I was promptly greeted, grabbed a seat at the bar and soon had a drink in front of me (full bar). Several things looked good both on the menu and in the kitchen (which is open for viewing). I ordered a cheesesteak (when in Rome) and an order of cheese curds. Both came well prepared and hot. The curds were great. Definitely enough in an order for two. The sandwich was packed and tasted fantastic. Leaving, I definitely was full. Would I go back? Definitely! I've already told some friends and the experience and have encouraged them to check it out.

That said, there were a few things that made the visit less enjoyable. The hightop chairs had no backs and there wasn't enough coat hooks to put my winter coat on. My coat ended up sitting and sliding in my lap. The wait for food was longer than expected. All this to say, after sitting for a while waiting on our meal, it became pretty uncomfortable. I ordered a Turkey Avocado Bacon Panini which was delicious! It came with the option of homemade garlic fries or sweet potato fries. I choose the sweet potatoes fries. They came with a sugar coating which brought a sweet and savoryness to the meal! Overall, the food was good, but not enough to outweigh the inconvenience. I probably wouldn't return for dinner, but I'd consider stopping in for a quick drink to enjoy the atmosphere.

So much so, I said "where do you get your haircut". To be honest, I forget how the next part goes but at some point he says "I have scissors in the back if you want me to give you a haircut". He tells me about this guy who gives good haircuts. He tells me to go to the nail salon. This is my first day in Green Bay so I do not understand his directions AT ALL. It's perfectly crisp crust, generous toppings, and that ideal balance of sauce and cheese. Every bite tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. We had a pepperoni pizza with hand tossed crust, and a mac and cheese pizza with a thin crust! Both were fantastic. We also had the balsamic chicken and arugula flatbread; another winner! What a hidden gem, a half mile off the highway, but you may need your GPS to navigate to it. Being from New England originally, I was delighted to find what they carried main lobster rolls for a limited time, so I had to order one of those and then we ordered a spicy Italian sub and split both for variety. Both sandwiches were superb, and the lobster rolls were significantly less expensive than the small handful of places that you can find them here in Northeast Wisconsin. The place was fairly empty because we got there well after lunch hour, but we were surprised to not see anyone else in there because this place is far better than most other options, including, but not limited to the corporate franchise options like subway, Jimmy John's, firehouse, subs, etc. Nothing beats Local small business owned restaurants like this! The staff was very friendly, and although the place was empty, they were processing a bunch of phone orders and we've watched a bunch of people come through for pick ups. Our sandwiches were prepared within five minutes, and they were absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this place and plan to go back next time we're off the Door Peninsula and down in that Green Bay area around lunch.

There were toppings missing from my burger and not placed on the side, as requested. Culver's doesn't make mistakes like this. Everything about this experience was bad. Do not go here.
