This place does a fantastic job. I had 2 pairs of pants hemmed for $40. It took 3 weeks (during prom season)

She was able to see me that day as well as gave recommendations on where to buy the sew in bra I needed for the backless dress.

Well when I got there to drop off my shirts to be cleaned and pressed there was a gentleman there that was not happy at all. Claimed they lost his suit. I gave the nice elderly lady a bag containing 10 brand new never worn shirts. I asked for them to be cleaned and pressed. I was a bit shocked 10 shirts cost 43 dollars.. I picked up the shirts 3 days later with hangers all wire tied together covered in a big plastic bag. Today I uncovered them and separated them in horror. 43 dollars to have brand new shirts look a wreck. They have more wrinkles than Ruth Bater Ginzburg. I NEED a few of these shirts in a few days AND need a pair of pants hemmed. What a mess this has become. Do I have them re do them ? And find a new competent cleaners or wash them and iron them myself. They cant be much worse. Wow What a TOTAL disappointment. Won't happen again. Shame on me. Gave them a seco d chance and Im so not impressed. ALL the shirts have pressed in wrinkles. Some have shiny spots from over heating. These were ALL brand new shirts. What kind of crack pot operation lets this lack of quality pass thru their doors.

I truly feel so lucky to have found Marya design. I bought a wedding dress, which was a simple…read moredesign but had a massive train, which I didn't feel particularly comfortable wearing for my relatively casual wedding that didn't have a ceremony. When I was buying the dress, I was told that it would be impossible to remove the train while maintaining the shape of the dress, so I had resigned myself to needing to add a bustle and would just wear it bustled the whole time. When I told Marya what I hoped for, she didn't blink an eye before saying she could remove the train and keep it even all the way around. When she showed me the dress to approve at my second appointment, I was truly speechless. It looked like it was designed that way and looked even better than I could have imagined. So already, she was a true wizard to me, but I ended up using her again to add a lining to another dress I bought for the courthouse, which I loved but had an inner bodysuit that was totally visible through the white fabric. She took out the bodysuit and added a lining so it was not only beautiful, but also way more comfortable to wear. She is an absolute magician, so professional and so incredibly talented. And reasonably priced for the highest quality. What more could you ask for?

I had Marya take in my dress at the waist/hip area and add a bustle, and she did a terrible job! If…read moreit weren't for the other tailor who was able to salvage my dress at the last minute, Marya would've ruined my $3k+ dress! First, after she took in the dress at the hips, a bulge in the fabric formed at my butt. According to another tailor, the bulge formed because Marya didn't alter the dress correctly, not because the dress didn't fit me correctly. It cost me $300 to get rid of the bulge, and finding a tailor to do this last-minute work was so stressful! The hip alterations also caused the buttons to come down my back and hips at a diagonal because Marya only took in the dress at one side, causing an asymmetry. Because she could only finish the hip alterations a week before the wedding, I had to remove all 12 dress buttons to fix the asymmetry. The other tailor would've had to completely reverse her alterations to properly fix the problem, which would've taken weeks. Second, she only took in the top layer of the dress, without taking in the under layers. This caused the larger under layers to bunch up or fold underneath the tighter top layer. It looked like streaks going down the back of my dress! Third, the first time my maid of honor tried to bustle my dress, one of the bustle buttons fell off! I had to rush to sew the button back on, which was extremely stressful because I don't even know how to sew! Lastly, she damaged the beading on the neckline of my dress. Multiple beads on one side of the neckline had fallen off when I got the dress back, creating a noticeable hole. Overall, Marya's poor alterations caused me so much stress a week before my wedding. I highly recommend that anyone with an expensive dress go elsewhere, because according to the tailor who was able to salvage my dress, Marya didn't have the skill or experience to correctly alter my dress!! Edit: - My dress is second-hand, but you can see that the neckline is not damaged in the photo Marya took at my first appointment with her. - Because I did not have a final fitting, I knew there was a chance the dress would be too tight. If the dress simply didn't fit me, I would not be writing this negative review. I'm writing this review because she damaged the neckline of my dress and did not alter my dress correctly, causing issues that could not be properly fixed within a week before my wedding (this was the earliest she could return my dress to me). It seems like she took shortcuts to save time when altering my dress, such as only taking it in on one side and not taking in the under layers of the dress. The only way the dress could be fixed within a week before my wedding was by shortening the zipper, making it extremely difficult to get into the dress, and removing most of the buttons. - I have no reason to lie in this review. Marya won't even give me a partial refund for her services, and I don't have time to go to small claims court. At this point, I just want to help out future brides by writing this honest review. - Marya is trying to get my honest review taken down on other sites, so there might be other negative reviews that she has suppressed.

You couldn't pay me to go back. Customer service was poor and the work was less than acceptable…read more I took in 3 dresses to be hemmed, one pair of pants, and 3 halter tops to have the ties sewn behind the neck. I had not previously used any other tailor, so I had no comparison for prices at the time of my visit. They don't post prices for hemming, because you pay more for multiple layers and less for single layers, which is how the female proprietor explained it. The Glen Burnie and Pasadena areas are lower socioeconomic areas and their prices seemed high, so I only had them hem one of the dresses, the pants, and three halter tops, because the woman tried to charge me the same amount for a single layer hem as the double layer, when the double had a full skirt and the single was narrow. While I was changing, another lady came in with several dresses and was quoted very different prices, I assume because she was dressed more casually and I was dressed professionally. She quoted $6 for each halter top to sew a one inch area together. When I picked them up and tried the dress on, it was acceptable, but the pants were significantly shorter in the back than the front. The neck straps on the halter tops were sewn opposite with right sides to wrong sides and flipped the top to the bottom of the straps, causing them to twist. Her husband does the sewing in the back. So, I called on the phone to calmly discuss the discrepancy with the woman, and she yelled at me and called me a liar. I told her that I would bring them back in, but she needed to make it right. When I got there, she was still angry and fuming, so her husband came out, took them back and fixed them. There was never an apology, and the wife's behavior was unprofessional, unkind, insulting, and I will never return there again. I have since had an opportunity to try several other tailors in the area and have found Marley Tailoring to be the most expensive. I don't know how they stay in business. At the time of my visit, they only accepted cash, no credit cards.

Since I did not know their process, I called first. The process for drop-offs/fittings and pick-ups is scheduled through the website. While on the call, I asked some questions and was provided with a good amount of information to feel confident about scheduling the appointment. The website scheduling process was simple. On the day that I dropped off my garment, the process was pretty quick. I tried on the item and we discussed the alterations. I think the entire visit was about 10-15 minutes. We discussed when I wanted to pick it up, as well as pricing and payment options. We verbally set a pickup day, but it also required a scheduled appointment, so I immediately set a specific appointment for a few days later. When I picked up the item, I tried it on and the alterations were exactly what I wanted. Needless to say, I am pleased with the alterations. I would definitely return. I paid using my phone, so it was great. Comparatively speaking, I think her prices are pretty competitve with other cleaners and tailors in the area.

Despite having them for two weeks, she missed the date they were supposed to be ready and I had to make a second trip to pick them up. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
