This place is all Instagram hype and nothing else. The restaurant smelled like urine, the patio reeked of charcoal smoke from the hookah lounge next door, and we had to clean our own table before sitting down. Meanwhile, there were 5 or 6 employees standing behind the counter laughing and chatting while customers were left trying to figure out how to place their own orders on the tablet and clean their own tables. We ordered 3 sandwiches and only got 2. After waiting 20 minutes for the missing sandwich, I asked to cancel it since everyone was already done eating. Instead of apologizing, the staff started lecturing us and asking if we owned a restaurant because they don't apparently bring the whole order together, which makes no sense. You don't halfa$$ an order when you're serving sandwiches... argued about refund and refused to process it Yes, mistakes happen. But when customers are doing the cleaning, teaching themselves how to order, and still not getting their food, that's not a mistake--it's terrible management. As someone who absolutely cannot be compelled to wait in the 2 hour line at Miya Miya, I was recommended Dama Grill as an alternative by several of my friends, and it's 100% worth the hype! I showed up a few minutes after opening, and there was no line + only a 20 minute wait to get my order, which in my opinion, is a win considering my shawarma was prepared fresh to order! I decided to try their chicken combo and spicy chicken shawarma wrap, and I was absolutely BLOWN away by both! The chicken combo featured thick, juicy and flavorful grilled chicken kebabs, pita bread, fries, and pickled vegetables and peppers (although I would probably order the rice combo next time). The place was not that full at the time we went but it did take them quite a while to get our food out. I had a chicken wrap, a beef wrap and another spicy chicken wrap. All together it was about 50 dollars with no additional drinks or sides. All together it was three large wraps which was enough for two people. In my opinion a bit too expensive. The sauces were pretty good. I loved the creamy garlic. The beef wrap was my least favorite. The parsley and cucumber did add to the freshness but the meat felt too dry and not very flavorful. The chicken wrap was carried by the delicious sauces which made it much more juicy and flavorful. The spicy chicken one was also really good. I would definitely order that one again. The baklava was delicious too. The chicken wraps are definitely delicious but for the price and the long wait times I wouldn't make this my first choice. I found it on TikTok, and since we love Syrian shawarma and it's close to our neighborhood, we figured we'd check it out. We ordered the Xanders Shawarma (chicken shawarma with spice sauce, creamy garlic sauce and crispy fries) and the Syrian-style beef shawarma. We also got chocolate pistachio baklava and a side of fries. The Xander shawarma was definitely the best thing we got. The chicken was super juicy and flavorful. I just wish it had pickles and that spicy sauce. It needed that extra kick. Still, I'd get it again for sure. The Syrian-style beef shawarma was kind of a letdown. It didn't have the same punch. Maybe there was less meat, or it just didn't have enough sauce or spice, but it felt dry and kind of bland. I couldn't really taste any marinade either, which was disappointing. The garlic sauce, tahini, and pomegranate molasses were all solid. The garlic sauce especially added a lot to both wraps. The fries were really crispy and well-seasoned. I'd have those again, no question. The chocolate pistachio baklava, though, was not it. It came out warm, which was nice, but there was barely any flavor. There's a lot of good and some bad experiences from my visit here, but I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt (for my first visit) and rate this based on the food I ate. Let's start with the good: the food itself is fantastic - we had the chicken shawarma wrap, beef shawarma wrap, and another beef wrap (I think the kafta). All were really good and everything is halal. The toum (garlic sauce) has a very modern, smooth creamy texture and is not that strong. I prefer a thicker and more concentrated toum but to each their own. I will definitely be back to try this again Now the bad - the crew were severely understaffed for a sunday afternoon rush. It took really long to get our order and even then we were missing one thing which took them almost an hour to get us. I had to stand waiting for it since there's no proper system to notify you when your order is ready while the rest of my party sat and ate their food. They need better coordination or more staff in the kitchen. All our orders were also missing the dollop of pomegranate molasses on top but maybe they were just too busy to keep track of that. The parking situation is a little tight - there's a small lot and (some) street parking along the main road and the inside street. There were a lot of people with dogs, both inside and outside which I don't think is too sanitary especially considering how small the inside area is. Bathroom needs some serious TLC too. I will be visiting again and updating my review based on the overall experience next time, hope things are better! read more

They need multiple kiosks to order from because they only had one everyone stood in line for. Oh boy......I am very pissed right now. I was so excited to try this place. It's been about 45 minutes and I've finally calmed down. I placed my order via kiosk. There are 4 people working there. An older gentleman in the back, cooking kabobs. Another gentleman making the shawarma. A guy that seems to be prepping and expediting and the lady in the front. I'm painting a picture...stay with me. After placing my order I stood at the door which is an elevated position, watching all the magic happen in the kitchen. The lady at the front was getting the orders together, bagging them up and getting customers out. It is now 12:15pm. They opened at 12pm and there's 13 people waiting to order or have ordered. It's busy. As the lady at the front is getting orders together, one of the shawarma wraps fall out of the bag, onto the floor. She reaches to pick it up. She tells the prepper guy that she needs a new one because it fell on the floor and hands it to him. He then takes it to the back to put it down. At this point I'm wondering why she and/or the guy just didn't throw it away. That was my first thought. It should've been a reflex to toss it.out. I'm still standing by the door watching all of this happen. The prepper guy is now back at his station for a few then proceeds to go back to the area with the warp that fell on the floor is sitting. He unwrapped it, dusted it off and re-wrapped it. I'm watching this happen live in 4K. He grabbed it, carried it to his station, went to the griddle where there were wraps cooking and counted them and then back to his station. He then put it in the bag and placed it on the front counter and told the lady that it was with order 6. Guess what......I'M ORDER 6. I'm in absolute disbelief right now. In the same amount of time it to him to fake like he was making another one, he could have made another one. I always knew that some restaurants did this type of thing, but I've never seen it in real life. As the lady packs my bag and put the dropped item in there she says "number 6". I beeline to counter and tell her to give me bag. I look at it and show here that this is the one she dropped. She said no...he made another one. I said no he didn't I watched him. I didn't even think to ask for my money back, I was that mad. On the way home I saw a homeless guy and gave the bag to him. That was a $45 plus tip order down the drain. If you choose to eat here, it's on you....I'm not telling you not to but keep an eye on the people that work there. This should deserve a call to the health department.
