As cliche as it sounds, when you fall in love... you just know it. That's exactly how I felt once I stepped inside this glorious haven of underpriced, but quality goods. Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by an aisle dedicated to all sorts of beanies and gloves.. FOR $1.50 EACH? I must be dreaming. Upon further browsing I discovered a plethora of other Japanese goodies for the same price or cheaper. This isn't like your local dollar store; they have quality goods that you won't have to worry about falling apart once you get home. My only complaint is the single line that can get pretty long when it gets busy; why not just make multiple aisles? Anyways, I left the store satisfied with $18 worth of needed items and a content heart. I will definitely be coming back. read more

This is my favorite Daiso location! Mostly because this is the largest Daiso I have yet to see so far. There's plenty of variety of merchandise held at this store and you don't typically find them at other locations. Sometime I would bring friends over and they would be amazed by the size of this location versus others in their local neighborhoods. I would occasionally visit here and eventually find something that I would need for my room/home haha. Don't have a single complaint but will be back! read more

I don't think there's anything negative you can say about Daiso. I LOVE this place! $1.50 for practically everything. Granted, most of the items aren't the highest quality and it's full of stuff I don't really need... but EVERYTHING IS $1.50!! You'll find items you didn't even know existed... lol. One of many locations I have visited. Some are smaller or larger than others so you will find a slight differences in merchandise but so far the price is at $1.50 and up but mostly $1.50. Most of the items are from Japan and some made in China. They're a bit different from a Dollar Tree or 99 Cent Only store but I love them all :-). There isn't ANY exchange or returns so be sure you really want to purchase the item. Make sure you read/view the illustrations well for measurements and so forth as most is written in Japanese. However, the illustrations are wonderful. Lol I made a mistake of buying a toilet seat cover for the style "U" of the public restrooms thinking it was the full circle for my home BLAH ( remember no exchange/returns) so I'm stuck with it and a loss of $1.50. Overall, you'll love the product. Especially the bentos type of containers. read more

This store is so much fun! It's super organized and all kinds of great products. From gardening to stationary, dishes to shoes, hair products to electronic accessories and so much more. Place has a decent selection of product, but service, parking, and credit card minimum of $10 are rather lackluster. If they could at least improve in the service and decrease the credit card minimum, they would get a higher rank. read more

One of the biggest, nicest Daiso locations in the area. Even though Daiso is considered a 'dollar store,' it really doesn't feel like it. They have great stationery, gardening tools, kitchen tools, arts and crafts stuff, decorations, air fresheners, office supplies, cosmetics, bathroom supplies, Asian snacks, kids stuff, hats/gloves, gift bags, etc. Price start at $1.50, and I think the max is $3. We love their bowls and plates - great quality, comparable to Ikea or CB2. They seriously have everything there. Just keep in mind that there are no returns or exchanges. My parents live on the East Coast, so when they come visit, we stop by multiple times so they can get their fill. Great stuff here! read more

My Mother, Sister, and I take a trip to the So Bay once every couple months to visit Daiso in Torrance. We love this store! But, we found out today they opened a new one in Gardena. Even better! This location is bigger and has a lot more room to push our little cart around and fill it up with lots of stuff! Forget the 99 cent stores! Go to Daiso instead!! read more

OMG! I'm so glad I found this place! My husband and I were driving down to total wine and I just happened to see this place. I was like what the heck is that place? Of course, I yelped it and I fell in love instantly! I made my husband take me as soon as he was done with his trip to total wine! There tons of cute things in this store and useful as well. The store was neat and clean! I found a bunch of bento making stuff that is way cheaper than you'd pay in Little Tokyo! I mean there was so many things that I've seen in LT that Daiso sells for way cheaper price! So if like weird, cute and cheap (price wise) Japanese stuff then come here! The only one thing that is messing from Daiso is that it needs a more food aisles! Other than that I am totally going back! read more

What's not to love about this place?? It's like Target meets Sanrio and almost everything is $1.50!!!! It's a great place for small gifts, wrapping paper, snacks, socks, and origami paper just to name a few items. It's a fun place to just browse but I'm fairly confident that you'll pick up at least $20 worth of stuff on every visit. Irresistible! read more

I visited the store in Torrance a week earlier. I think I preferred that location better. While this location is bigger, it seems the Torrance had more stuff to choose from? Perhaps I was kawaii drunk off my first ever Daiso visit and it made it so magical I couldn't concentrate? Haha. Wow! Japanese style 99 cents store. They have so many items, it will take you good couple of hours to go through the entire store.

My friend and I spent 2 1/2 hours taking our time to look at everything down every isle! This was our first time in a Daiso since we live in Las Vegas. They have quality products at such cheap prices we went overboard. I can read hiragana so I could pretty much figure out what the product was or what it was used for. My friend, on the other hand kept asking me, "what is this". I must say the Japanese have some innovative and creative things! Please, please can you bring Daiso Japan to Las Vegas!!?? read more

OMG!!! This place is awesome!!! Everything is so cute and unbelievably cheap. They used to have a Marukai that was $1.00 and that place closed up. I was so sad. But it was only to wait for something better. This place has little trinkets, household items, pet toys, etc. I could spend a few hours just going up and down each aisle. Omg how have I not checked out a Daiso Japan shop before? At first, my eyes hurt from all of the hot pink everywhere. Once I got past that, it was $1.50 knick knack heaven! Like a 99 cent store but not ghetto. Everything is so cute like all Japanese things are. Seems like you can find anything here from kitchen and bath items to gift bags and wrap, hair accessories, hand fans, flashlights, Japanese snacks, storage containers of all kinds, art supplies, cosmetics, and more. I'd say 99% of the items are $1.50 each. I was just at Mitsuwa right before stopping here and bought 2 soba trays for $5.49 when they had them for $1.50 here. A skimmer at Mitsuwa for $4.99 was only $1.50 here! I'm going to return the Mitsuwa purchases. I had a blast and will def return to Daiso. This weekend 7/28/12 is the Gardena store's grand opening. read more

Went here this morning just after they opened. Funny thing was...they didn't have any shopping carts left in the store. ??? There must have been less than 10 people shopping around with a cart. What happened to all the carts??? To Management : Please keep your store stocked with enough shopping carts. I would have purchased more if I didn't have to tote items in a basket. Daiso Japan is a nice and clean store and most items cost $1.50. The items that cost more are clearly marked with a big price sticker. The problem that I have with the store is their NO REFUND and NO EXCHANGE policy. I bought 5 items and 2 of the items were defective. I returned the 2 defective items the next day with my receipt. Anna C from Redondo Beach's review about her dad's experience returning a defective item is similar to mine except for the racist comment and the time it took to get the problem resolved. The SAME manager tested the two defective items that I was returning/exchanging. He DID NOT mention that they were made in China though. LOL. After testing the items which only took a few minutes, he let me exchange the items for something else. I will be very careful when I buy items at Daiso the next time that I shop there. I kind of like the 99 Cent Only Store better, since they give you 9 days to return or exchange items. If you are planning on using a credit card, your purchase must be $10 or more. They have a good assortment of the button batteries for calculators & other electronic devices. Daiso charges $1.50 while other stores charge a lot more for those batteries. read more
