Went to DaLinda's Alterations (specifically Luda) by recommendation from Mia at Garnish Boutique for fitting/alteration of my wedding dress in Spring 2024. Luda is friendly and warm, and the fitting experience itself was quite pleasant. However, left to leave a cautioning review based on final product and experience. At my final fitting (-1 month to wedding day) I expressed very clear concern about the fit of the bust area of my dress. I felt that the dress wasn't tight enough, and even standing in the fitting room I was having to pull it up again and again. Luda dismissed my concerns and said "nothing could be done". Low and behold, my dress was falling down SO much during my wedding day making the dress hugely uncomfortable and impractical (I kept stepping on the fabric because of the excess length. Additionally, Luda did my bustle and it did not last more than 30 minutes into the night. The bustle broke at 2 of the 3 hem/button points, and also pulled off 2 of my dress' buttons with it - making a much larger issue. The price was EXTREMELY high for the quality of work (or lack thereof). I was priced $1100 cash as a blanket cost (dress was satin material with no embellishment). Would suggest going elsewhere for better quality and better price. read more

I'm actually glad I didn't have my dress altered at this shop. While it looks like they receive a lot of business and good reviews, upon my first interaction with the business owner, I had an inkling to go elsewhere. I walked into the shop, dress and heels in hand. The two women sitting at their working station just looked at me. Um... hello? Finally one gets up (obviously annoyed) and comes to the counter asking what do I need. Simple. I want my dress hemmed and taken in. What do you charge? I had safety pins in place of where I wanted it cut and taken in. I brought my heels just in case she wanted me to try on the dress to see exactly how much she had to cut (which I assume all seamstresses do). She said "well, I don't know how much I need to cut so it could be 50-60. And 60 to hem". Girl bye. You can't give a quote without knowing exactly what you're doing. And you don't even know how soon I need it. She obviously didn't want to be bothered so I just left. And now I know where not to go. read more

They lost my veil and when I called it was on the wedding day and they didn't care to look asap. Needless to say they didn't take any ownership and just left me without a veil on my wedding day. Still haven't heard back from them. read more

Took my MOB gown there for a hem and to make a plunge neckline modest. Before we began, I asked her if she could do this. She told me yes. This woman does not know what she is doing. She pulled my shoulders up way too high before I told her the seam under the cups were in the middle of my breasts. She said, 'oh, you don't want it there?' Seriously? So she readjusted the pins and pinned together part of the plunge. Then one of her staff marked the hem so fast, literally about 10-15 seconds. Needless to say, $200 CASH, and the hem dragged on the ground and I had weird puckers in the V neck. I didn't ask her to fix it because I didn't want her to wreck it any more. It was barely wearable. When you go to a TAILOR, you expect more than shoddy work. It seems like this place must have had a change of staff or ownership, because old reviews were great. Obviously I do not recommend this place and further tell anybody who wants to look good on such a once-in-a-lifetime day to find somewhere else. read more

Luda is the most wonderful seamstress I know! Besides the perfect shoulder, waist, and hem alterations, Luda went above and beyond covering my bridal gown with over 400 individual sequins! Luda did a phenomenal job on my wedding gown and I could not be more grateful. I saw her several times to make sure the alterations were just right, and she was always happy to tweak something to make sure that the fit was perfect. On top of that, she was able to make a lace topper that was easily a few sizes too big look like it was made for me, and made to go with my dress. Luda was also very patient throughout the process, even when I was worried about timing, she assured me it would all get done in time - and everything was ready far ahead of schedule. I could've written a positive review for Luda at Dalinda's three visits ago, because her service is consistently wonderful, but my most recent visit took the cake. I tried on a bridesmaid dress for her to alter and she told me that it didn't need to be done. She showed me how having it pressed would allow it to hang correctly without alterations and suggested that I not alter it. Now that, ladies and gents, is service! She could have easily made up some alterations to pad her own pocket and I would've gotten back a dress that looked odd. But she gave me her honest opinion even if it meant that I didn't need her services that day. That is why I'll come back to her every time I need alterations! read more

Luda is absolutely amazing at what she does and I recommend her to anyone without an ounce of hesitation. She is extremely talented and was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding dress alterations. My wedding dress fit okay when I received it from the designer, but when I brought it to Luda, she transformed the dress into everything I have dreamed of since I was a little girl. Luda did the alterations on my wedding dress. She performed the most intricate of work with delight and supreme professionalism. I had bought a sample size of a Reem Acra gown and essentially had to have the dress remade to fit me. Her prices were reasonable and appropriate for the amount of work I asked her to do. I had my wedding dress altered at Dalinda's. I was generally pleased with the service. The dress fit me perfectly and I had several alterations included in one price. The only problem I had was with the bustle. It was difficult to bustle the dress and even after it was bustled, it ended up dragging on the ground a little bit. Also, I'd say that the alterations were a bit pricy, but I was willing to pay it to make sure my dress looked great on me for my special day. I will probably go back if I need any dresses altered in the future. Also, bring cash or check. No credit cards accepted! read more

GO. TO. LUDA. Some mixed reviews that I read resulted in me going to another seamstress who had no idea what she was doing and damaged my dress. At the urging of Mia at Garnish Boutique, my mother and I both took our dresses to Luda one month ahead of my wedding. Luda was such a great resource, and with one look at me in my dress had recommendations for alterations that I had not even considered but made a world of difference. She also significantly improved how my mother's dress for the wedding fit her around the torso. The most amazing thing that Luda did was repair/restore a beaded headpiece/veil that my grandmother wore in the 1950's for her wedding that I wanted to wear for my ceremony. Luda did an excellent job with this fragile, vintage piece and it looked perfect. Her pricing was also so reasonable, especially for the quality of work and expertise that she provided. I had a horrible experience working with the owner. I purchased my dress at Garnish Boutique and had it transferred for alterations at their recommendation. I went in for my consultation and I was told my dress that had a scalloped lace bottom would be $600 to alter everything (half the price I paid for the dress). I explained that that seemed very expensive and was told that "it's a lot of work." I reluctantly agreed as I am not a was unsure of the retail value for the services. My first fitting went great I gave her the $300 cash deposit (this is all she accepts) and she wrote in red marker on a paper ticket that I paid $300. I remarked that the strapless top seemed to be falling down but she assured me once she tightened and raised the back it would fit perfect. When I went back for my second fitting I commented that the top was still falling and not fitting properly. She told me that I lost weight and this was my fault not hers and that I would need to pay $100 extra to have fixed. I explained to her that I had told her about the top the previous fitting and she assured me it would fit and that I hadn't lost any weight from the previous fitting. She continued to attempt to argue with me and yell at me telling me she had to take her medication because I was raising her blood pressure. At this point I told her never mind I would take my dress elsewhere and she literally took the dress out of my hands and put it in her back room. Keep in mind that I was alone at this fitting and completely dumbfounded and upset. I had no idea what I was supposed to do and told her if she didn't give me my dress back I was going to call the police. She continued to refuse but after all this agreed to alter the top "for free." I told her that I didn't trust her anymore and didn't want her altering my dress after she yelled at me and refused to give me my dress back. She continued to tell me she would never do anything to my dress as it was her business and reputation on the line. She apologize for yelling at me and said she would take care of it. I literally was alone crying not sure what to do and had to ask another costumer that witnessed everything what to do. She encouraged me to allow her to complete the alterations after she agreed not to charge me extra and reassured me she does good work. I VERY reluctantly left her with my dress and felt so upset about the whole situation. The final fitting I came with support and brought my no nonsense mother in law. The dress fit THANK GOD which is why I'm giving 2 stars. Overall the experience was horrible and pretty much ruined my excitement about my dress and made me very stressed in an already stressful time. My recommendation would be to go elsewhere and if you don't go elsewhere get some kind of legitimate receipt. read more

I haven't been compelled to write a Yelp review before but Luda at Delinda's was excellent in altering my wedding gown and my mother's dress for the wedding! She was able to make some extra alterations to give my dress more shape and made a beautiful bussel. I beg you not take your wedding dress to Dalinda's! She is sloppy with her work and completely wrecked my $5,000 gown. She left seams open and some half stitched, she poorly hand stitched my bow in place and left it dangling from the dress. I had to go to her at least 4 times --each time pointing out several of her oversights and she had a load of excuses for everything. She constantly complains about not having money to pay her rent and upcharging for her mistakes. She did such a horrible job that after my mom saw her pathetic work, she asked for her own "mother of the bride" dress back and had it altered elsewhere. She is a complete rip off and a scam artist. She should be and probably will be reported to the BBB soon. She should be closed down! Unfortunately the real Dalinda passed away many years ago leaving this shop to her assistant Luda (spelling?) tall woman with heavy accent--this woman is ruining Dalinda's good name and reputation. She has ruined my dress and I am now trying to salvage it with another tailor! RUN RUN RUN while you still can!!! read more

Luda at Dalinda's gave me the somewhat unconventional wedding look I dreamed of and it's exactly what I envisioned. She really "fairy godmothered"the dress, which was already lovely, and it looks wonderful. Her prices were very cheap for all of the hard work she did.
