Yummy. I took my husband in here for ice cream. He picked out a banana split. Love that you can choose your ice creams. Our fave was the strawberry cheesecake. Giant amount of banana, this must have been a super long one. Toppings of chocolate, strawberry and caramel were tasty and just the right amount. Lots of whipped cream and three cherries (my fave). I opted for an agua fresca. Strawberry of course. I like the way they make it here. Not too sweet but just perfect. Very very strawberry. Basically drinking a much more refreshing strawberry. The large is seriously large. It took me forever to drink it, long past when we left the store. Not complaining a bit but be prepared. Super efficient staff. They got jam packed right after we sat down. So many little kids with their families. It was nice to see how happy they all were made with their treats. Stop in on your adventures.

They've one of the best mangonadas that I've tasted so far! It's $6 , made with chilli mango icecream. The service is always nice and they are helpful when asked questions on the ingredients. I'd love to try their regular ice creams and yogurts. Most.l of their items are $6. Parking is a-bit tricky since it's a street parking but when you've a chance, grab their mangonadas! It's delicious!

This place is straight fire The popsicles are really delicious. The rice flavor is excellent. Any of the melon flavors are also very well done. The mangonada is so good. They add the perfect amount of chili and the fresh fruit creates the perfect balance with the spices. The addition of the tamarind straw is a 10/10 edible garnish. My favorite thing about this place is the artwork. The hand painted mural with nods to the city of Detroit is aesthetic mastery (see attached pic). The interior color scheme is also pleasing and the sun-bleached decals lining the windows add to the overall charm.

Do not listen to any review that's short of 5-stars. Everything about La Michoacána is amazing. From the super low prices to the super friendly faces behind the counter. They have everyyyyythanggg. Popsicles, flavored waters, horchata, ice cream, sundaes, mangonadas, nachos...the list goes on & on & on. I spent $9 and was able to get 2 large popsicles, 8 mini popsicles, & hot Cheeto nachos.

After reading that this place makes its own ice cream and popsicles, I had to try it. And boy am I glad that I did! The hardest part is deciding what you want since, if you're like me, you'll probably want a little bit of everything. Guess I'll have to make a repeat visit very soon while the weather is still nice. I decided on a scoop of strawberry sorbet in a cone. It was dark red and loaded with real strawberries - delicious! And only $1.50! I also tried a bite of the pistachio ice cream which was loaded with nuts -that was also nice and creamy and very good. Last, I ordered a medium horchata (which was closer to a large) for $2 - also excellent - refreshing, cinnamony, and not too sweet. Next time I definitely want to try one (or several) of the mini 25 cent popsicles or maybe the strawberry and cream popsicle. So many options! I would definitely recommend trying this place out and don't be intimidated by the Spanish signs or low lighting.

Fresas con Crema - I won't call it healthy, but at least there are natural ingredients and it hit the spot in a hot day

Came here for some delicious paletas. I was not quite sure about the line or the ordering system but we did not have to wait long to order at the counter. The mango and the strawberry paletas were so good and they did not melt quickly, even on a very hot and humid day. We also bought fresas con crema to go and that was super refreshing. Overall, great desserts and good prices. I was surprised that this place existed in Michigan and I cannot wait to visit again.

This location has been here for years! Such a convenient place because it offers so many options that are close to home. From your regular fresh cut fruit to freshly squeezed juices and waters. All offered at a good price. Love it!

Bang for your buck- yummy ice cream and cold treats in Southwest. La Michoacana is a great stop for an ice cream cone, frozen banana or popsicle (made in house). They have a nice selection of flavors, ample seating inside, and you can sample the ice creams. The prices are also unreal. I paid $4 for two hand dipped cones! I didn't check out their food menu, but I also noticed that some people had ordered some pretty yummy looking plates of fast bite type food. Quick note: -There is a charge for using a credit/debit card, so make it easy on everyone and bring cash if you can. -Although they don't have outdoor seating, Clark park is right across the street!

This is an awesome family owned and operated business. You feel like you're in another country walking into this establishment. Mexican music is on, practically everyone inside in Latin American, words are written in Spanish and everything on the menu is something I've never seen before! I asked what they suggest I try and they said the fruit cup with mango, chili and lime. I LOVED it! It was so fresh and delicious and very refreshing for a hot summer day. My friend got the same cup but added a watermelon Popsicle with strawberry juice(you can pick two juices to put inside your cup and a Popsicle) and lime. Hers was amazing!!! And this cup only costs 4 dollars. Definitely worth every dollar. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure to help us pick something we were sure to love. They have many options to choose from like fruit bowls, cream and fruit, chips and cheese, fresh juices, house made frozen chocolate bananas, house made fruit and chocolate dipped Popsicles and much much more! All for very cheap prices. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Everyone should try this place once, you're bound to find something you like without putting a hole in your wallet.

This review is going to be somewhat hard. I'm a Wayne state grad (many years ago anyway) so when my…read morewife mentioned this place I said let's go try it. We went on a Saturday so the limited parking wasn't a problem but I'm sure that during the weekdays parking close would be a consideration. The menu has many choices so finding something you like shouldn't be hard as long as you want a potato base. Place was small with only a few tables (several carry outs while we were there eating). The food was made in a timely manner and all ingredient's that were fresh. Food also has a nice visual presentation. Food came in a plastic box so taking leftovers home was a breeze. Food had good taste and a generous portion size. OK, I'm saying all these good things, why no 5 stars? It just doesn't seem to meet that standard. Personally I thought it was a novel idea to try a jazzed up potato and it was, but going back, well I don't think I'll make the trip. If you're looking for a novel fast food meal with friendly service and fresh ingredients in a generous portion go here. If you're looking for a more sit down family type of meal go elsewhere. So you see my dilemma, there is nothing to ding this place for. It's a solid value but just isn't my cup of tea. Would I recommend this place? Sure, with the understanding of just what it is and no more. Clean fast friendly service fresh food ingredients presented well with a novel twist but I would suggest that they try putting some beans and/or chile over the potato's. Go ahead give this place a try for yourself. See if you think it's worth 5 stars.

I forgot this place was here as the bridge over Anthony Wayne drive to 3rd Street got taken out,…read moreseemingly forever and the bridge over Second was awol for the longest time, getting replaced by a new one that's trying really hard to be a landmark. All that made this area a big dead end it made no sense to venture into if you're not a Wayne State student or employee. This Sevs does some serious business. I'm guessing it does the most volume of any 7-11 in Detroit. Only the one on Jefferson between downtown and Belle Isle and the one in Cadillac Square offer any real competition and I'm guessing this college Sevs crushes em. Parking here sucks. I'm not keen to feed the meters and even if i was spaces are scant. Late night on the weekends, though, after metered hours, when I'm getting off my restaurant job grind and have a taste for some junk food this place is banging. Like crazy busy. Like I almost feel like I'm in an 80s movie or TV show where the convenience store is this happening hangout. There's more space here for hot food - pizza, wings, hot dogs, taquitos, etc - than I've ever seen at a Sevs and they keep it moving, too. The hot dogs are no doubt unhealthy but I at least feel like they haven't been rolling around on those metal cylinders for hours. The slurpee and Big Gulp stations are bigger than usual as well. And there's usually three employees on as opposed to the one or two you'd usually see. Even still the line at the checkouts gets stacked pretty deep - seven, eight or nine at times. One night I came in a bit earlier, around ten and it wasn't jumping, only a couple other patrons besides me. Late night, though, students with snack attacks are rolling deep. As you can imagine things can get pretty messy here sometimes with all that foot traffic. The employees do a reasonable job I'm sure but the customers just work even harder at tearing this place up. The trash can by the hot dog station just isn't close enough to it either. The cops are ALWAYS in here, too, even more than a regular 7-11. That night I came in earlier than usual was I think the only night I didn't see police in here and I've probably been to this Sevs at least 7 or 8 times by now. No good cheap dollar beverages here, they only stock the big Arizonas and even waters run more than a buck. They do actually have a couple functioning water fountains, though, for some reason. This 7-11 is just really extra and sometimes I'm in the mood for that and sometimes not. If you need late night convenience around here after the mighty Marcus Market closes and you don't feel like fighting the crowd here I recommend Midtown Market.
