Every dish I tried felt carefully prepared, with flavors that were balanced and satisfying. The salads were crisp and vibrant, and the entrees were hearty without being heavy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed meal. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions about the menu and provide recommendations. Overall, Farmer's Table delivers consistently excellent food and a welcoming dining experience. It's a place I'll gladly return to and recommend to anyone looking for a fresh, quality meal.

In good weather their outdoor patio looks like a great place to sit down and enjoy your All American burgers, fries and shakes. In colder seasons their indoor facilities are countrified and comfortable for those purists who choose to eat on premises to have their food right off the grill or deep fryer when they are at the peak of flavor. Apparently, their ice cream and soft serve are also noteworthy. I did takeout, and thought something was lost in the time it took to get home. The cheeseburger was still hot, juicy and delicious, but the fries had lost their crispness and were over salted. Similarly, my vanilla soft serve had partially melted and separated into a sweet cool slurry and a still composed core that had much less of the expected taste. Definitely eat right there to maintain maximum enjoyment. Service was friendly and welcoming with beautiful smiles all around. Four Farm to Table Stars, but be sure to eat right there for the full experience.

They have a pretty extensive menu for a burger joint, with nine Valhallas (stuffed burgers), almost 2 dozen signature sandwiches (think patty melts), several regular burgers, hotdogs, and several sides including onion rings (they were out today), tots, several iterations of fries, and nachos. I ordered the Jana - a Valhalla stuffed with Swiss and Muenster cheeses and mushrooms, topped with a fried egg and "Viking Sauce," a sort of chili or meat sauce that seems to be made from turkey. It's huge- I practically had to unhinge my jaw like the Midgard Serpent to bite it! This is a $15 burger and it is well worth it. Understand that when they say "stuffed burger," it's basically two burgers with the stuffing squashed between them on a nice, big bun. I may not need to eat again today. My Bride got the Frigga sandwich - a beef patty with bacon, caramelized onion, Gouda cheese and grilled pineapple tidbits. At $11.50, it's reasonably priced, and must have been good- she wolfed it down like it was Tyr's hand. We opted for combos so we both got tater tots crispy enough to do ASMR videos with and drinks- they have both fountain and bottled drinks available. We had one of each. With Newport News' exorbitant meals tax, lunch came to $46 before tip. I'm not even mad about it- it was worth every penny. An excellent meal with some great customer service. I'm not likely to make the hour drive just to eat here, but I will certainly be back anytime I'm in town already and need to slay my hunger Viking style!

It has a modern diner type of vibe to it. Over the years the food and service here has been good. I come here when I want a hoagie and fries. As I walked in, I was greeted by the waitress and immediately seated myself. The menu was readily available in a shelf on the wall next to my table. As soon as I sat down, the waitress was ready to take my order. I had a craving for a sandwich. I ordered a large cold corned beef hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, mustard and mayo. I added a side of fries also. The beef is put on top of the toppings so the hoagie at first glance looks like its missing toppings. (See picture) Unsweet tea and water were my drinks. As I waited for my food I watched college basketball on the television screen in the back of the room. Eventually, the food arrived within ten minutes. The fries were hot and the hoagie was fresh. The hoagie and fries were so good I ordered and ate another hoagie. In addition to this the waitress ensured I had plenty to drink. At the end of the meal, my craving was satisfied. I was happy and full. I will be back definitely.

When they opened up here in the Peninsula a few years ago, you know I was pretty excited. I've ordered from here a few times since and for the most part felt satisfied. Let's see about this visit. After picking up Sophia's dinner from another location, I headed here via drive-thru. The line was a little long (it was a Friday night after all), but did go quick. The staff was on point with ordering and picking up at the window. No matter if it's light or heavy with traffic, they get the job done just right. My meal was the Box combo with Coke Zero for the drink. Even though some of the coating came off the chicken fingers, I was pretty full at the end of the day. Raising Cane's tends to be a favorite of mine and last night continued that streak. You know I'll stop by the next time I'm in the area.

Clearly have a buttermilk soak of some kind and great seasoning. Filled my craving and I wanted more. They also reheated well in the oven, so I was able to use leftovers to make chicken and waffles for Sunday brunch. On the not so lovely - both the honey mustard and the BBQ sauce that came with them were HORRIBLE. It was like taking a masterfully cooked filet and slathering ketchup on it instead of a nice mushroom or butter sauce. I also picked up the sweet potato fries, and although the portion was huge, they were all just mush - not crispy on the outside at all. Bleck. Since my previous review, it's also important to note that the prices are SUPER way more expensive now. So I took it down one star for those aspects.

Let's do a review!!!…read more It's been a while since my last visit to Burger Theory, so while in the area and having a taste for a burger, I thought I would give them a visit. Now again, Burger Theory is inside the Omini or Holiday Inn (I can't recall which) Hotel in Newport News. The place has a serious chill vibe to it. It's a sports bar / casual dining and okay for the kids. There's a full bar, plenty of TVs with live sporting events on, plenty of seating indoors, and nice patio seating. It was a little on the chilly side, so you may want to have a light jacket ready. The menu includes hamburger glory (hence the name), appetizers, and some serious drinks. Table service, clean bathrooms ( which is a good indicator of how the kitchen may look), and the decor scream hotel dining. I noticed a steak option on the menu; thinking outside the box, I got that instead - I found out it was not a big seller, but I went with it anyway. The steak was not the best; it made me sick, but Our excellent waitress, Kelly, took it back and let me order something else. In the end, she took off 20% of the price. So they aim to please the customer. The wife had a traditional Breakfast Burger highlighting the breakfast theme--fresh sweet potato fries and onion rings are available, and dill pickle comes with every platter. Please read what's on the burgers; there may be something you don't like or have questions about- they will gladly serve it on the side, eliminate it, or give you extra if you like. Now, they have a variety of chef-crafted burgers, or you can build your own. Burgers are made with ground beef, brisket, or steak cut as a choice. The build-your-own burger option has plenty of options, and I recommend this. Side options are French fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings slaw, and grilled veggies - all served fresh and hot. They reserve the salt, but plenty of condiments are at your table. I didn't notice if they have vegan options, for I am a meat and potatoes man. Ultimately, we paid $54 without a tip, so I added $20 for our exceptional waitress, Kelly, and their overall customer service. There is a full bar and spacious seating, and it is just a great place to watch a sporting event. My numbers are service 10/10, food 8/10, cleanliness 7/10, and 10/10 for the sports bar vibe. It's definitely a great place to visit if you're there and worth a planned visit. I'll be back!! Happy Yelping!!

The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly, making suggestions since it was our first time there. I got the 2 piece mixed chicken with mac and cheese as my side with their homemade strawberry lemonade. Hubby got their slider and tender meal with fries. His meal had the option to pick the spice level and he went with medium. The range goes from mild to atomic. My 2 piece was actually 3 pieces, seasoned to perfection, juicy and hot out of the grease. It was so good! Hubby's was just as delicious with a nice kick to it. His chicken on the slider and the tender had a red spicy dry rub. The fries were good, the Mac was ok but I would try something else next time. We also tried their special sauce which added to the flavor of the chicken. They had a decent selection of cake slices for dessert as well but we didn't get any. Overall we would definitely be back, I'm just glad we don't live that close because it could easily become a weekly stop.
