We made our first visit last summer and still talk about how good it is! It's an hour away from us so we don't visit as often as we'd like but it's definitely worth the trip. Service is super friendly and efficient. I love that it's a little neighborhood corner ice cream shop, nothing fancy but charming with great ice cream and lots of it! So many combos and fun specialty items to choose from, including a dog menu. For dairy free people, this is what got us here in the first place. I can't eat much dairy so being able to fully indulge and have something aside from a sorbet was HEAVEN! I haven't had Superman since I was a kid so it was a real treat to experience it again. Have passed by this spot for years and never tried it but the lines are always insane so I figured it must be good! Have so far went three times. First time had a turtle brownie sundae which was phenomenal and huge!! Came in a large cup but was a little pricey $9, but I def felt I got my moneys worth a. Second time j tried their super man soft serve which was amazing and tasted identical to the hard packed ice cream flavor. Last time I went and got the Faygo rock and rye soft serve on the last day they were servicing it, it was decent and tasted just like the pop but was a little to sweet for me. Dairy whip has new regular customer! My advice is to get there when they first open, which I did the first and last time. When I went to check out the super man soft serve it was super crowded, I went through the drive through line (a definite plus) and waited around 20 minutes to get served. read more

There are 2 consistent things with Dairy Whip: 1) the ice cream will be good and 2) the staff is pleasant. Dairy Whip is a mom and pop shop with both a drive thru and walk up window. They are open daily in the afternoon into the evening. I love that they also have dairy free options for sorbet and soft svanilla ice cream made with almond milk. You can get the standard hand packed or soft serve with hand packed lemon being a household favorite. They accept cash and credit cards for payment. Opening is normally posted on Facebook for the season and the new flavors as they create them. Cones, cups or pints oh my. You will find a winner at Dairy Whip for sure. read more

I like Dairy Whip because they offer a variety of flavors. If you can name it, they have it - literally. This month they're featuring a Mt. Dew soft serve. I always get the turtle brownie sundae, or the lemon soft serve (so nostalgic it reminds me of my childhood). A lot of times the line is really, really long. So be prepared to wait. The employees are friendly and they make the orders fast. You'll order at the first window and pick up at the window to the right. My only complaint is the ice cream melts instantly. Yesterday, my daughter got a chocolate cone with sprinkles, and it was melted by the time I received my sundae; to the point that it had fallen on the ground when she licked it. read more

Average ice cream, frustrating service. We stopped by on a cool weekday night and they seemed to be doing a booming business, both the drive-thru and walk-up window had lines. It's great to see the community support a local business. Unfortunately the wait wasn't worth it. I opted for a small chocolate soft serve, it was OK. But there are so many great local ice cream places it's not enough to be "OK". The service was the most frustrating. The employees were super friendly, just criminally inefficient at their jobs. The order taker kept leaving the window which meant the order filler was idle at times, I can't imagine how they survive on a hot summer night when it's really busy. Plus the walking back and forth, they seem to keep some of the most popular product as far away from the window as possible. Lastly is the payment process, they have a Square terminal which should make tap-to-pay a breeze, but some genius installed it out of reach of the customer so the cashier wanted me to hand her my phone. I had to pull out a credit card instead. Bottom line, skip this place and go somewhere with truly tasty ice cream. read more

We drove here over 2 1/2 hours when I heard they were offering Rock &Rye ice cream this week. They did and it was Amazing! Service was fast considering how busy they stayed! My sister and I had a terrible experience at this location. We drove 30 minutes after seeing an advertisement on Facebook for the vegan superman ice cream. We waited in the drive thru for another 30 plus minutes. The first issue is at the drive thru window the worker argued with us about how paying with two separate cards takes up time as if her arguing with us didn't take time. Then the same worker brought out two blue moon ice creams not Superman. After asking for our correct order the manager came to the window and rudely asked us what the issue was. I explained to her the issue was we got the wrong order and she said there was no way we asked for Superman because it doesn't come on a regular cone. We explained that we never got offered a choice on cones, the worker stated either a cup or cone that's it. She just looked at us like we were crazy instead of offering a resolution like you expect a manager to do. We wasted over an hour today to leave with no ice cream and the manager said she couldn't give us a receipt for our refund due to a system failure. I would never recommend this place I don't care if the ice cream is good or not. I put this same comment on Facebook and they blocked my page, completely unprofessional business. Google reviews show other customers have experienced being accused of lying as well when receiving the wrong order. Another customer also stated they received poor service and no receipt. the owner has a nasty attitude and lacks problem solving skills. read more

I found this place on Yelp at the beginning of the Summer. I cannot believe this awesome place was hiding only a few miles away from my house. This is what is classified as the typical great American ice cream shop. Nothing too fancy just good old fashioned shop with several choices and varieties in which way you can get ice cream. I got a flurry which was good. Prices match any other ice cream shop I have been to.
