Visited this week on a whim as I drove by running some errands. I had just taken my puppy sister to…read morethe vet and decided we both needed a treat after a stressful afternoon. So I popped by here for a mocha and a scone for me and a pup cup of whipped cream for my gal. First off, the barista was SO nice. We chatted a bit about our dogs, shared photos (I always welcome those!), and was generally just such a pleasant, welcoming person. My mocha was delicious as was the cherry and walnut scone I ordered. And Lilly LOVED her pupcup. Overall very nice visit to a very lovely shop!

The staff was so so friendly and were very patient while we took our time reading the menu lol. We ended up getting a chai latte, espresso latte, and bagel sandwiches with sausage and egg. The chai latte was really nice, so was the coffee. The sandwiches were pretty good - I felt like they were missing something like a sauce. They do come with cheese, but I'm not a huge fan of melted cheese on my sandwiches so that might have been what they were missing. Overall, this spot was really cute and there's plenty of seating if you want to enjoy the space with friends or family. (Oh! There were also free coffee grounds for garden use in the corner - had to grab a bag for our gardener friend :)

Today was my first time at any Culvers. I wanted to like it...but it was, at best, a mixed…read moreexperience. I'll start with the best part: the vanilla custard was outstanding. OUTSTANDING! Rich, perfect texture, with excellent hot fudge. The interior of the restaurant was very clean, including the floors. Everything else was, at best, mediocre. The grilled chicken wasn't even warm, despite the fact that we dined in the restaurant. This might have been because we waited almost 20 minutes for the food. The chicken was full of gristle: tough, stringy bits I couldn't chew through. The person who brought the soft serve to our table was pleasant and efficient, however several other employees were neither pleasant nor efficient. When we first walked in, the two employees at the counter were both on their phones (maybe this was why there was a huge line of people behind us). Neither greeted us, and the one who took our order did so with just a sullen "What do you want?" That person's uniform was covered in thick food spatter. Why didn't management get her a new top? While waiting for employees to get off their phones to take our order, we saw and heard several other employees gathering behind the counter to complain in loud voices about their work. All of these service issues point to a need for *much* more employee training, not to mention closer attention by store management. Would I return to Culvers? Hard to say.

It's off-season and I needed a raspberry tart to use for flavor cues for a client's launch of their new Raspberry Tart Wafer protein bar flavor. Due to a food allergy I didn't want to style the tart myself. I contacted a number of local bakeries as well as Plum Market, Whole Foods, Zingermans and more. None could accommodate my specific request. Finally, I came across sweet dreams and they were able to make me a beautiful raspberry tart to use for my images, based on the appearance, I wanted and in a timely manner. The location and store seem very nice too. And the pastry itself turned out great! Check out the images to see how pretty it was and how perfectly it worked. First to get desserts, then our wedding reception cake and now to enjoy with our kids when we are back in town visiting. Food (A) The desserts are excellent and they have a ton of options. They are sweet but use high quality products Service (A) Super friendly and fast. Value (A) Can get a ton of sweets for the whole family for around $30-$40. Not expensive and not cheap but just right. Just try them out when you are next in town. Not sure what is driving the negative reviews. I would ignore them as one offs and maybe entirely accurate The positive ones are more in line with my experiences Note - I have probably visited nearly 30 times over the last 25+ years
