Nice little DQ! Food was hot and tasty - had chicken strips and cheese bites. Both were good. The fries and toast were a bit soggy/limp so didn't eat those. Ended with Blizzards and they were good. Would pick this stop again on our next trip. Staff was all very friendly too!! Things that would've gotten a five star review: better fries and toast, tables wiped off and not quite so cold inside. read more

This Dairy Queen location is clean and modern. The layout is a tad unusual, but it functions well. The staff when I was there went above the call of duty to take care of not only me but other customers as well. The service was prompt and accurate. When you walk into a place and the staff are laughing, smiling, joking with customers and make you feel really appreciated for being there, it earns an extra star. I tried the beef taco salad and a hot fudge sundae. Not ideal food for my upcoming half marathon, but quite tasty! The establishment was clean and well maintained. read more

It's really a challenge for me to leave a negative review, however, integrity forces me to be honest. We really like DQ, which makes this tough. I can at least START with positive. POSITIVE: We ordered in drive-thru, and the young lady taking our order was friendly. Sadly, that where positive ends. ISSUES: - AFTER ordering, we waited in line 'forever and a day' to get our food. If you are traveling (like us) and on a time schedule, you will want to avoid this DQ. - My wife ordered a cheeseburger ('hunger buster'?) , no tomato. She GOT a burger, NO cheese, WITH tomato. She even clarified it when ordering. - Tater 'gems' (tots) were severely undercooked, being very light, barely warm, and heavily tasting of grease/oil used to cook them. Even ketchup couldn't improve them. - My 'patty melt' came on soggy Texas toast, with Mayo, tomato and burnt/overdone 'grilled' red onion. No cheese - which makes me wonder what the 'melt' part of the name is. Beef patty was thin, dried out and chewy. - I held out hope that the drink would be different, however, our Fanta Orange has an odd chemical flavor and tasted more of lemon than orange. I had just drank one yesterday on our trip, so I know what it should taste like. - Finally, our order taker told us the combo "comes with ice cream" and we selected the DQ sandwich - WHICH we did not realize was NOT given to us until we were miles down the road. Sadly, there was not one thing about our food that could be edified. Our order taker was friendly though. I have never given a ONE star rating, however, due to poor food quality, incorrect preparation, time waiting, an forgetting items, I cannot do otherwise. We were a party of 7 and traveling home from a long car trip. I don't normally like DQ, but everyone else wanted to stop here. I was glad I did. The place was clean, the food was good and we even got an unexpected senior discount! The young lady at the counter was very helpful and got our large order correct! Way to go DQ! read more

Went there, Got 4 blizzards and fries and 1 Drink. My fries tasted like they were DAYS old. My blizzards were NOT made the right way. Then I watched the girl up at the front and she sounds pretty mean. . Honestly DQ I thought you were better then this. And the ice cream don't taste the same as any other ice cream I've had from DQ. Tasted like straight wiped cream‍. And everyone at the Front needs braces. The bathroom stalls don't lock and I had to have my sister to hold it for me. The soap burns my hands. and the toilet don't flush. And their is not Trash cans. Worst experience ever. If you're looking to get what you ordered DON'T stop here! I ordered 2 kids cones , 1 mini animal cookie blizzard and 1 hot fudge Sunday. I sat at the window for 35 minutes waiting for ice cream and prior to that I sat behind ONE car for 15 minutes after I had already ordered. The little guy working the window had apologized several times for the girl that was supposed to make our order hadn't even started yet. He jumped back there and got us one of our cones. There were workers in the back having conversations, unto with I saw the girl that I assume was supposed to be the one making our order being in those conversations . I assume this because she was the only girl I saw through the window . So another 10 minutes goes by he comes and apologizes again, still no ice cream. Another 10 minutes goes by, the people in the car behind me COME OUT OF THEIR CAR. Okay, usually I'd say that's dramatic but , really ... it was that long we were sitting there. So another 10 minutes goes by the window guy hands me 2 mini blizzards and tells me he's still waiting on the kids cone. I get the blizzard and it's a Oreo with cheese cake pieces in it . That's not even what I ordered. I don't even think that's on the menu. Another 5 minutes goes by and here he comes with the cone. My fiancé wanted to go back in and get it fixed because the whole reason we stopped was because I wanted the animal cookie blizzard that I had said way earlier in the day I wanted at some point today. We love Dairy Queen, but don't have the opportunity to enjoy it very often. So, when I saw this beautiful, new store, I decided to stop there for a quick lunch for my family, on our way home from Arkansas. The wait was a bit excessive, probably 25 minutes from order to receiving it. Because we waited so long, I didn't make a fuss about receiving a mini blizzard, instead of the small I ordered; at least my children got their smalls. As we got back on the road, we discovered that we had no straws, napkins, or utensils for my husband's salad. As a side note, my husband actually went in to use the restroom, while we were in line, and noted that there were no patrons inside of the establishment, so the several missteps had no excuse. read more

We were waiting 30 minutes to get to the drive through window and then another 7 minutes once we got to the window to receive the order. They had to ask what my order was again several minutes after already being at the window. Then they gave me the wrong food and insisted that I "just take it". He gave me 2 blizzards that were not the ones i ordered. There was a lot of bickering and arguing going on among employees which I believe contributed to the failure of customer service. The amount of staff members that were present seemed to be sufficient. There were at least 5 employees within sight of the drive thru window. Most of the staff are friendly. They do mess up orders about a forth of the time. Food is just okay. They keep the inside decently clean.

We stopped at this DQ on a trip. The restaurant was not clean, and obviously anything that broke, stayed that way. They were out of fries, Coke, and lids for ice cream. The employees communicated with one another by screaming. The food was okay, but not good. The only positive thing I can say, is that the employees were friendly with the customers. read more

Awful service and awful food. The inside was filled with smoke so thick that it burned our eyes and lungs. We also waited for over 15 minutes for a peanut buster Parfait and a small sundae (our entire order). There was hardly anybody in the place so the wait was exorbitant. When they finally came out, the sundae was ROCK HARD! It was premade from who knows how long ago, and frozen so hard we couldn't scoop anything out with a spoon. The peanut buster parfait was made "fresh" but the ice cream was rock hard too. Definitely not what you're supposed to get when you go to DQ. We will never go back. read more

Ok I'm all for small business but when you have waited 35 min. For a burger fries and a drink I have a problem with that. 5 employees in the kitchen having NO idea what to do. A manager that has no idea how to train or run a restaurant. All I can say is if your the owner of this location hire a good manager and train your staff they are costing you money and your loosing big time. My wife and I stopped there on 6/11/17 for dinner and ice cream. As soon as we walked in, we both noticed about 50 flies flying around the front counter. We started looking around, and saw the drive thru window wide open w/nobody there, and every fly in northeast Texas coming in for free food and ice cream. She grabbed it and gave it the correct people who were waiting at the counter. The New Boston Dairy Queen is one of the worst I have ever been in. I have gone several times thinking I might have caught it on a bad day. I have gone different times of the day. It never matters. The drink machine stays broke. Most of the staff are rude at best. It takes over 30 minutes to get 3 tacos when the only other 2 customers already have their food. If you look in the back, they have teenage boys back there clowning and flirting with the girls who are supposed to be working there around instead of cooking. They serve cold food and half the time, your order is not right. It's terrible. read more

I've always gone out of my way to stop at this Dairy Queen when traveling through but over the past year to 18 months this location has gone down fast. The drink machine was broken when I was there on Thanksgiving and when I stopped yesterday traveling for Christmas it was still broken. The eating area is always dirty now and the service has gotten terrible. There are countless DQ's along I30 but I would highly recommend you skip this one. I won't be back!! read more

I've gone through the Dairy Queen Drive in New Boston TX, on a few occasions just for the soft serve cones. I've always requested it be put in a cup since I'm driving and want to eat it when I get home (I don't want it dripping all over the car). Today I requested one and I was told I would have to pay for the cup,I said no problem. The server walked away then came back and said the manager said no they can't even do that. The server said it's was pretty stupid (not to just let me either have or buy a cup) and I agreed, said fine, took the cone, and drove off. The further I drove the angrier I got, so I pulled over to the side of the road, looked up their number, callled, spoke to the manager and went over the incident. Her response was "well I can't give out cups to everyone who wants one for their cones because I wouldn't know how to charge the cup" REALLY!! I said the cone cost me $2.36 it should come with one like at most Dairy Queen drive throughs. Her response "well what do you want me to do about it now!" Told her it's to late to do anything now but what you need to do is stop being so pettty about a cup (which probably cost $0.16 and which I offered to pay for) go back to managerial school and brush up on your customer service skills.
