that kind of money but hey - it's an hour long shoot, the reviews are amazing and it's something special for my fiancé and me so what the heck right?! :) YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! She is so sweet, poses you in many different positions, and even gives you the option to do your own thing/poses if you want. Well worth the money I promise! It was an experience I will never forget and I walked away with what I consider to be high quality art and a collection of genuine, personal moments frozen in time forever. Alyona went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and that the process was as simple as possible. She helped coordinate and plan everything (Hair, make-up, clothing, location, theme) all the way from our pre-photoshoot consultation, through 2 weeks of putting outfits together and even helped me through the photoshoot with posture, posing and angles. You don't just show up w/ a bunch of clothes and take pictures, everything is pre-planned and carefully thought out & coordinated (together). The homemade snacks were delicious as well. When I was looking for a photographer online I was magnetically drawn to her work because she was the only one where I could literally see HER in her client's photographs. I was confident that she was able to see the absolute best in each of her clients and bring it out of them and capture it....which was very important to me. I am in the middle of a very personal and intimate project where I needed natural and genuine photographs to compliment it perfectly.
