Everything came out super fast and tasted fresh. You order at the counter when you walk in, and if you're dining in, they bring your food out to you. Super easy and efficient. It does get crowded though. They also had a little market where they sell ice cream, pie, jerky's, snacks. There were a lot of people in line to order when we got there, and we were worried it would take a long time, but the orders were coming out pretty rapidly and we didn't wait too long. They do have some coloring books and a puzzle to keep little kids entertained while waiting, which was much appreciated. They also have a small farm shop in the next room with various items for sale. My grandson's Mushroom Smash was significantly smaller than ours - almost like a mini-burger - but he said it was also hot, favorable and delicious. Both the Smashtots and Smashfries truly justified the term, "loaded", being covered in bacon and almost swimming in delicious melted cheese (not the typical Cheez-Wiz dip). They have a unique selection of fountain drinks (Dragon Juice, etc.) which were not quite as good as they sounded, so I wound up sticking to the standard soda. The cost is not exorbitant but Smashburger is not cheap. Their burgers cost $10-$14, but the amount of food you get makes it feel worth the price. There was a big group of people (maybe 10-12) in there when we arrived that was eating up a lot of the attention of the one waiter. Also, we had a long wait for food because they actually ran out of steak that was prepped and so they had to prep more and grill it up for the burrito. My friend got the OG burrito which he thought was good, but was a little soggy from the juice from the chicken. They had a lot of customers for lunch and were busy serving them at tables and the bar area. The decor was well kept and spotless. You can tell they take really good care of the business. After a few minutes lookimg over the menu, we were ready to order. I selected the Pork Belly Cuban sandwich which came with their homemade chips. It was a really good lunch. Both the pork belly and sliced ham were cooked very well and plenty. I forgot what sauce they included (I believe it was chimichurri) really elevated the flavor in my opinion. And there was enough chips as a side which were crunchy and full. Sophia ordered a chili dog which she enjoyed. 1631 had us full for lunch. We'll be sure to stop by the next time we're in town. I've been going to this place for a few years, even though I don't live in Hampton. I also used to…read moreown a restaurant so I know how the systems is supposed to work. Sadly, have noticed a steadily progressing deterioration in both food and service. I can live with menu changes...all restaurants do it eventually. But after the last change, the food is steadily gone downhill. Greasy, unappetizing bad presentation, etc. This last weekend's visit will be my last. I understand it was busy because of a concert, but to sit at a table and have a waitress come by three times and tell us "I need more time" while serving other tables that came in and were seated after us is unacceptable. I know this because we changed tables to get a better seat and watched as the former table was served water, beer, and food orders. Ended up totally ignoring her and going to the bar to get food and drinks. Had an issue with a beer that was supposed to be a refill and was apparently filled from the wrong tap. Bartender would not acknowledge the error and I ended up just walking out never to come back again. You've lost a former good customer.
