Wow this place is worth the hype!! Everything we got was amazing Onion dip Rigatoni Corn pasta Pavlova Chocolate peanut butter ice cream I recommend all of it!
The more I think about it, the more I realize I didn't really like it that much - mainly because there's no urgency or part of me that genuinely wants to return. Maybe going shortly after a trip to Italy ruined me a little lol, but I didn't fully understand the hype. The pasta was good, just not life-changing. I've honestly had better pasta elsewhere in Chicago. The agnolotti was my favorite. I liked the balance of flavors with the ricotta filling, although I thought the roe was a little unnecessary. It could've used a different topping or supplement that complemented the dish better. The pierogies were also pretty good. They had decent flavor and were cooked well (actually al dente, which I appreciated). The sauce itself was good, but it wasn't distributed evenly, so some bites had much more flavor than others. The carbonara was just okay to me. It lacked flavor, and I wish the sauce had been thicker and more cohesive. It broke. I did appreciate that the pasta was properly cooked, but overall, I thought all of the sauces could've been seasoned better. I might come back to try some of the other dishes, but I'm not exactly rushing to make another reservation.
Daisies has been on my Chicago food bucket list for the longest. We finally decided to go to celebrate our anniversary. This had me feeling like a kid on a milk carton because I've been missing out! The service was exquisite. We were greeted and wished a happy anniversary upon checking in. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us understand what we might like based on our preferences. This spot had more seating than I anticipated and there are tables that can accommodate large groups. The aesthetic was giving industrial whimsical bookstore. They also had the jams pumping but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Now for the food: - Homemade ruffles and sour cream and onion dip: This was a must get in my opinion. - Simple green salad: I feel like I can trust that Daisies doesn't source their produce from Taylor Farms, so we felt safe ordering. Man oh man I didn't know how much I needed this in my life. The dressing and the cheese were unmatched. - Mushroom Tagliatelle: Thebomb.com. You can taste the freshness in the pasta and the ragu was so savory yet not too heavy. - Summer seasonal pasta with sweet corn, jalepenos and cheese. The pasta was stuffed and had a delectable cream sauce. It was simply perfection. -1/2 chicken: Simply put this may be the best damn chicken I've ever had in my life. To think we were almost going to skip a protein and get another pasta but this was so good. I don't think words can do it justice. We had to get dessert because we knew that their pastries get a lot of praise throughout the city and beyond. We ordered the sourdough waffle topped with peaches and pecans. In the word of Foxcito.....FathaGawd!!!! Like Steph Curry...just don't miss We will definitely be back there are so many things we want to try.
Finally got around to trying Daisies after seeing so many Reddit recommendations, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The pastas were phenomenal. They were all super unique and honestly so tasty. My favorite was definitely the beet pasta, which I never would've expected. We also came early for happy hour drinks, which was a nice bonus. Service was great, and I especially appreciated that they straight up tell you about the service charge and that it's the tip instead of trying to sneak it onto the bill at the end. I wish more restaurants did that. The restaurant itself is very cute too! Overall, I'd definitely come back.
Yes yes and yes, a million times yes! I think this is up there with my favorite Chicago restaurants. The food was AMAZING, the service was excellent (they were very sweet in helping my party understand what dish would be best for us) and the overall ambiance of the place is so chic! Will definitely be bringing guests here in the future. Also is a very cute date spot
Came for brunch because dinner reservations were all booked up. They only have the raviolo carbonara during Sunday brunch so I had to get it. It was AMAZING. The salty pancetta complimented the creamy egg yolk and cheese. My friend got the scrambled egg bruschetta with a side of bacon. He said it was the best eggs he's ever had. I tried it and I must admit the truffle oil was an incredible addition to the eggs. For drinks we both got the cold brews which were both strong and bold. Service was good. Nothing to complain about
Let me just say, I was blown away. My co-workers raved about this place and I was shocked I never heard of it. I mean, I really do try to stay up on the best restaurants in Chicago but I NEVER heard of it. When I reached out to a friend who is a popular food influencer , he never heard of it either, so we immediately made a date. My friend dropped me off at Daisies on a Tuesday evening, while he looked for a park. When I walked in, the ambience was so electric and enticing I just knew we were in for a treat. I couldn't believe how packed it was for a Tuesday, and when I was shown right to my table by the friendly hostess, I was even more impressed. When my date came in, our waitress appeared. She was beautiful, friendly and ready to show us a great time. She gave us the menu run-down, readily answered our questions and got the show on the road. For a cocktail, I ordered the Sour, in the Green, a delightful and refreshing blend of mezcal, soka, green strawberries and tarragon. My date, a beer lover, ordered the Moody Tongue pilsner and Spiteful IPA, which he loved. For apps, I was told the house-made ruffles with onion dip were a must-have but she said, unfortunately, they were out. Awww, bummer! However, she appeared moments later and said she was able to secure the VERY LAST ORDER just for us. Game? Who knows, but when that order was placed in front of us and we dove in, and were more than satisfied. Our other app were the delicious potted carrots...a puréed delight containing pickled carrots, duck fat, and gnoccho fritto. Yum! As for entrees, I ALMOST went with the duck bolognese but when she described it as an elevated Hamburger Helper, I quickly declined. I haven't made HH since...EVER, so I wasn't about to order it on a rare night out with an amazingly handsome man, so I went with the lamb sugo. And it was all that. He ordered rigatoni and let's just say it was out of this world. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Service was on-point and everything one could want in a date night. I pride myself on choosing great restaurants and that's why I rarely leave bad reviews. Daisies lived up to its hype and I can't wait to go back!
Had a reservation 6pm on a Saturday. Such a cozy space with very friendly and attentive staff. Apps: Started with the French onion dip + smoked trout roe, and cabbage w beef tongue. The potato chips the dip came with were massive, fantastic, ruffle cut slices. Dip was good, trout roe ($18) gave it that extra pop of flavor. Our favorite dish of the night was definitely the beef tongue, so tender and balanced with textures and acidity. Mains were: Pappardelle (mushroom and carrot ragu) - I liked this best out of the three pastas, pasta was very tender. Cappelletti (beef, celery root fonduta) - felt a little under al dente in the sections where it was pasta pressed against pasta. The beef filling was on the average side, a simple, braised beef. Strozzapreti (duck bolognese + parm reggiano) - pasta was cooked perfectly, but the sauce leaned salty. Our half chicken arrived once we were finishing the pastas. Juicy and tender, with the fat/skin rendered out nicely. The sauce was good, but felt the chicken itself was lacking seasoning/flavor. The remaining duck ragu came in handy for extra saltiness. Finished the meal with the terrazzo cheesecake, and gelato scoop trio (roasted vanilla, peanut butter cookie dough brownie, and frutti di bosco sorbet). Cheesecake was light and wiggly, definitely contained some gelatin and cubes of strawberry jello; not too sweet. I enjoyed the peanut butter gelato the most, was very tasty mixed with the sorbet to make a little pb and j concoction. They also gave a little slice of chocolate cake as we were there for a celebration. Overall, appetizers were a hit, with the dessert coming in second, and entrees following thereafter. Was ~$240 w the included 25% service fee between 3 people. The food feels like 3.5 stars as the food was inconsistently good across courses, but the service/ambiance pushes it to a 4. Worth a try if you can get a reservation.
We were super excited to try daisies and luckily got a reservation for Friday night. The ambience is simple yet elegant. The place was particularly loud that night. We quickly got seated and our server seemed pretty excited and helpful. We got some beer and decided to order the onion dip as our starter. It was soo tasty! Loved the ruffles chips with it. We then ordered the Pappardelle and the Rigatoni. The Pappardelle was out of this world and easily one of the tastiest pastas I have ever tried. The rigatoni was ok in my opinion, I was mainly excited to taste the lemon breadcrumbs but I couldn't taste the lemon at all. Overall a nice casual pasta place with great service. The prices were very reasonable too.
Sunday Brunch is magnificent at Daisies. Our meal consisted of lots of shareables starting with their perfectly crisp breakfast potatoes. Full of flavor, soft in the middle and sprinkled with house cheese on top. For mains - we went all pasta - the parapadella was spot cooked and the mushroom Raghu was rich and delicious. We also tried the beet raviolis which had the perfect sweetness and well rounded with the ricotta. To wrap things up we got a selection of pastries and cookies for take away. We enjoyed them immensely when we got home. Service was top notch. It was Father's Day and super busy but we were well taken care of and enjoyed the friendly service.
Great food. Excellent service, pretty humid night 78%. Wish they would've closed in the window. Wife was uncomfortable the whole time Came for our anniversary. Nice place with unique pasta and cocktails. The beet agnolotti was my favorite. The onion dip was pretty good but not amazing. The ice cream sandwich was also good but not cold enough. Was more like a think whipped cream not an ice cream. Would skip that and try maybe the crunch cake for desert. Our waters were never less than 3/4 full Place was pretty lively but not too wild. Would come back
Delicious spot when you're craving hand made pasta! We were able to snag a last minute reservation when we had friends in town and this was one of our favorite spots while they were here. The service was wonderful and everyone was so friendly! It's much bigger inside, but still cozy with the different rooms/areas! Highly recommend!
First time coming for lunch and wasn't expecting to order at the counter, but it worked out well given how busy it was. Food was still very very tasty and portions good sized. We absolutely loved the cookie and liked the flavor of our sandwiches. Both were a tiny bit salty, but one of us likes it that way. No mandatory service charge at lunch and still great service so a good choice for a nicer meal. My only disappointment was no pasta available for the lunch menu. We will be back.
Daisies was great! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Service was outstanding. I am still dreaming of the gluten free pasta with mushroom ragout. It was herby and delicious. My daughter loved her pierogi dish with mussels. We also ordered the Fritto Misto and it was a fun appetizer. Gratuity is included automatically at 25% Didn't love the housemade grape soda but they were happy to change it out. Enjoyed the housemade hibiscus kombucha, tho. Friends brought me to Daisies for a birthday celebration dinner and I could not be more thrilled to share this experience. The service was impeccable in this restaurant and I loved the cozy dining room, with cookbooks over the pass window and floral decor. The onion dip and house made ruffles chips was elevated by an additional jar of salmon roe. We shared the gnocchi (soft and pillowy with rich chanterelle mushrooms and pancetta) as well as a delicious duck bolognese strozzapretti. The standout was an amazing pork loin. The dessert and cheese program gave a lovely round out to the menu. Daisies is cozy but popular - reservations highly encouraged and likely required, even as we visited at 8:30 on a Wednesday. read more
Have been walking by this restaurant for years even when they were up the street. Yesterday went in for my birthday dinner. Started off with the cheese curds which they put sweet potato in makes you feel healthy eating fried cheese. Ordered a rigatoni dish which was interesting and delightful. The tomato was fermented which I've never had in a pasta dish before. We also ordered a pork collar. It was tender like a steak. It arrived after our pasta dishes. I'm not a big oenophile so got a Pigeon porter beer. Ordered dessert gooey butter cake which was tremendous. Because I was celebrating my birthday they brought piece of cake with candle. Offered it to girlfriend after I blew out candle. read more
Daises is a restaurant by night but also opens up in the morning and day as a cafe. During the day they have a limited menu as well as pastries and coffee for sell. The croissant I had was very delicious and really enjoyed their coffee. A decent sized spot and a great spot to chill and work for a bit as well. Service was great and friendly I would definitely dime back here to try the dinner menu. read more
We walked in around 7:30pm on Sunday and snagged two bar seats. We ordered the rigatoni and the agnolotti, both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente! Definitely two of the most unique pasta dishes I've had: - Rigatoni: the brightness of the lemon breadcrumbs balanced the rich, spicier sauce, the nduja is very much dissolved in the sauce (9/10) - Agnolotti: a sweeter pasta sauce than I personally expected but still very good, appreciated the trout roe to balance that sweetness out (7.5/10) Portion size was solid, service was fantastic (personalized recommendations from everyone, very good w allergies), and great for a date night or a girls night out! read more

This was the restaurant I was genuinely the most excited about because everyone kept hyping it up since my arrival to Chicago 1.5 years ago. People are like "this is the best pasta I've EVER had!" And I love pasta, so say less!! When you walk in, the place feels homey but not stuck up. The servers are really nice, and we had a super leisurely 2 hour meal there! I thought they'd ask us to leave asap, but they let us take our time despite how busy it was. For apps, we tried the onion dip and the shaved Brussels sports. Onion dip was delicious - soooo flavorful and the homemade chips were just like ruffles but healthier and thicker? The shaved Brussels sprouts was NOT what I expected - I thought it'd be the typical new American dish with the teriyaki/Asian-glazed-esque sauce. Instead, this was a refreshing slightly bitter yet slightly sweet salad with pears, a nice crunch of pistachios, and rosemary. This was the perfect light dish for what was about to come! Now onto the pastas! The pappardelle is one of their most popular dishes and for good reason - this was my fav, I loved the texture of the super wide handmade noodles, and the chanterelle mushroom ragu was so flavorful. The chew of the pasta was just one of the best I've ever had!! The spaghetti alla chittara was like taking a bite into a salty lemon, in the best way possible. It was light, it was fragrant, it was a bit cheesy - giving everything it needed to give with that sungold sugo (some sort of tomato)?? I didn't love the noodle texture here, but it did remind me of an Italian udon situation. We also had the rigatoni with the nduja on the side. This was your classic tomato based pasta but super fresh, and the nduja (sausage) gave it a nice slightly spiced kick! We finished with the apple upside down cake, which comes with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream and hazelnut amaretti. This was giving quintessential fall flavors, though I did think it was a bit rich for me. Wish they had more of the ice cream to balance it out! Overall, I really enjoyed this meal!! Was it the BEST pasta I've ever had? Probably not. Was is absolutely delicious and top 3 experiences? YES! Everything was cooked al dente and to perfection, and you could tell every ingredient was so intentional. Rather than having a huge myriad of flavors, they focus on highlighting each pasta with only 3-4 additional ingredients in the sauce. read more

We tried the ravioli which was our favorite the grapes really balanced the dish out. The gnocchi was good but was very average. The mushroom pappardelle was decent. The ravioli was the unique and flavorful to us. Also tried two dessert. The gelato taste more like ice cream but was very good. We got the peanut butter cookie dough one. The gooey butter cake was a let down. The elements on the dish didn't seem to go well together. The cake itself was good. But the sauce and jello like things in it were not very good. read more
Daisies in Logan Square is the kind of restaurant that feels both stylish and grounded--a spacious room with modern design, high ceilings, and a relaxed energy that fits the neighborhood perfectly. I went in knowing one thing: this is a pasta house. What I didn't expect was just how thoughtful and vegetable-driven the whole menu would be. The menu is tight--intentionally so--but what's there is executed at a very high level. To Start * Onion Dip - Comfort food, elevated. Creamy, rich, and paired with crisp housemade chips. Familiar flavors but way more refined than your average dip. * Fritto Misto - Lightly fried vegetables, airy and delicate rather than heavy. A great way to ease into the meal without feeling weighed down. Pasta (The Main Event) * Pierogi - A creative nod to Chicago's Eastern European roots. Pillowy dumplings, likely filled with tangy cheese or potato, with a sauce that brought richness without being heavy. * Ravioli - Handmade and dramatic in flavor. Every bite felt intentional--clean fillings, silky dough, possibly accompanied by a broth or butter that let the interior shine. * Stracci - Ribbons of pasta, wide and rustic. This was the most soulful of the three--hearty, layered, and deeply satisfying. The kind of pasta that reminds you why people travel for carbs. By the end, we were far too full for dessert, which says a lot considering how tempting the sweet offerings sounded. Daisies clearly knows how to pace a meal. Final Thoughts Daisies doesn't overwhelm you with choices--it delivers focus and craftsmanship. If you're looking for heavy sauces and classic Italian red-sauce comfort, this isn't that. But if you appreciate housemade pasta where every fold, sauce, and garnish has intention, it's absolutely worth the trip. Relaxed service, cool space, exceptional pasta. Next time, I'm saving room for dessert. read more

We had a mixed experience here. The food was genuinely good, and our waitress was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the seating situation left us feeling uncomfortable. The restaurant opens at 5:00 PM, and we arrived just before our 5:00 reservation, waiting in a small line of guests. When they began seating, only about 4 couples were seated ahead of us and given how large the restaurant is, it was clear there was plenty of space available in the main dining area. When it was our turn, we were taken to a separate back dining room that we didn't even realize existed. It wasn't as nice as the front, and for about 20 minutes, we were the only ones seated back there. As people of color, that initial experience didn't sit right with us and made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. My partner eventually asked why we were being seated in the back. Our waitress was very kind, but her explanation didn't fully sit right she mentioned it would get packed and said she was also working in that section. However, by the time we finished eating, only about four tables in the back were occupied, while the front dining area was completely full. A few more parties were eventually seated back there, which did make us feel a bit better. But those first 20 minutes, when we were the only ones in the back, really set the tone for the experience and left us feeling uneasy. It's disappointing because the food and service were good, but the way the seating was handled took away from the overall experience. If the restaurant opens at 5:00 PM and we were there before opening with a reservation, we felt we should have been seated in the main dining area. We just wish we didn't feel that way walking into that and I know it's probably not intentional but just felt uneasy. Overall sweet waitress, good food :) read more

One of the best meals I've ever eaten. We split the Potted Carrots as an appetizer; one of the most unique appetizers I've ever seen and packed full of flavor. For our main course, we tried the Rigatoni and Corn Ravioli. Both were absolutely incredible, but the Rigatoni was the absolute star. The food was so decadent, hearty and flavorful. I'm already thinking about the next time I can go back. The service was incredible. I drink tons of water, and I love when my water glass is always being refilled, especially at a place so busy. The hallmark of a good restaurant! The restaurant is LOUD, so if you're with people who are hard of hearing or you prefer a quieter feel, this is not the place for you. read more
Came here on a Saturday night around 9:30-10pm and we only had to wait 10 ish minutes to be seated without a reservation. Server was nice but just customer service wasn't really there, just came in to check on us once briefly but nothing over the top. For food we ordered the potted carrots and fritto misto for apps. Mains we got were the gnocchi and rainbow trout. All the food was great! The fritto misto consist of all bartered and fried cheese curds, mushrooms, and eggplant, with a tarragon sauce. I LOVED the sauce, it went very well with all of it. The potter carrots had an interesting texture and we were a bit unsure how it was supposed to be eaten all together? We weren't the biggest fan of it but the flavors were still good. The gnocchi was pillowy soft and the mushroom was a yummy addition. The cook on the rainbow trout was perfect but I wasn't a fan of the almonds all over the top. read more

Daisies has been on my list for a while and we were finally able to stop in. I was hoping to try their pasta but they have a specific lunch menu focused on sandwiches. I also like the cafe at the front, so we ended up trying: - Sprint Onion Feta Tart - Coffee Cake - Chicken Parm - Turkey Rachel The sandwiches somehow tasted light, like the flavor was there but you didn't feel greasy or bloated. If you like savory pastries then I would highly recommend the onion tart, it was phenomenal. The coffee cake was also great, moist all the way through. I'll definitely be coming back and it also looked like they let you work from there during lunch. Most spots had an outlet and people were on their laptops. read more
Had brunch here this past Sunday. The space was inviting and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Declan was an excellent server! The espresso martinis with lemoncillo were an excellent twist. Pasta was fresh and creative. Not pictured as the oatmeal sandwich cookie from the bakery, which was a great midday snack later on . We plan on coming back our next trip to Chicago for dinner. read more
I have been wanting to come here for years and I was so excited to finally check it out!! I went here with five of my friends for our monthly supper club and we tried a ton of dishes. The pastas definitely shine through here and you can tell that they are homemade. We try to be rigatoni, parpadelle and stacci. All were incredible, but we loved the stacci the most. In terms of appetizers, we had the onion dip with homemade ruffles (incredible), smashed cucumbers, mixed green salad, frito miso and potted carrots. For dessert, we split the raspberry pretzel pudding and the blueberry doughnut. Again, all of the food is so great and fresh here, but the desserts really shine through. You can always tell when there is a pastry chef in house and these desserts are outstanding. I definitely want to come back and I understand that the 25% gratuity and service fee is a lot but when everything is this great they make it worth it. read more

Highly recommend Daisies. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, well balanced, and full of flavor. The service was also, and the space itself is simple and clean. Finally was able to try Daises and it was great. The atmosphere is very nice, clean and slightly rustic. Our waiter was very nice and explained the menu and gave some recommendations. We started with the shaved Brussels sprouts, which tasted extremely fresh. We also tried the onion toast that was very rich and decadent. For the pasta, I got the rigatoni. It was amazing, nice flavor with the perfect amount of spice. It also had breadcrumbs that added a nice crunch to it. read more
Came here for my birthday and finally got to try out the dinner menu. We had to wait a bit for our table as it was quite crowded but I'm glad we had a reservation. Our server was very helpful and kind and helped us decide what we could order that catered to my vegetarian diet. We started off with the onion dip, N/A wine, and house cola and everything was delicious. We then had the ravioli and the rigatoni. The ravioli was good but the rigatoni was really sour / salty and just not great in general. We told our server and she immediately asked us if we wanted another dish but I think we were full at that point so she ended up removing it from our bill which was appreciated. We then ended with the raspberry pudding dessert and I got a mini birthday chocolate cake that was also pretty good. All in all, we didn't love the food but we could consider coming back for just drinks/apps or dessert. read more
Daisies lived up to the hype and brought their A-team for Chicago restaurant week. Our waiter was fantastic in explaining the menu and recommending dishes to pair together and share. Flavor and cook of the food was out of this world. I can't wait to come back and try the full menu!! Food reviews: Onion dip--I'll never look at grocery store chips and dip the same way. Salty and garlicky combo was addictive to start the meal. Must order! Sweet onion toast--described like a "smash burger" by our waiter, the toast was packed with deep caramelized flavor from the onions. Sauce paired well with an acidic bite Burrata--just okay compared to the other apps. Homemade cracker had a good texture. Burrata itself could use more flavor or mostarda to bring out sweetness Strozzapreti--described as a "hamburger helper", this dish took the grocery store staple and blew it out of the water. Duck was tender and rich throughout. Pappardelle--beautiful red sauce and cooked to perfection. Very fresh and complimented the duck well Butter cake--I'll be dreaming about this. Light and airy cake was beautiful with the cream on top and crunch from garnish Dark chocolate tart--rich chocolate flavor without being too overwhelming. Crème fraiche broke up the bite nicely, almost like an Oreo! Side note: I've seen people are unhappy with the 25% automatic service charge, but they truly earned it during our visit from the kind hostess, to the attentive water service, to the fresh place settings and table wipe down between courses read more

First time dining at Daisies and it did not disappoint. You can taste the freshness and the quality shine through in every dish. We ordered the zucchini (a cold salad) , the mushroom pappardelle and the cavatelli with feta and roasted tomatoes. The pasta was fresh, a little rich but all so good. My only gripe is that in addition to a reservation deposit, you are also automatically charged a 25% gratuity! I am not one to stir the pot and start a debate, but a bit much, perhaps? read more
came in for restaurant week with 2 friends for dinner so we tried everything on the menu! overall, we all left full and enjoyed the experience all the apps were quite tasty, but small portions. the second course portion sizes were comparably larger than apps so much more to share! both the mushroom ragu and duck bolognese were savory, while the winter squash cannelloni was surprisingly sweet relying on the cheese for savory parts, still very enjoyable! the third course favs were the pork collar and celery root cake (vegetarian option) we loved the cook on the pork with the salsa verde. we also really liked the cheesiness in the celery root cake and the cook on the brussel sprouts. the chicken was cooked well, but salty in comparison to all the other bites and lacked depth in flavor especially the beans, it was mid the dark chocolate tart and butter cake were v good, but a bit too sweet while the rice pudding was good amount of sweet, but very basic service was great from every worker and we liked the change in silverware and plates for each course. one con to note would be the mandatory 25% service charge that we didn't know prior to coming read more
Tried over half the dinner menu between three people. Cocktails were all very floral. Some worked in unexpected ways, some didn't work in unexpected ways. We all agreed the raspberry pretzel punch really stood out as the best of any of the three we got. -- Onion dip - good but in retrospect probably not worth the price -- Potted carrots - the best appetizer we got; really cool gnocco fritto used as scoops for these amazing ground carrots. Super unique, delicious, this alone is worth the reservation. -- Fritto Misto - maybe the worst of the apps; we didn't even finish. just fried breaded veg. Forgettable. -- Stracci - not my favorite but not bad by any means; just so much butter sitting at the bottom of the bowl. Excellent pasta but I just remember the butter -- Rigatoni - the favorite pasta for all three of us. the nduja is amazing, bit of heat, pairs so well with a delicious fermented tomato sauce. -- Cavatelli - really grew on me the more i ate it. Again, too much butter, but the tomato conserva (which was like sundried tomatoes with a slight acidity) really cut through the rest of the dish and elevated it in a super unique way. Service was amazing throughout; very attentive server, knowledgeable, and helpful. Will definitely return for special occasions given the price, but i can't wait to have those carrots and the nduja rigatoni again. read more

This pasta is unreal. Absolutely amazing and so fresh!!! Plenty of vegetarian options. Love the cozy vibe inside and absolutely loved everything we ordered. The chips and sour cream and onion dip was soooooo good definitely worth getting! Also loved the shaved brusse sprouts salad. Do not skip on the dessert it was so delicious! I have been wanting to go to Daisies for months if not close to a year. I made a reservation for 2 and my friend ended up cancelling, but I chose to go anyways! I have to say the ladies at the host stand were very lovely. I sat at the bar as I ended up being solo and they transferred my reso deposit to my first check. The first shift ended and they added my deposit and i was able to put my own tip. The second shift started and I finished the second part of my meal with no disruptions. Service was attentive, but nothing exceptional. If anything the bar people seemed more interested in chatting with each other and forgot a few things like a plate for me to eat off and silverware twice. They were by no means bad or mean, but it was fine service. I ordered the HH dip chips and caviar add on, the HH cheese trio, the brussel sprout salad, a pasta, and the pork.The pork came out cold, but they quickly replaced it for a new warm one. I have to admit the food was just average. The food was definitely fresh and the quality was great, but the flavors lacked a lot to be desired. I was ready to be wowed and i found it pretty underwhelming. I also ordered an espresso martini. My total bill was around $160-170 My last complaint has to be the 25% service charge. What do you mean you are adding 25% to my tab for your deserving staff to receive equitable pay and benefits??? Take that up with the government LOL. call your local constituents or better yet, YOU pay your servers better so that they can afford better wages and health insurance!! I worked in the service industry for years and passing this on to patrons is honestly ridiculous. You want to charge me 25%!!!!!! because of something that is out of my control? LOL. while your intentions are nice, the person that has to bear that responsibility is not me. I wont return or recommend. read more
We had a really nice dinner at Daisies for our anniversary. We came a little early for our 5pm reservation. They weren't seating for dinner yet but the bar was open for happy hour so we had a few apps there while waiting for our table. The restaurant is beautiful and clearly very new. We tried the onion dip since everyone recommended it. While I thought it was good and really enjoyed the homemade chips, I thought it was a pretty basic onion dip. I enjoyed the Fritto Misto a lot more and really liked the tarragon aioli. I was going back and forth between using that dip and the onion dip and both were very good with the Fritto Misto. The potted carrots were also good and different and the gnocco fritto was super salty and delicious. For dinner we shared two pastas. The mushroom pappardelle was tender and very delicious. The pierogi with mussels was flavorful but not my husband's favorite. For dessert we had the toasted milk cloud cake - it was good but not something I would order again. I overall enjoyed Daisies. The food was good and the service was great. It's a solid good restaurant that everyone should try out. read more
I had high expectations as this is on Michelin guide but I was quiet disappointed with the food here. Started off ordered the grilled onion toast wuth bone marrow- the toast was complete burned on top and bottom but they layered the onion on top perhaps in hope that we wouldnt notice. The flavor of the onion was delicious, however. LEEKS from the starter was a total disappointment. The waiter described the dish as something very interesting and flavorful however the beef tongue was bland. Our fav taste from this dish came from the fried garlic. The leek was also burned completely on one side, not sure if this is a speciality to burn food. When it comes to the mains, we ordered the fai bow trout, ravioli w truffle and pappardelle. The ravioli had great flavor however it got really rough and chewy after it was cooled down. The pappardelle was so bad thag we had to return it and got another item. The trout was fine and the highlight was the almond on top. Last dish we got was the chicken and the sauce was too salty to our taste. Overall we were all very disappointed read more
I loved the shaved Brussels sprouts--they didn't even taste like Brussels sprouts normally do! The pasta was also delicious and our server was great! I also appreciated how accommodating they were of dietary restrictions--they pointed out everything that could be made vegetarian in the menu for me! However, I think the portions are too small for the price and the flavors aren't exceptional to justify the price. While I think the food is good, I just don't feel like it's worth the price. read more
Driving around doing errands with my wife, on this very nice Tuesday at 72° we started looking for a nice sandwich shop for lunch. We are right smack dab in the middle of between Logan Square, Bucktown and Wicker Park. I said to my wife " Lucky us, we have a Kabillion place to choose from"! Au Contraire! Yes, to the Kabillion restaurants. No, because most every restaurant in these areas are closed on Tuesday's? Little did we know! Now instead of our pick of the litter, we're struggling to find a place. Viola, a place called Daisies is open; we head over and walk in. Daisies is this ultra sleek, super pristine, lovely environment cafe / sandwich shop. It was rather busy with short but sweet lunch menu. I choose their Chicken Parm sandwich and my wife chooses their Chicken Caesar Wraps. We shared 1/2 and 1/2 and all I can say is "hit me with a brick" is this place making delicious food! My chicken parm was wonderful and my wife's wrap was just as good. The staff was polite and the ambiance was bright, quiet and relaxed. I will definitely come back here!!!!! read more

Daisies continues to prove why it's one of the best pasta spots in the city -- creative, seasonal, and comforting without feeling heavy. The meal started strong with crispy, golden flatbread paired with creamy ricotta. The ricotta was silky and lightly tangy, topped with olive oil, shaved cheese, herbs, and a sweet-savory jam that added depth. The bread had that perfect crunch on the outside with a slight chew inside -- simple but elevated. The pasta was the star. Wide ribbons cooked perfectly al dente, coated in a rich, slow-simmered ragu that tasted deeply savory and comforting. I've been trying to get a reservation for Daisies for literally over a year at this point. I think it's worth going if you happen to find a reservation open at a good time, but I'm not sure it's worth setting alerts etc. for. We ended up waiting for quite a bit after we checked in despite having a reservation, but our server was super welcoming and gracious. The food was good, but honestly not the best pasta I've ever had. The standout for the night was the cheese curds and fried veggies, and for a place that's known for the pasta, the best course being the app was a little disappointing. We looooved the fun drinks though!! Mushroom martini is weird but delicious. Will have to come back for their daytime bakery operation!! read more
With a botanically decorated, converted loft-style interior, Daisies is a gentle farmhouse oasis amongst the hustle and bustle nearby on Milwaukee avenue. The colors are mostly earth-tone with an emphasis on a more yellowy palette, keeping with the flowery theme of the restaurant. The servers are relaxed and comfortable, lacking some of the unnecessary pomp that can be driven by tipping culture, and the food is proudly served from partnerships with local farms. Dinner feels a bit more like sitting down at an old friend's house than it would at a more traditional restaurant. To some, the automatic 25% service charge would be unappealing, but I found the rendered experience to be actually quite pleasant. For my cocktail, I enjoyed the Fig Carré. It was lusciously smooth with an excellent mixture of bright but subtle aromatics and deeper honey and caramel flavors. For food, we started with the beet salad before moving onto the pierogi and stracci and finishing with the trout. The flavors of the beet salad were well-curated, but it was the frustrating sort of salad where you really have to work to assemble a good bite. The pierogi were astoundingly delicious. The sauce reminded me a bit of Marsala wine which, combined with the mussels and deep browning on the pierogis, yielded a layered umami profile. The stracci was also excellent, with the subtly herbed lamb offering a succulent and almost sweet profile to play against the nuttiness of the accompanying cheese. The trout was certainly vibrant, although it looked much better than it tasted. I've certainly had better cooked and better flavored trout almandine. For dessert, I sampled the pretzel cream puff, which was really exactly as you might expect -- salty and creamy. Very controversial opinion ahead. This spot is constantly on the lists of top restaurants in Chicago. I had to make a reservation a month in advance and I was truly looking forward to it. I don't know what the hype is all about. Neither pasta did it for me. The best thing we order was onion dip. I had to switch drinks with my boyfriend because I was not loving mine. We were an easy table so our waitress didn't seem to have to check in on us often. But the gentleman taking care of our dishes, glasses - he was on it, I believe his name was Edgar. He was soo attentive and checking on us every time he provided us with clean utensils. Incredibly hard working. We came on Sunday so the place was busy, and we were seated in the back area. Less lively and more intimate. On top it all, it was expensive and I walked away hungry. read more

This place absolutely lives up to the hype! Someone at work told me this was their fave restaurant so I booked 3 1/2 weeks in advance - this Friday the day finally came. Started with a green salad and the inventive potted carrots as apps. The salad was fresh and light, maybe would have preferred one or two more elements for the price, but tasty. The potted carrots were the most creative and delicious thing we have seen in a while - no notes! For dinner we had the mushroom pappardelle and the corn raviolis. As someone who is not a huge meat eater, both of these were outstanding. The ravioli was sweet so I probably couldn't eat a single dish alone, but sharing was perfect. The pappardelle was also amazing, kind of light without being too mushroomy if that makes sense. We were too full for desserts, but everything looked good. Can't wait to return! read more

We had a delicious dinner at Daisies! We started with the sour cream and onion chips and dip. I loved the huge portion size and the large and crispy chips with a flavorful dip. Next, we had the beet agnolotti which had a beautiful color. The combination of roe, cream and pasta all together was interesting to me. I liked it but I didn't love it. It also came out slightly cold/warm; I'm not sure if that was intended. We then tried the pierogis which had a delicious sauce that used beer and perfect potato filling. Yes! There is a gluten-free pasta that they can sub in for most pasta dishes! Many apps are also gluten-free and they have an amazing gluten-free cookie!

I am vegetarian and I noticed a lot of of vegetarian dishes but not so sure about vegan...- a lot of creamy sauces.
