Her depth of knowledge in her field, combined with how generous she is in sharing that knowledge, truly sets her apart. Cheap Price, Expensive Headache-Read Before Booking…read more Honest Review I purchased a package on Groupon because the prices were low, even though I live over an hour away. I gave this business multiple chances, trying to be patient and fair, but the experience consistently cost more in time, energy, and peace of mind than the savings were worth. Please note Arlene is the owner and provides the services. Privacy & Atmosphere The space is very small and intimate, and clients may overlap. If privacy matters during services where you're partially undressed, keep that in mind before booking. Energy & Professionalism Nearly every visit involved long, negative conversations about personal issues, family drama, or complaints about other clients. I eventually started bringing AirPods just to tune it out. Given that pattern, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm now the topic of conversation as well. Appointments were routinely 30-60 minutes late, with scheduling mix-ups where I was mistaken for another client and received hostile messages before the mistake was realized. On one visit, her elderly mother was present during my service, which felt very unprofessional given the intimate nature of the treatment. Final Experience For my last appointment, which I scheduled a week in advance, I arrived early and was told she would be late. Shortly after, the timing changed again and part of the service I booked was no longer being offered. When I calmly addressed the repeated timing issues, the conversation quickly became hostile and I was told it didn't matter if I filed a complaint or left a review. Ironically, this was the first time I was treated as a "problem" client despite the fact that earlier she had even asked me to record a testimonial about her services. If I was truly a difficult client, that request wouldn't have made much sense. Bottom Line I showed grace multiple times, but repeated negativity, disorganization, and personal matters affecting clients is unacceptable. Regardless of the price paid, clients are still paying customers, and the merchant sets the price of their own services. Affordable prices may attract customers, but professionalism, respect for clients' time, and a peaceful environment are what keeps them. Final Note Given that I was told reviews don't matter, I'm curious to see whether the merchant responds professionally, ignores this entirely, or responds in the same tone I experienced when raising my concerns. Lastly, the 13 whopping client reviews spread across Groupon and Yelp speaks volumes and are misleading. But hey see for yourself and don't foget your airpods!

I've lived in Long Beach a long time and I have thought this building was abandoned so entering and finding my way with the lights off I was sure I was in the wrong place! Lol, but I wasn't. Once I made it to the 6th floor, Monica was waiting for me in her beautifully serene studio. Her presence was calling, the studio is beautiful, and the entire experience was incredibly relaxing. She gave me a few tips for ongoing maintenance, and sent me home with some detox tea. While the facial treatment was more untraditional in the sense of products, cleansing, etc (the focus was lymphatic drainage), it was very pleasant and you can absolutely fall asleep. I do wish there was an option to add more traditional esthetician treatment with the massage add on, but I really enjoyed it.

This business tried to swindle me out of $60. I booked a lymphatic drainage massage through Groupon…read moreon August 22 for August 28 at 9 AM with Monica. They operate through the booking system Vagaro, which only sends an appointment request. The business owner must approve the request to confirm the appointment. Monica never approved mine and made no effort to reach out, even with my appointment request pending for days. I texted her at 10 AM on August 27, and only then did she acknowledge my appointment for August 28 at 9 AM. An hour before my appointment, she canceled claiming a power outage however I have a friend who lives less than two minutes from her shop and their electricity was fine, so I am not sure how valid that excuse really was. At first, I wasn't upset because cancellations happen and I simply requested a refund from Groupon. I even provided screenshots of our full text thread showing that Monica canceled on me. Instead of being honest, Monica lied and told Groupon that I was a no-show. When I confronted her about it with proof, she responded by saying she would reach out to Groupon to correct the issue and still claimed that she did not cancel the appointment. Less than 24 hours later, Groupon emailed me again saying the merchant reconfirmed I was a no-show and even provided "photo evidence." How that's possible when my only communication with this business is in the attached text thread where she clearly cancels is beyond me. That false statement blocked my refund and left me having to dispute the charge with my bank. This is very unprofessional and consumer fraud. If you are considering these businesses (LB Sculpt x Cali Bods), beware. The lack of integrity, poor communication, and dishonesty about cancellations show they do not operate ethically. No customer should ever be lied about or penalized just so a business owner can avoid issuing a refund.
