I was struggling finding somewhere local to do my bridal alterations and I stumbled upon an advertisement for this place at a local diner, of all places! I looked them up and they had great reviews, so I decided to go for it. I made an appointment and tried on my dress. We decided that I needed the dress brought in a bit at the waist but the rest of the dress was perfect. When I came back a week before my wedding for a final fitting, the dress fit perfectly and looked stunning. It made a huge difference! It was much more flattering. There was lace overlay, but you couldn't even tell the dress had ever been altered. The whole process was super easy, fast, and well-priced. We also decided to get my partner's suit rental through Sew More Couture. It was a great deal- you get measured and order the suit, Sew More Couture will do the alterations as needed for free, and then you drop off a day or two after your wedding. My partner's pocket square came in in the wrong color, but they managed to get one delivered the day before the wedding in the correct color for us. The jacket alterations they did also looked fantastic on him. Overall, we were really happy with Sew More Couture and would definitely recommended for weddings, or any other alterations needed! Would definitely not go again- disappointed in this company that was recommend to me. Jun 1 I dropped off 5 skirts. 3 to have the waist brought in and 2 for a cleaning: seams, zipper, and etc. For the 3 skirts that had to have the waist in I brought in a skirt with the waist size I wanted so that there didn't have to be a fitting. I was scheduled to pick up on June 13th as I had speaking engagements then next few days. On the 13th when I was driving to pick up I got a call that they weren't ready yet, but if I came I could wait 20 min for them. I ended up waiting 1.5 hours and during that time there were other customers that came in that also wasn't done and would be additional days to what I believe is new work they got in. I wait 1.5 hours while they work on my skirts and the young lady who was working on the last one asked me to try it on for fit, I do and she has to take it in more. I also had to come back a month later for the skirts that weren't finished. The next day I get a call from the owner stating that there was a fitting down that I didn't pay for. I was completely confused. I did not understand why she was calling to charge me for a fitting that the young woman asked me to do and after I waited 1.5 hours. It made no sense. We went back and forth because she must have forgotten that I brought in the additional skirt for sizing and didn't need the fitting, didn't know I waited as long as I did, didn't know that the young lady asked for me to try it on, and also didn't get the full story of what occurred. Fast forward. On July 13 I come to grab the skirts and it is obvious that either the work has been done or it has been down sub par. I was able to get a refund thank gosh. I needed my dress hemmed for a wedding I am attending in the next few weeks. When I called for an appointment, I asked about the price to just hem the bottom of my dress. The woman on the phone told me there was no way she could tell me a number, but said it would most likely be lower than $100. I decided to take the chance and have this business hem my dress because I had a similar dress hemmed for $40 in the past and was in a time crunch. After standing in my dress for 45 min on the stand while the seamstress pinned the dress, I was told it would be $145 because she was charging me $70 for the "Chiffon" layer. Meanwhile, the dress cost $50 and I was asking her to hem two. I took my business elsewhere and am having it hemmed for 1/3 of the price, which I was told upfront. I think it would be better for both the business and the customer for the business to disclose the price upfront, and to invest in a hem marker to save everyone the time, which is used in most other seamstress shops I've been to and takes far less time to acquire measurements. read more

She even added an internal belt to hold up the heavy bottom of the dress and make me feel more comfortable. She was always responsive and kind. I needed last minute alterations for a cruise and they had me ready in time. I called them and they put me on their schedule immediately.

It was very simple and easy to request an appointment and pick a time right on their appointment website. I found the business quite easily, just had to read the suite numbers on the side of the building. I walked in right at my appointment time and got right in. She had me put on my bridesmaids dress and helped me get fitted. She was so quick and very professional. Dress was done in about a month. Make sure you give yourself some wiggle room. Was about $100 for the gown, not sure how that price compares to others. However, she was very professional and the place was clean. Will be going back for sure! read more

We chose SMC because of the wonderful reviews and pictures. The first visit (April 2022) was great. We felt they understood what my daughter wanted and said they had plenty of time. This was 3 months before we had to leave for the wedding (out of country). Second visit (May 2022) - scheduled for two weeks after the first. They called to reschedule and make it two weeks later but assured us there was still plenty of time. We had to move it one week later as my daughter was out of town. At this visit, there was less done than we expected. The seams were undone but the straps hadn't been let out - in retrospect, this is where things started going downhill as her dress was pinned with the straps too tight so it wasn't lining up to her waist. Third visit (June 2022) - The dress just didn't fit right. Things were way off. It didn't close in the back. The straps were hanging loose which was fine but we realized now that the issue is that everything wasn't lining up. The bust was now way too low (since the straps were not strapped at all). The seams were lumpy and uneven. The liner was now too short. We had asked them to cut the back of the liner (the liner had a train) to match the front of the dress. Now the liner was suddenly much shorter than the lace/mesh layers and her feet were showing. They repinned and said to come back in July but had concerns about the camp they were running so they scheduled us the Friday before camp. 4th visit (July 2022) - this visit was rescheduled by them - now it was during camp week. This was supposed to be the final visit. The seams were still lumpy. The hem was let out but it was still too short. We were supposed to be leaving the next day but our schedule was changed so we had another week. We asked them to fix the seams. 5th visit (July 2022) - This was two days before we left. The seam was still lumpy but slightly better. The bust area was good but her bra cup was still showing (we were told there was nothing that could be done about that). The liner was still too short. We took her dress and left. Obviously, there was nothing they were going to do to fix it. We ran to the mall and bought shorter shoes to try to help the issue with the liner. Before the wedding - we decided to fix her dress ourselves. We took out the side seams which made us understand what went wrong. We realized that the rest of the dress had the liner layer seam by itself, then each layer of tulle had it's own seam and the top layer had lace glued to it. When they had taken apart the seams, they wound up sewing it all up together. This led to a lumpy seam right at her waist/hip area. Further, the reason the liner was too short was because it bunched up into the seam - they had hemmed it and then sewed it into the seam and bunched it up. Once I took apart the seam, the hem was again the right length. I hand sewed her dress and while not perfect, it was much better than when we had picked it up. Lastly, one issue we had mentioned at the very first visit was that there was too much material above her bottom. At the first visit, they told us they could fix it. Later they told us we had never mentioned it and it wasn't on the sheet. They did agree to fix it "If they had time" (recall at the first visit we were told there was plenty of time). They eventually said it was too hard because they would have to take apart the zipper. I was able to fix this by pinning down the layers of tulle at the center seam. It was actually the fix that made us more confident to take out the side seam. In the end, her dress wasn't absolutely perfect but, we were able to make it much better than the way we received it. We would not trust them to alter a dress with this many layers. We wish they had told us they were not comfortable with altering her dress style at our first visit and we would have gone elsewhere. I knew her dress would cost a lot to alter and I was not upset by the $620 price we paid for alterations UNTIL they messed up her dress which further cost us new shoes and items for me to repair it. read more

Had a great experience during the Beginners Class. The classroom is upstairs once you get inside the building. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The classroom is cozy with at least 6 sewing machines. Beginners don't be afraid! She even includes the late students so they get caught up with everyone else. She's very patient and will help you until you get it right. She gave us a learning guide to take with us and recommended some great sewing machine brands to purchase. Fantastic place! Came here to get a bridesmaid dress altered and the process was smooth and painless. I arrived at my appointment time and waited a few minutes then got changed into my dress. I only needed a couple tiny alterations and the price was very reasonable. Came back a few weeks later - we scheduled the appointment for when it was going to be ready at my first appointment and they actually texted me ahead of schedule saying it was ready - and it looked great. Excellent talent on what they did (sorry, that's as specific as I can get with sewing, couldn't even tell you if they used a needle and thread, maybe pleating was involved? Best service for alterations that I've seen in a long time! Two pairs of white scrubs I bought for my nursing class came just in time to be altered. I was panicked because I had no idea where to go, as two shops I used closed permanently because of the pandemic. I could never have worn the pants without being cut off and hemmed.
