Chicken over Rice. Used the wrong rice, chicken had no flavor!

My 3rd time going there. Order messed up again. They are using regular white rice instead of Basmati rice For the chicken over rice. Chicken had no flavor. Also got a chopped cheese and it was decent. They are always unapologetic in their responses on why the order got messed up.

We came here right after spending a super fun, exhausting day with friends at Busch Gardens, and…read morehonestly, this place was the perfect wrap-up! The decor gives off major classic American vibes. Plus, right now they are celebrating the U.S. 250th anniversary, so the whole place is decked out in festive, classy decorations. The floral arrangements and styling are beautifully done--so full of character and style. Here are my honest thoughts on the food and experience: The Mains (10/10): We ordered two entrees, and both were incredible. The meat was so tender, juicy, and incredibly easy to chew. The flavors were totally on point. Wings & Fries: The chicken wings were great, and the fries were fried to a perfect golden crisp! My only tiny critique as a foodie is that the fries didn't seem to be fresh-cut from scratch. But they still tasted good! Sauce Heaven: I love that they have a huge variety of sauces right on the table. It gives you so many great options to customize your flavor combinations! The Atmosphere & Service: The waitstaff here are incredibly enthusiastic and energetic! Their warm hospitality completely made up for the fact that the AC was blasting a little too cold inside. One tiny tip for photo takers: The lighting at the tables is a bit on the dimmer side, so it's a little hard to capture the true, mouth-watering color of the grilled food on camera. But trust me, the taste more than makes up for it! It's such a wonderful, comfortable spot to chat, laugh, and catch up with friends. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for great food and a festive vibe!

I got the platter with brisket, burnt ends, beans and collards. Those burnt ends were delicious! The brisket wasn't bad, but definitely needed sauce. Not to worry tho, bc there are several (with descriptions) at the table. My beans were good, but cold and the collards were ok. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was clean with a normal amount of noise. TVs were there, but I don't remember if the volume was up. There were also steps going in the restaurant and going down into the dining area...FYI

Several times when we've been to Country Grill, Yorktown, managers have stopped by the table to…read morecheck how things were, tonight that didn't happen. If they had they would have heard about missing beer menus, dirty/greasy salt grinders, dead flies littering the window sills next to the tables, slow and disinterested service and a seeming lack of interest of the staff in anything but chatting with each other. County Grill in Yorktown has always been one of our go-to restaurants but unfortunately is fell very short today. We got in early, before the afternoon rush, around 3:45 pm. We were seated quickly in a booth along the front windows and our waitress came over and got us started with cornbread muffins and took our drink order. I did ask for the paper beer list that they always have due to their extensive taps but none were available, a first for me. Neither our waitress or the hostess could explain why they didn't have the normal beer list. I ordered a beer and when asked if I also wanted water like my wife, I said yes. My wife's water showed up almost immediately, mine must have been forgotten but thankfully my beer showed up a short time later. We ordered our dinner, a brisket platter with coleslaw and baked beans and my wife ordered pulled pork. We were one of only two tables in the entire main dining room when we ordered and throughout our meal but waited a surprisingly long time for our food to arrive. When it did arrive, the food looked, smelled and tasted great. The brisket I received was from the tail end of the brisket and was very thin compared to slices from the other end of the brisket I've usually received. I still received the same exact number of smaller slices I usually receive from the bigger end. Not all brisket slices are created equal and today's fell short. My wife used the salt grinder on the table and it was dirty and greasy to the point she had to excuse herself to go wash her hands. While she was gone I noticed the collection of dead flies on the window sill along our booth. Things were just dirty, makes you wonder about cleanliness in areas you can't see as a customer. Although there were a lot of staff in the kitchen and in front of the kitchen none seemed interested in anything but chatting with each other. The exception to that would be our waitress who was very interested in talking to the one other occupied table in the dining room. We had finished dinner and were waiting to pay our bill and get a to-go box for some of the coleslaw. Our waitress was deeply involved in a conversation with the other table and we waited an extended period of time. The multitude of other servers in front of the kitchen had no interest in breaking free to see if we needed anything. Finally our waitress made it back over to our table with the electronic payment machine out, handed it off to me and headed off to find a to-go container, even that seemed to take longer than it should have. Maybe Q-Daddy's is worth a try, maybe they still care and want to prove they want your business and not just ride on prior reputation.

She was incredibly kind and attentive from the moment we were there, making sure we had everything we needed. But what really touched us was when she brought the guys freshly baked cookies beautifully plated on a tray with "Thank you for your service" written on it. It was such a simple gesture, but it genuinely meant so much. Wearing a police uniform in public doesn't always bring kindness or appreciation, so to have someone go out of her way to make them feel welcomed and appreciated was incredibly touching. Bri didn't have to do any of that, and that's exactly what made it so special. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine appreciation absolutely made our lunch. Mission BBQ is already known for supporting our military and first responders, but Bri truly embodied that today. Thank you, Bri, for being such a kind human and for making three officers feel appreciated. I know they won't forget it

The side of fries was expensive and there weren't many fries included. They weren't anything special, and seemed old and that they'd been sitting under a warmer. The chicken and baby back ribs were both tender but lacked flavor. The half chicken was pretty small. The ribs were fine but needed sauce. The greens were good. I'm rating a 3 because the meat was tender even though it lacked flavor and because the greens were good. Overall, I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't go back.

The food arrived promptly, was prepared perfectly, and everything we tried was delicious. Pulease, tell me why everyone is giving this restaurant 5-star reviews…read more I was recently looking for a restaurant with BBQ beef ribs and came across 'Smoke'. I looked at the reviews and knew I had to give it a try. When we arrived, my wife and I were quickly seated by the Host. And then we waited. And waited. About 10 min later, I told the Host that we had not seen a waitress yet. He was apologetic and promised to find them for us. A few minutes later, the Waiter showed up and took our orders. I fully planned to order the beef ribs, but the cost of $38 was so far outside the norm that I just couldn't do it. (They actually have a sampler platter that costs $66!!) I ended up ordering the half BBQ chicken, BBQ beans and potato salad. My wife ordered the pulled pork platter, sweet potato fries and Mac & Cheese. Both orders came out quickly, but the first thing I noticed about my dinner was that I was having to 'saw' my chicken to eat it. Most BBQ chicken I have ordered at other restaurants is tender to falling apart. But this one definitely fought back, and though the flavor was not bad, I kept having to add the table-side BBQ sauce (which was good) to flavor it. The beans were nothing special- they were BBQ beans. Frankly the best part of my order was the potato salad which was quite good - a bit more mayonnaisey than normal potato salad, but I found that I actually liked that aspect of it. A couple of times during the meal, the waiter stopped by to see if we needed anything which was good to see. My wife said her pulled pork was okay but also needed supplemental BBQ sauce. She said the Mac and cheese was good, but that the sweet potato fries were overcooked. She ended up not eating them which is very unusual for her. Towards the end of the meal, I ran out of tea and started looking for the waiter. When he did show up, I asked for a refill. He disappeared for an interminable amount of time and then finally returned with our bill. I was still sitting there with an unfinished meal and an empty glass, and still had to remind him that I still needed a refill, and had been waiting for it for a while. He admitted that he had forgotten it, but then actually sat down next to us, seeming to have problems entering our bill in their handheld 'point of sale' device. I asked him again if he could get my drink first. He finally handed me the device to pay the bill and dashed off. He was gone a while again, with me still waiting on my drink. I finally just gave up finishing the meal without something to wash it down with. The Waiter finally came back with a 'tea to go' for me. Though I had planned to order desert for the two of us, we just paid the bill and left, checking off one more restaurant that does not understand that they are in the food AND customer service business. So again, someone tell me why everyone is giving this restaurant 5-stars.

I found this place in yelp and wanted to give it a try. It's in a small strip mall and at first we were afraid they weren't there anymore because there isn't a marquee sign above the restaurant but there is a large smoker truck that looks like it's used for catering that helped us find it. The parking lot was full which blocked the signage on the doors/windows. The inside has a few small tables and a counter to the right to order from with the kitchen behind. There was a few chairs across from the counter to wait for to go orders. You choose your own table after ordering. The owner was personable and chatting an older gentleman that had been there awhile. We later realized he was the owner when he came out to see how our food was. The ribs fell off the bone and the baked beans had ground beef and some peppers. They were delicious and had such good flavor. Rolls were served with the meals. The portions were large and we took home our leftovers. I was a little surprised that our food was served in to go containers even though we asked to dine in. You pick up your own plasticware at the counter where you pick up your order. While it's not a typical sit down place with table service or bar drinks, the food was really good and hot. We'll definitely go again. Also love that it's veteran owned and he's present and cares about the service provided. It was also evident he cares about his staff as we overheard them discussing one of the kids preparing for high school graduation.
