Jack's Family Restaurant - Clearly advertises "make it a large for .79"

So, this is my 4th time at this location. I am new to the area and tried them when they first…read moreopened and was happy with the food and the moderate prices. Each time I went, I got the same thing: the #1 Jack Combo. The menu states as clear as day "Upgrade to a large for .79 more" so each time I ordered I upgraded to a large. The previous visits were drive thru, this time however my wife and I ate inside. I told the girl behind the counter (Rebecca) my order. Everything was good but I could tell she must have been new because she seemed a little nervous. I told her I wanted to upgrade my order to a large for the .79 they advertise. When she was done taking my order, I asked her to repeat it back to me just to be sure it was right. It was perfect except she said a regular fry and a large drink. I told her I wanted to upgrade the fries and drink for the .79 cents as advertised on the menu. She got a little flustered and ended up getting a manager (Jordan) I told the manager I didn't understand the confusion, I just wanted to upgrade my combo for the .79 cents is states on the menu (I pointed to the giant menu where is says upgrade to a large for .79 cents) She says "to upgrade the fries it's .55 cents and to upgrade the drink it's .40 cents" Well, that's .95 cents when I went to school. I asked her where the .79 cents came into effect. She said, "well they must not have updated the menu yet". WHAT???? The stores been open for a month or so. How many customers have the stolen from with the bait and switch technique? I know .16 cents isn't a lot but it's the principle. If they sell 100 "upgrades" per day, that an additional $16 they make taking advantage of the customer. Using these selling techniques, I'm not sure I'll go back. Very sad because my wife and I love their food. I shall be posting on my social media as well as telling everyone we know

The restaurant was not busy as we arrived around 7:15pm on a holiday and we were seated immediately. Our waitress came and got our drink order and got those back to us quickly. She proceeded to take our order while answering any questions my children had about substituting menu items or adding additional items. She was courteous and friendly during the whole exchange. Two of my kids got chicken fingers and fries, adding cheese and bacon, while the other got fries and hash brown casserole. My wife and niece got the Grandma's sampler platters. I got the chicken fried chicken with three sides. Mashed potatoes, hash brown casserole, and fried okra! Everyone loved their food and left stuffed with some leftovers. The store was clean and decked out with old fashioned items throughout. The country store was also a hit! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious as always!

I generally don't eat raw chicken. My wife had the shrimp skillet. It was pretty good. When we go out to eat we like to eat together but my meal took another 20 minutes to complete. We won't be back to this location. There was no discount given. There goes an hour and 3/4 out of my life
