You place your order as soon as you enter. We were unsure as to how it worked so went to look at the salad bar. It was ok nothing spectacular. They also had soup. All food in this area is weighed and you pay by the ounce. Reminded me of a hospital cafeteria except it was more expensive. I was never sure how much per ounce. A friend had the chicken salad sandwich which was on the most wonderful croissant. Chicken salad is very thickly applied. It was good not over the top but good also we split a coconut cream pie. It was on the heavy side a lot of coconut and not much pudding. I like my coconut cream nice and fluffy. . For a very small salad and the chicken sandwich, it was 39. Dollars a bit much.

Then the worker came over to check how our food was and if we needed anything else. Highly recommend the BLT or the BBQ Grilled Cheese. If you do the meal, get the parmesan ranch style chips. The portions were great! The interior has a small store and a dining area beside the salad bar. The restroom is small but has a baby changing area if needed.

I really like the European vibe of this place right here in IN. It was a little nostalgic, feeling…read morelike you stepped into a little café in Paris. They had a special for the day. Lobster quesadilla! Yes, please! Lobster quesadillas in a quaint little town-I'm impressed! The flavor of this did not disappoint either. It was very tasty! At first glance, I was concerned because the filling was very minimal. It was very very flavorful and definitely enough lobster filling. The pico was extremely fresh and I've enjoyed having the peppers and jalapeños in it. it was not too spicy, it was just right. I also did the up charge and got the Tom Thai soup. They asked if I wanted crackers or bread. I was thinking is that a question? I very cheerfully stated, "I will take the bread!" Even though the bread did not have a lot of flavor, it was fresh, warm and very comforting to eat. This will definitely be a new place I will be stopping at any time I'm in the area. The only reason for the four star is, I also ordered an unsweet tea and they forgot to put it in my bag. (All drinks are bottled-no fountain drinks) therefore, I had to turn around and go back and get it. Thankfully, I was only a few blocks away when I noticed it was not in my bag.

I have to say hands down the best turkey salad sandwich on brioche bun that I will probably ever have in my life!!! It's a must try!

This spot was jumping this Sunday afternoon. Definitely a popular choice with the locals, and…read morethat's always a good sign! The parking lot was full, but we were able to be sat right away. We were taken to a booth and the seats and table were wet from the quick wipe it had just been given. It wasn't just wet, there were also lots of crumbs that had been left behind. As I looked around, I noticed that the floors were littered with trash and food also. Straw wrappers, napkins and bits of food were present under each and every table. I understand that during a busy rush, the staff probably can't take the time to sweep, but even after the rush nobody bothered to address it. There was a gentleman bussing tables who stayed "on patrol", though. He circled the dining room at regular intervals and made sure that dishes were cleared in a timely manner. I see you, sir! We were greeted right away and our drink orders were taken. That young lady was very kind and upbeat, which was quite welcoming. When she returned with our beverages, she offered to take our orders, but we weren't ready. And just like that, she ditched us! J/K, but kind of for real. A different waitress appeared and took over from there. She was efficient and took good care of us, but in a way, she wasn't as warm. She was no-nonsense and straight to the point. Our food was decent. My husband had The Special, which is a basic breakfast plate (eggs, French toast and bacon), I had the turkey club with fries, and my in-laws both had phily steak sandwiches with fries. The food didn't come out super fast, but that gave us time to settle-in and not feel rushed. It was quite nice and a change from what my husband and I are accustomed to where we live. We had a leisurely meal and caught up with old friends who wandered in and out during our meal. That was another clear sign that this place is a local favorite.

Some friends ordered drinks while we waited for the last member of our group for a while, but once we all had sat down and ordered entrees, she treated us better. Staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergy and dairy needs, which helped me a lot! There were several options I could have on the dinner menu and I ended up having a burger (no fries--no dedicated fryer) and a salad with chickpeas. Both were excellent! The atmosphere is interesting. It gets busy in there and it's a pretty open space, so can be kind of loud. But you can watch the kitchen a bit from certain tables and there's a large fireplace on one wall. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely enjoy another dinner here!

Stopped here for a break and lunch while passing through Indiana. The Farmhouse Restaurant menu…read moresaid they offer a "quick & casual lunch" and well, they weren't lying about the casual part... We ordered two lunches, both the 1/2 grilled cheese and soup. One with tomato soup and the other with chili. We also ordered the *special* $5 egg salad sandwich. The grilled cheese came out as some cheese microwaved between a soft burger bun. Really disappointing and crappy. The chili and soup were okay. The egg salad sandwich was very basic and lacking flavor, served on classic white bread. It was also a weird dining setup, it felt like we were eating in a giant and deserted beer hall. Total transparency: we both expected more from one of the nation's largest dairy farms. We also thought the food would be a little cleaner, like a farm-to-table experience and less processed, but it tasted like food we could get at a gas station. My husband was disappointed with the ice cream selection at the milk bar, he was hoping for more of a variety other than the basic strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, etc. We also needed to get DEF for our truck from the Fair Oaks BP and my husband called it "highway robbery" for the cost we paid. He said it was 2 or 3 times what he normally pays. In summary, a total tourist trap with crappy lunch food. I also didn't know about their animal abuse case from 2019 until after we left. And the allegations about neglect and improper slaughter in 2023. Gross and sad.
