Signature Damda latte
Maxine V.

Damda has some of the best coffee and matcha drinks I've tasted in LA. As someone who loves to explore and try different cafes, Damda actually turned me into a regular. I normally come for their Americano in the morning, especially when I know I'll have a long day ahead. You can taste the different notes the coffee carries with no acidity at all, it's absolutely delicious! My boyfriend also loves their signature latte and that became his staple. During one of my visits, an excited guest who was leaving recommended the Naju pear matcha latte. I was so glad I listened to him and tried it out because that drink was exceptional! The nuttiness of the matcha and koji milk paired perfectly with the pear syrup. It was a perfect balance of sweet and creamy and you can really taste the pear and matcha flavours. The texture was also reminiscent of eating a pear. The only thing is there's not a ton of seating available, there's a small bar and a couple of tables.

Whenever I go to a place and I see a new matcha place I will get something as I personally love matcha and trying new matcha spots is one of my favorite hobbies. Tried their Naju pear matcha, which I had never seen that combination before and I really liked it. The bits of pear went very nicely with the strong taste of the matcha. They also Had pastries and breakfast sandwiches, but since I had already eaten, I didn't try any of it, but will definitely be back, as I'm also intrigued by the chocolate cream matcha.

Update: got my bacon egg cheese sando and yummy!!! So delish. Thanks, chef Oh, this is a great place to have a nice breakfast sandwich and coffee. I have been here twice and each time my food and drink has been top tier! I've only eaten the egg sando, but today when I walk down, it will be the bacon egg sando. I already have coffee from home, but I'm excited to try the new meal order. The service is always polite and fun and very helpful. My cold brew was made with a little history of the drink and some nice jokes thrown in to amuse. I'm always down for a happy morning person. The place is small so don't expect to fit 15-20 people inside. It's more of a pick up the food and go kind of vibe unless you live close and make it there before anyone else. Anyway, check it out if you're in the area. Also, I let my egg sandwich go cold at work (got busy) ate it before I left and it was still delicious. The chef is amazing.

Located in Little Tokyo, along the edge so it can be easily missed. I walked over from the train station but there is only street parking. The storefront is pretty small so limited seating inside. I tried their sweet cream matcha latte ($7.50) with no sugar and Koatji oat milk. It was nice that the milk substitute is free! The matcha was strong and authentic. Service was quick in getting the drink.

Stopped by Damda on a really hot day, and their matcha was the perfect refreshment I got the blueberry matcha latte with oat milk, and I was happy to see that they don't charge extra for alternative milk! My drink was ready in about a minute, which was great, and the matcha was delicious. The space is really nice, the barista was friendly, and the prices were pretty reasonable for LA matcha. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

The staff was super nice! When we went, the store was empty and the drink was made promptly. We got the Pear Matcha and I would say there was virtually no pear flavor... Furthermore the matcha flavor was so weak that it was overpowered by the milk :( I think this place has a lot of potential so I'll be back! But for now it does not hold its own among the matcha titans of Los Angeles.

Came here after a nice yoga session at grand park, and it was a really nice pick me up! We got the chocolate cream & salted caramel matcha, along with the salted caramel cream latte! I didn't try the matcha but I was told it was good! I enjoyed the salted caramel cream latte as it wasn't too sweet. I really enjoyed their egg & cheddar sandwich, which came with a crispy hash brown. The inside is limited in seating but if you're able to score a seat, then you're in luck! It can get a bit busy so expect a wait as there were only two workers at the time and they were a bit backed up! Nonetheless, everything was good! They are a cashless establishment!

I love this place! The owner is the sweetest and the ambiance is amazing! We love the vibes. Some of the workers aren't as excited or enthusiastic but! The product makes up for it. The pastries and sandwiches are so good! I love the sando and the taste of it. It's perfection and makes the day 10x better when trying it out. Definitely worth a visit!

Rebrand! Loving the new interior. Great area to catch up with friends and get a coffee. The everything breakfast sando is great and I love that they have really crispy hash browns! Tried the chocolate cream matcha and I definitely enjoyed that! Staff was super helpful and friendly!

I attended their soft opening, and it's a beautiful cafe! There was plenty of street parking available right in front. Since they open early at 6:30 am, parking fees aren't enforced until 8 am. I ordered the Sweet Cream Cold Brew and the Salted Caramel Cream Matcha Latte with oat milk. Both were delicious and made well. I enjoyed that the sweetness came primarily from the cream toppings. The matcha was a vibrant green with a distinct earthy flavor--always a positive sign of good quality matcha. The cold brew was smooth and not acidic. I would order both drinks again. They also offer a small selection of breakfast items and baked goods. I opted in for the butter croissant, and it was delicious when warmed up. The cost of all four items was $27.30 including tax and tip. The service was good. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. I look forward to trying more of their drinks the next time I'm in the area.

Paying a visit to Damda meant dealing with finding parking in the area which kinda needed extra patience and luck lol. In love with the terracota theme for sure, and it's actually an adorable petite space for quick coffee break. Not that busy during weekday afternoon so getting my drink ready swiftly, but couldn't really sit and chill tho as I couldn't find a long-duration parking spot. Torn between coffee and matcha, then ended with their salted caramel cream matcha latte. They might have used blue spirulina if I jogged my memory right. The cream was pretty nice with light but just right sweetness. The matcha was so-so for my liking but YMMV! Would probably be back and gave a try for their coffee.

Friendly service and the coffee was delicious. You can taste the great quality. They have a few tables to sit and chat. The croissant I got was also very good.

I got the hojicha latte by its house special, choice and recommended hojicha powder with oatmilk and absolute no fuss customer service. Not to mention, that variety of hojicha is definitely Korean whereas the matcha shifts recommendations season-to-season and depends upon the syrups of the shifting preferences in-house.

I stumbled across their Yelp page when I was visiting from out of town and checked the Instagram for their hours on a Saturday afternoon and was happy to see they were open! I am a sucker for pop-up coffee shop/cart concepts so I had to check it out. The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves!
