the menu of a fast food restaurant
    Janice M.

This is my second time here. Haven't been in more than 10 years. I remembered they are known for their burgers & fries. So both my mom & cousin never been. Complimentary shelled peanuts at the door as you walk in. Placed order. Everything is individually priced. I believe some condiments are a extra charge. Mom got a regular hamburger with ketchup & mustard. Cousin got a hot dog. I got the double cheeseburger with fried onions. I ordered a large fry for all to share. Every one agreed they enjoyed their food. This would have been a five star review but I have to take off a star for 2 issues that made a difference to me. First, no table service although you can dine in. Second, they fries weren't pipping hot. They were lukewarm. I will definitely go back.

The smell of Five Guys makes me hungry every time! Yes, I know ... what can a plant base water eat here, right? Wrong! Other places where when ordering a non meat dish will still cook your food in the same fatty oils as the rest of the menu; or they'll put your meal on the same properties as the rest of the menu ... but not Five Guys! Everything here's cook with peanut oil! Peanut oil is a mild-tasting vegetable oil derived from peanuts. The oil has a strong peanut flavor and aroma. It is often used in American, Chinese, South Asian and Southeast Asian cuisine, both for general cooking, and in the case of roasted oil, for added flavor. This oil is high in monounsaturated "good" fat, and low in saturated "bad" fat, which helps prevent heart disease and lower cholesterol.(NOTE: Any oil consumed clogs arteries, and can increase the risk for heart disease.) So the Vegan "Plant" Sandwich is my go to !!! It's so delicious! It's like Subway but on a burger bun; with a side of fries and peanuts. Yum yumm good!

Way overpriced. Plain hamburger was almost $11. The burger were small and bland. Fries were way to salty and greasy.

The food was greasy and fries where cold. We has to clean our own table because the lobby looked like they hadn't cleaned it all day. They had more than enough help if they weren't all talking to each other. This place is WAY over priced, it was over $31 for two hand burgers and one fry plus drinks. We won't be going back.

(Latest review..) *THANKS to the crew who were working at night shift on Easter! Wow..that was the best burger ever that I had in this location! It was very juicy! And you guys were super nice and friendly!! Thank you again ________________________________ (After over 5 times of visiting..) my stars were Taste good as always but just little slow. Always had to wait long time to get my food AND most importantly this location doesn't give a lot of fries like the other Five Guys locations.

I rank my decisions to eat somewhere again as: 1 star - if someone else buys it I won't eat it, I would rather go hungry. 2 star - if I'm hungry, no other options are open and someone buys it - I would consider eating it 3 star - I'm ok with eating it as long as someone else pays 4 star - I will eat again and pay for it and be a semi-regular customer 5 star - I will travel for good food and pay good money and be back on a regular basis and maybe even pay for yours just so we can go

Well, it's been five years since my last review...and this place apparently didn't impress enough…read morefor me to revisit, despite being quite close to my workplace. I'm just not terribly crazy about the "order at the counter" style of restaurant if I'm going out to eat. But, I belong to a group that decided to meet here for an event, so I ended up giving it another shot. The interior is still cute, and the concept is nice. I like that you can get mini/micro pours of things. I feel like it used to be a set amount, but now you can literally just pour a taste to see if you like it with a micro charge and then add more or move on if you don't like it. That was really useful since I'm not much of a beer drinker - it took me a while to find one I could sip on. I ordered the sliders - now what I thought was cool about this (and again, I don't remember it being this way the last time I was there, but I also ordered whole burgers last time) is that you could customize your sliders. So I was able to order three different sliders which was awesome. I tried the bourbon, the brie, and the shrooms. Of the trio, the bourbon was my favorite and the other two were sort of a toss up second place. They were cooked correctly and hit the spot. Overall, I'd say it was a notch up from my last visit and I'd be willing to try it again if I'm in the mood for some mini burgers!

I had a craving for GOOD chicken fingers - and while I wouldn't have thought a place called Burger…read moreTheory would deliver, they are really quite good. Clearly have a buttermilk soak of some kind and great seasoning. Filled my craving and I wanted more. They also reheated well in the oven, so I was able to use leftovers to make chicken and waffles for Sunday brunch. On the not so lovely - both the honey mustard and the BBQ sauce that came with them were HORRIBLE. It was like taking a masterfully cooked filet and slathering ketchup on it instead of a nice mushroom or butter sauce. I also picked up the sweet potato fries, and although the portion was huge, they were all just mush - not crispy on the outside at all. Bleck. Since my previous review, it's also important to note that the prices are SUPER way more expensive now. So I took it down one star for those aspects.

Let's do a review!!!…read more It's been a while since my last visit to Burger Theory, so while in the area and having a taste for a burger, I thought I would give them a visit. Now again, Burger Theory is inside the Omini or Holiday Inn (I can't recall which) Hotel in Newport News. The place has a serious chill vibe to it. It's a sports bar / casual dining and okay for the kids. There's a full bar, plenty of TVs with live sporting events on, plenty of seating indoors, and nice patio seating. It was a little on the chilly side, so you may want to have a light jacket ready. The menu includes hamburger glory (hence the name), appetizers, and some serious drinks. Table service, clean bathrooms ( which is a good indicator of how the kitchen may look), and the decor scream hotel dining. I noticed a steak option on the menu; thinking outside the box, I got that instead - I found out it was not a big seller, but I went with it anyway. The steak was not the best; it made me sick, but Our excellent waitress, Kelly, took it back and let me order something else. In the end, she took off 20% of the price. So they aim to please the customer. The wife had a traditional Breakfast Burger highlighting the breakfast theme--fresh sweet potato fries and onion rings are available, and dill pickle comes with every platter. Please read what's on the burgers; there may be something you don't like or have questions about- they will gladly serve it on the side, eliminate it, or give you extra if you like. Now, they have a variety of chef-crafted burgers, or you can build your own. Burgers are made with ground beef, brisket, or steak cut as a choice. The build-your-own burger option has plenty of options, and I recommend this. Side options are French fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings slaw, and grilled veggies - all served fresh and hot. They reserve the salt, but plenty of condiments are at your table. I didn't notice if they have vegan options, for I am a meat and potatoes man. Ultimately, we paid $54 without a tip, so I added $20 for our exceptional waitress, Kelly, and their overall customer service. There is a full bar and spacious seating, and it is just a great place to watch a sporting event. My numbers are service 10/10, food 8/10, cleanliness 7/10, and 10/10 for the sports bar vibe. It's definitely a great place to visit if you're there and worth a planned visit. I'll be back!! Happy Yelping!!

They have a pretty extensive menu for a burger joint, with nine Valhallas (stuffed burgers), almost 2 dozen signature sandwiches (think patty melts), several regular burgers, hotdogs, and several sides including onion rings (they were out today), tots, several iterations of fries, and nachos. I ordered the Jana - a Valhalla stuffed with Swiss and Muenster cheeses and mushrooms, topped with a fried egg and "Viking Sauce," a sort of chili or meat sauce that seems to be made from turkey. It's huge- I practically had to unhinge my jaw like the Midgard Serpent to bite it! This is a $15 burger and it is well worth it. Understand that when they say "stuffed burger," it's basically two burgers with the stuffing squashed between them on a nice, big bun. I may not need to eat again today. My Bride got the Frigga sandwich - a beef patty with bacon, caramelized onion, Gouda cheese and grilled pineapple tidbits. At $11.50, it's reasonably priced, and must have been good- she wolfed it down like it was Tyr's hand. We opted for combos so we both got tater tots crispy enough to do ASMR videos with and drinks- they have both fountain and bottled drinks available. We had one of each. With Newport News' exorbitant meals tax, lunch came to $46 before tip. I'm not even mad about it- it was worth every penny. An excellent meal with some great customer service. I'm not likely to make the hour drive just to eat here, but I will certainly be back anytime I'm in town already and need to slay my hunger Viking style!
