I ordered my ice cream and the young lady eating the ice cream went and prepared my ice cream cone without washing her hands and no gloves. I was someone upset about this but almost let it go, but then immediately after me 5 people ordered 5 ice creams and both ladies served the ice cream with gloves on. I discreetly shared what I noticed to the young lady who previously was eating the ice cream and she looked me in the eye and said she washed her hands. I looked her in the eye and did not say anything. She then asked me with a scowl on her face if I wanted the ice cream re made. I said if it was not a problem then I would like it remade. She scowled and with her body language made sure to let me know she was not happy about making me a new ice cream. So I declined the offer. That young lady was young in age but was very experienced with hostility. It was very concerning.

I typically love Graeter's. But they don't give you two full scoops anymore at this location! I always get two scoops, and my fiancé always gets one scoop, so I have multiple samples. The amount of ice cream she gets with her one scoop is the same amount -- sometimes MORE -- as what I get with two scoops. She thinks it's funny and I get that it's kind of petty and silly, but it's also just bad business. I want what I am paying for, I mean weigh it if you have to, or train your employees more, but at least eyeball it and give me the same as a one scoop gets, times two. It's not that hard. A two-scoop order should contain roughly twice as much ice cream as a one-scoop order. I shouldn't have to order two separate single scoops just to get the amount that "two scoops" is supposed to include. The ice cream has also gone downhill. They are using WAY more chocolate than ice cream these days, which is odd, considering rising chocolate prices. I love the chocolate but the chunks are getting bigger and bigger, sometimes 2"-3" long and hard to eat.

The beginning: impressive decor (lots of color, tasteful artwork and accessories), expansive bakery display featured HUGE donuts, cinnamon rolls, and muffins, ability to accommodate our party of 9 without much of a wait. The menu appears to have lots of options for all types of eaters, including gluten free and plant based, however our server was not knowledgeable about the ingredients or preparation methods for the options, resulting in a lack of confidence about the safety of our choices. When we asked if she could check with the kitchen she said she didn't think so. Additionally, Toasted charges $1 for any changes/alterations, including substituting tofu for meat AND eggs; this results in a diner paying MORE for less food which doesn't make sense. They also charge extra for plant based milk, which even Starbucks has stopped doing. The service: not great. First another table's food was delivered to us resulting in confusion. Our party ordered two veggie sandwiches, one with no mayo and dressing for the greens on the side, the other WITH mayo AND dressing. One arrived with mayo and dressing on the side, the other without any mayo with dressed greens. An omelet ordered without meat arrived with sausage. When it was sent back it was remade with bacon instead. The third time was okay, other than still having one piece of bacon on top. That said, I would NOT pay $15 again for that particular veggie sandwich (or $4 for coffee). Overall, I love brunch, and I expect brunch to love me back. Toasted has a long way to go to meet my expectations.
