With $1.50, how can I spent $30 - $60 every trip there? Not all the things are worth the price but 90% of them will be smart shopper choice. I tried to buy stuff that's Made in Japan there. If you just moved and need containers or storage accessories that place is heaven. read more

Love love love this place!! Even if you are not looking for anything specific, I would recommend checking this place out. If you do, take time browsing each aisle slowly, it's amazing what the Japanese culture can teach us! It's definitely a step above your average dollar store, though it does have the basic things you'd expect to find from one. Some of the gems I found in this place are: foldable containers to put your knock knacks, under the bed storage, slippers, glass containers (for food), a ton of compartments for organizing your kitchen. Friendly and clean service. But beware, no restroom! You'd have to visit its neighbor 85deg, but that's another review I'd have to write :) read more

One of my favorite Daisos! There's actually space to walk around compared to a lot of the newer Daiso openings. This was actually the first Daiso I went to back when they were in the first few weeks/month(?) of opening. Who can turn down a discount store that offers so many things you can need in daily life (school, kitchen, bath, food, beauty, etc)? Like a friend just told me, paying the extra 50 cents (vs. 99 cents store/dollar tree) to get items with a little better quality (maybe? Haven't tried everything but everything I've ever purchased works great) and cuter appearances seems like a deal to me! Sometimes you just find yourself adding things to your basket that you didn't intend to come in purchasing......... read more

Loving this place so much!!! Very affordable, very cute, colorful, great for Moms who are organize freak and also for students! Love every sections and isle! For beauty, travel, gardening, crafting, sewing, organization, kitchen, snacks, boxes, etc.... And everytime i go back theres always something new! read more

This is the nicest Daiso I've been to. They sell everything here. This location has the most selection, even better than Little Tokyo! I absolutely love coming here! I come to mainly get stationery supplies, but I end up going through the entire store and finding lots of things to pick up. I love how bright the store is. The prices are clearly marked if something is a little more expensive. This is my favorite Daiso, I always try to come here instead of the other locations. I don't like two things: the $10 minimum to charge to your credit card and the return and exchange policy. There's no returns or exchanges at all! What you get is what you get so make sure you really want everything you're buying before you head to the counter! Besides this I really love shopping here. I don't live too close to here but I make a special visit to come to this store. They have so many cool and cute things here!! read more

When you walk into this store, expect your wallet to drop at least $1.50. Most of their items are $1.50 and come from Japan's market. I wouldn't bother with the 99 cent store when looking for a touch of quality. Daiso has some cute stuff. You will find out as soon as you walk in. Good luck not spending a fortune here! 5/5 read more

Woot! It's like a Japanese version of the dollar store. Most things here are priced at $1.50 and boy do they have a lot of things at that price. Word of caution - after you find this place you are going to hate yourself for it lol. You are gonna go in thinking "oh it's only a buck fifty, so cheap" and you come out like "omg, how did I just spend fifty bucks..." It is because they have everything. From your everyday household items to electronics to clothing and to more stuff than you will need....which is the part that gets you in trouble. I just can't resist getting something I know I don't really need when it's so cheap lol. Anyways, long story short, you can find pretty much anything you need there. Highly suggest doing some back to school/work shopping or home improvement shopping there as you can get a lot of supplies on the cheap. PS: Just FYI no returns. read more

Daiso this, Daiso that...ok ok...I finally get the hype! I'd been hearing so much about Daiso the past few months. All I remember was walking in a super small Daiso in SF and walking out empty handed and not very impressed. Well...the Daiso in Gardena is impressive! HUGE! Packed full of things you'd want, things you don't want, and things you never knew existed. Hello? Japanese relaxation sticky foot pads! I almost bought it because the pads not only suck the ions out of me while I sleep at night, but it could also keep my feet warm because of the chile oil mixed in! Say what? I loved how the store is kept super neat and orderly. Aisles are clearly marked and are wide enough to peruse through w/o bumping into people. I kind of wish that they had a bigger food section. I'd love to see more Japanese snacks. Everything is $1.50 unless otherwise marked. Even the items that were over $1.50 were a pretty good bargain price. The cashiers we encountered were kind of slow. But customers would literally dump baskets full of knick knacks on the counter for them to scan. No one walks out of there with just a few items. It is a mob mentality because of the cheap prices! read more

This is Japanese $1.50 store. Products are actually quite descent in quality. Do note that all merchandise are non-refundable. I think you have $10 minimum for credit card but if you run your card as debit (for debit card users), there's no minimum! I usually get my stationary here (highlighters, flashcards, rulers, etc.). They have pretty extensive cleaning supply section. They have one of those magic sponge that works really great even without using cleaning sprays! Well, besides these things, you can get variety of things like kitchen stuff, make up, hair stuff, gardening, wrapping papers/boxes, etc. The ONLY thing that really sucks about this place is parking. It has gotten significantly worse after 85 degree cafe opened literally next door. I see people at McDonalds (in the same shopping center) literally guarding few spots allotted to their restaurant by the drive-thru :0 read more

I've never been here before but I've heard great things about it especially from my boyfriend who bought quite a bit in his last visit. I was really excited to come and I didn't regret it. Once I stepped inside I new I was going to need a basket. They have such cute little things and one thing that was such a score to find there was this pouch that was about 11' x 6" and it looked exactly like the bag I wanted from American Apparel which was about $30 and I got a better looking one from Daiso for $1.50 and I was extremely happy! They have such a variety of things from stationary to food. It was amazing! I found some snacks there that reminded me of Japan and of course I had to get them. I spent a good $35 and I don't regret any of it! I actually wish I got more since I don't come to LA as often as I would like, but I'm definitely coming back! read more

About 5 years or something ago, this is the first Daiso my friend introduced me too. Suffice it to say, it was more like a Japanese/American 99cent store rather than a daiso. It left a bad taste in my mouth and kind of ruined me from coming back to this location for a while. Saturday, decided to stop by cause my friend and I were in the area and omgosh!! This Daiso is not only an upgrade from when I came the first time, but it's 100000% even better than the from further next to the Mitsuya. The selection of items were better, the store was more spacious, more cashiers on the registers and shelves were fully stocked. I saw some things here I'd never seen at any other daiso or items that had discontinued were sold her. Anyway, just a better experience overall. I kind of hope they close the other location and just expand this one. I will definitely keep coming to this one read more

One of bigger Daiso I've been too, I like that there is a wide selection of items to choose from. They have seasonal items in the front and they have you usual day to day items the rest of the store. They carry Japanese snacks and candies as well. They have some make up and skin care items like sheet mask etc. it's mostly for home items that you might need like plastic bento boxes, dishes, baking items, plastic bins, cleaning items. They don't give refunds I'm not sure if they offer returns and exchange. Parking in this branch sucks, even though they have a big parking space they also share it with other retailers. It can be hard to find parking especially on the weekends. read more

I'm glad that there is a big Daiso near I work. There are a lot of small Daiso near my house but I don't like it that much due to over crowded and small space to get through. Also small space means not enough merchandise like this one at Gardena. I prefer to shop at bigger location and have enough space so that I don't have to worry about rude people pushing you to get through. Daiso Gardena has mostly everything and it is stocked with their merchandise. Been to several Daiso in Japan and they have a lot more stuff that they don't import to USA. One merchandise which I thought I would never see in Daiso USA was the Disney Laundry bags. I went ahead and bought couple from Daiso Japan and brought it back. About 2-3 years later, I was surprised to see the Disney Laundry bags available at Daiso USA. They are good for personal laundry use and as a gift. Can't beat the price since it's Disney brand. Pros: The quality is good for Daiso brand compare to American dollar store. Variety of selections to look at for beauty, home, office, and garden. Pretty, Modern, Vintage, Trendy Seasonal merchandise are must have Cons: Daiso is known for 100yen - $1.00 but Daiso USA is $1.50 Everything should be 100yen like Daiso in Japan but it's not. If you look at it closely to the merchandise, some are $3.00 - $5.00. A little disappointment with there plan of have everything 100yen or $1.50. read more

Love this store Great prices Most items are $1.50 Always fun to come here and buy pens , markers and stuff for my girlfriend . Neat selection Will be back. read more

My first experience with Daiso was in Japan, it was a huge 2 story goodie bag of a store. I left with 2 bagfuls of "stuff". Daiso California is an equally mind boggling array (albeit smaller) of interesting and fun goods all for $1.50. There are a few items here and there that are cheaper, $1.00 or $.99. After the intial shock of PINK wears off, your eyeballs will adjust to focus in on thousands of items you never knew you needed O_O It's a great deal for gift wrapping options and strange party planning items that you didn't know existed too. Cash only and no returns~ read more

You can find anything and everything at Daiso and I love it! Especially because nearly everything in the store is $1.50, what a deal! I have bought so many things varying from clothing, to car accessories, to personal products, to pens and kitchen items from here! One of my favorite things that I have bought from Daiso are their sponges. They're so cute! Some have faces, some are shaped as animals/other things. etc. I use it to wash my dishes and wash my body and sometimes I get sad because the animals' faces get dirty haha. It is a very cute store indeed :) read more

I came in here for the first time today and I was mindblown. Beware if you love cute girly Asian goodies like me cause you will blow your money away. Yes majority of stuff is 1.50. But wigs are 6 bucks and disney backpacks are 12 bucks. Anywho, I will come back here again. Yes, they have Japanese snacks and even drinks! Beware, if your looking for cups, mugs or a kawaii bag, it's REALLY small. Like it can pass for something convenient for a kid. read more

Daiso - My massive haul :3 - Discount Store Near Me - Gardena, California

It's a large and clean store. They have random cheap soaps for sale that are not japanese. That is not ok. If I wanted that I'd go to the dollar store. What would be the point of going to daiso. They r also very strict about food and drinks in the store. I understand that's how to keep the store clean, but c'mon. I'm shopping. If I have a drink in my hand, chill out read more

Daiso has such an eclectic grouping of items available for $1.50 unless otherwise specified. If you live near one chances are you've probably gone there for a lot of random reasons they have kitchen stuff that includes cute bento or lunch packaging, more ceramic formal Japanese dinnerware, and a lot of things you just don't find in American stores because it has some sort of cute Japanese influence that is supposed to somehow make your life better. I have bought a huge variety of things from microfiber cleaning cloths to teacups to Japanese packaged snacks but most recently went to pick up some cheap dog toys. There's a decent selection there about 10 different toys for dogs, and each one of them is really cheap so even if your pup destroys it in five minutes flat you don't feel bad about spending 1.50. Daiso is fun to browse for everyone, and I think especially fun for Americans that are unfamiliar with asian or Japanese culture. read more

This was the second Daiso Japan store I shopped at after the first one I went to on Pioneer Boulevard. The store is larger than the Pioneer Boulevard store with a bigger section for snacks and more aisles to go through. Again, I took forever going up and down the same aisles over and over again making sure I didn't miss out on putting something else cute in my basket. Sadly, this second store didn't have the $1.50 musubi maker that I was looking for. I actually liked this store better than the other two stores I visited as it was much bigger and didn't seem as cramped. read more

Love this store! I love Japanese Yen Stores. I spent about 2 hours in this store, going up and down the aisles. They have a lot of stuff from office supplies to candy. None of the items cost more then $1.50 Great place to buy anything and whatever cutsey stuff you want. read more

I love, love, love this store! I was introduced to Daiso a few years ago by my sister and I've been addicted ever since. If you want cool things that you won't see other people with, this is the place to go. It's a very neat store! I bought most of my BabyShower prizes from here (shh) and no one could have had a clue. Everything I bought looked like it cost a lot more than $1.50! Not everything is $1.50, but some items are $3 or $5. I find really nice baskets to use as gift baskets here for about $3 and other stores easily sell these same baskets for ten dollars or more. They have really cute Japanese kitchen supplies as well and I love their school section. This is definitely a place to check out!! read more

Always fun to come here and just browse. I like their ceramics, beautiful bowls and plates and a good value. I get 50 packs of the simple wooden chopsticks here for cooking in pots and pans that would otherwise be damaged by metal on metal. Loved their reusable shopping bags with the blue, red and white fish pattern, they should bring them back. I have been using them for all my grocery shopping, they're sturdy and unbreakable and I would buy another 10 to keep in the car, very convenient. Cute things in the stationary department. One always finds some useful things here even though, as in other dollar stores, there also is a lot of junk. The difference here is that everything is Japanese, so it's kind of like travelling without ever leaving L.A. read more

I would shop at Daiso Japan over the 99 cent store any day! What I love about the place: - About 90% of the store items are $1.50, unless noted with a pretty large sticker with the price, but I don't think I've noticed anything higher than $10 here. - A highly organized store with staffers on practically every single asile restocking or reorganizing the merchandises. - Did I mention how PINK the store is? It is easily 10x better than Marukai 98 (the store before Daiso Japan) and Tokyo which sold mostly novelty items. Daiso Japan sells a lot more useful things to use/have in the house! But their food market was much smaller than what it was like with Marukai 98. Basically less food, more stuff from Japan. Definitely coming back much more often. read more

I can't tell you how much my family loves this place! Almost everything here is $1.50 (very few exceptions) and the quality of the merchandise far exceeds what you would find at a typical "dollar store". Although this is a Japanese-run store, I love the diversity of its customers. You'll find so much shopping here... stationery, household goods, snacks and drinks, garden, party supplies, cosmetics, etc. I just wish I lived closer! One tip: there is a $10 minimum for credit cards, but no minimum for debit cards. read more

Daiso - Da-Daisooooo-So So! - Discount Store Near Me - Gardena, California

I love the store because they carry so many different things and almost everything is $1.50 unless a different price is attached. The best thing I've purchased here are the knives. Unbelievably they are the best knives I've ever purchased anywhere. I buy the ones with the black handles. They are sharp and I've been using one of my knives for over a year now. I rarely sharpen them and they're still good. I've also purchased stainless steel bowls, strainers, vegetable peeler's. Considering the price, they're all really good! Sometimes they offer other items that are listed for sometimes $3 or even $5 too. The gift bags and gift wrap section is cool. They have different patterns, colors, and even stickers and actual gift boxes. They offer some imported Japanese chips and drinks. They also have various Asian candy too. There's always something to buy, so go when you at least have a couple of hours to look around! The location on Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance is a good one also. The location on Western and Carson Street is a little smaller but each store has at least a few items that the other doesn't have. read more

I LOVE this place! You can find anything and everything here. 90% of the items here are $1.50 the rest will be priced as marked. Nothing more that $10. I highly recommend if you're looking for quality items at a budget price. You won't be disappointed read more

Like the other 2 Daiso store I've went, this Daiso is more or less the same. Store is big and clean. Things are organized. Battery operated erasers, cute pens, mini-tape dispensers, phone cases and decorations, beauty supplies. The list goes on and on. This was the first time I have ever been to Daiso. The reason why we actually stopped here was because my friend who was with me mentioned that they have Daiso in Thailand but the items are 60 Baht which is roughly around $2 here in the states. So she wanted to check it out and decided to stop by and check it out also. Anywho, once we stepped in the store, my mouth just dropped! I was amazed how many items they had for $1.50! The selection, the knick knacks and just everything! I was overwhelmed and at the same time I wanted to take my time to look through each and every aisle since it's not like I come here often and it's kinda far from where I live. Daiso is better than Dollar Tree and 99 cents store in my opinion. They have everything for $1.50 unless it's specified. The store is clean and the aisle are big. Their snacks selection is fairly small. Oh and keep in mind, all sales are final. So no returns, refunds or exchange. Make sure you really want the items before you do purchase them. My BF and I ended up spending about $40 here and left with the following items: dust pans gloves make up bags hooks to hand bags air freshener air freshener refillers stuff for the kitchen snacks small case for fake eyelashes more hooks to hang purses in the closet small containers boot keepers (stuff to put in your boots so that it can stand) These are just to name a few. However, Daiso is definitely worth checking out! read more
