Surprisingly busy for a 9:30PM on a Friday evening. Plenty of parking out front and walked in to order. There was constantly at least 3-4 people in line at this time but the orders were coming out quick. We ordered a mini of their signature Oreo Blizzard and an Oreo Reese's Blizzard. Love the new addition of the Oreo Reese's! You get the best of both worlds in one Blizzard. The treats were great and consistent with other locations. Given how busy they were, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the food was coming out. The employees were quite efficient considering how many customers were in line with various orders. Very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. When I walked in, none of the staff greeted me or acknowledged me at all. The overall vibe was bleak--employees looked disengaged and unhappy, which immediately set a negative tone. After ordering a cone, the worker placed it directly on a visibly dirty counter instead of handing it to me. That's unsanitary and unacceptable for food service. When I asked for a refund because of this, they refused, even though the issue was caused by their handling. On top of that, there was an uncomfortable situation happening in the store where a man was arguing with a mother and her child after she told him to stop talking to her kid. The interaction was tense and inappropriate, and the staff did absolutely nothing to intervene or de-escalate the situation. They just stood there and ignored it. Between the lack of basic customer service, poor food handling hygiene, refusal to refund, and complete inaction during a tense interaction in the store, this was not a place that felt welcoming, professional, or safe. The staff was friendly, but there was only one person working and he was swamped. It's a little bit pricey, but I always enjoy all the desserts. There's not too many Dairy Queen's floating out there anymore so this was a welcome change. I like to come here for a good treat and it centrally located in downtown Chula Vista with plenty of parking. Service was very disappointing. Came in and wasn't greeted, considering me and some friends were the only ones in there along with one other customer. After finishing up with the other customer we still were not greeted or spoken to at all even after waiting in front of the register. After we had gotten our order I found a hair in my ice cream after confronting the worker she didn't apologize or say anything just took the cup threw it away, and went to remake it. My friend then asked if she had added the cookie dough he payed extra for in his blizzard then which she made a face grabbed the cup, threw it away and went to remake it. Shame on the owner of this establishment, money over customers apparently. Only having one worker on a busy Saturday is just being an ahole to their employees and worrying about the profits instead of giving somebody a job and making customers happy with faster service. Get over yourself whoever owns this establishment and hire 2 people to work at a minimum on busy days. How can DQ be a 2? Location location location . This is a strip mall, mall menu store. Great for a quick Blizzard on a hot day and that is about it. The menu is extremely small with ice cream being the real feature here. Super close to the boarder, even closer to the train station and the homeless are everywhere. Drove 15 min there today 4/10/25 at around 7:30 just because my kid wanted ice cream from this particular place--we have 3 by our house (Cold Stone, BK and Hansel's) but we didn't mind going the extra miles, for a change. All had leftover whatever and crumbs, seemed like they hadn't clean the floor either. The windows and entrance also need some cleaning! I have been going to this dairy queen for ages and today I ordered my regular which is a salted caramel truffle blizzard. Right off the bat I knew it was wrong but I tasted it just to make sure and sure enough it was not a salted caramel truffle. I have had it a hundred times before and this was not it. When I told the employee that it was not what I ordered he said that it was and that was it. I tried to tell him it was wrong and he said no that it was correct and that was it. Came here because we had a free blizzard until we got to the register. The lady said they don't take that offer. It's buy one get one free, so we ended up paying like $4.57 or something like that. The cashier said the system doesn't accept them. The employee got up from the floor took our order. She never washed her hands and made our banana split. We tried to eat our banana split but were disgusted even more when we smelt the spoon. The spoon had a weird smell as well. The employee continued to clean. There were 2 more customers that came in within a 5 minute window. Needless to say the employee never washed her hands. Okay so to start, I am only taking a star off because of location. It is definitely in one of the more run down and rather filthy sides of town.. Interesting crowd all around this area and plenty of homeless people. However, even with all of this, it does have some nicer shops like Starbucks right across from it. So maybe it balances out. We saw a review that mentioned going during daylight because of this, and I will definitely say that I am glad we did. I would not want to be there after dark. We even made sure to leave by dusk. Now, with that out of the way..! The store was actually clean, well lit, and the staff was very friendly and sweet. We both got blizzards which were mixed perfectly, definitely a lot of the filler treats, they were not skimpy at all! Every bite has loads of delicious treats mixed in. Yes I'm a fan of Dairy Queen. Not many open these days around San Diego. This is just the half version of a real Dairy Queen. They only serve the dessert section here and offer hot dogs here. Small location in Chula Vista. So many frozen treats to choose from. They have ready made Ice cream cakes, cheese cakes, and pies in the freezer. I mainly go here for the blizzards. They have many flavors, but I usually go with the cookie dough. They are so thick and creamy. Plus they do not skimp in the cookie dough. They usually have some new promotion to try. They currently have some treats that are Jurassic park themed. The place is small with a few seats inside. They do have some tables outside. The place is always clean inside. I notice they tend to hire younger employees out of high school, so their customer service skills are still developing or almost lacking any. They appear to just not want to be their. With that in mind, this is an okay place to try. The location is close to the trolley tracks, and is in a mini shopping area. This place area is swarming with shoppers going to Food 4 Less, and cars with Baja Mexico plates. Depends when and what time you go, parking can be a zoo. The service here has always been good. I walk in, I order, pay, wait for them to make my blizzard, and leave. Nothing good or bad, just average. This location does have a variety of items, however they do not have many Blizzard options or mixing items. (candy, chocolate, cookies, brownies, syrup, sprinkles, etc.) The DQ at the shopping centers have more options. This location only has the basics, so if it isn't one of their top blizzards or the blizzard of the month, they don't have it. I ordered the peanut butter cookie dough smash this last time I was here, and it was good. The ice cream used had to of been cookie dough, because there were a lot of cookie dough pieces. It maybe had 3 pieces of peanut butter cookie, and that's it. Had there of been more peanut butter pieces, it would have been a top blizzard for me.
