There was constantly at least 3-4 people in line at this time but the orders were coming out quick. We ordered a mini of their signature Oreo Blizzard and an Oreo Reese's Blizzard. Love the new addition of the Oreo Reese's! You get the best of both worlds in one Blizzard. The treats were great and consistent with other locations. Given how busy they were, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the food was coming out. The employees were quite efficient considering how many customers were in line with various orders. Very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. When I walked in, none of the staff greeted me or acknowledged me at all. The overall vibe was bleak--employees looked disengaged and unhappy, which immediately set a negative tone. After ordering a cone, the worker placed it directly on a visibly dirty counter instead of handing it to me. That's unsanitary and unacceptable for food service. When I asked for a refund because of this, they refused, even though the issue was caused by their handling. On top of that, there was an uncomfortable situation happening in the store where a man was arguing with a mother and her child after she told him to stop talking to her kid. The interaction was tense and inappropriate, and the staff did absolutely nothing to intervene or de-escalate the situation. They just stood there and ignored it. Between the lack of basic customer service, poor food handling hygiene, refusal to refund, and complete inaction during a tense interaction in the store, this was not a place that felt welcoming, professional, or safe. Only having one worker on a busy Saturday is just being an ahole to their employees and worrying about the profits instead of giving somebody a job and making customers happy with faster service. How can DQ be a 2? Location location location . This is a strip mall, mall menu store. Great for a quick Blizzard on a hot day and that is about it. The menu is extremely small with ice cream being the real feature here. Super close to the boarder, even closer to the train station and the homeless are everywhere. I have been going to this dairy queen for ages and today I ordered my regular which is a salted caramel truffle blizzard. Right off the bat I knew it was wrong but I tasted it just to make sure and sure enough it was not a salted caramel truffle. I have had it a hundred times before and this was not it. Yes I'm a fan of Dairy Queen. Not many open these days around San Diego. This is just the half version of a real Dairy Queen. They only serve the dessert section here and offer hot dogs here. Small location in Chula Vista. So many frozen treats to choose from. They have ready made Ice cream cakes, cheese cakes, and pies in the freezer. I mainly go here for the blizzards. They have many flavors, but I usually go with the cookie dough. They are so thick and creamy. Plus they do not skimp in the cookie dough. They usually have some new promotion to try. They currently have some treats that are Jurassic park themed. The place is small with a few seats inside. They do have some tables outside. The place is always clean inside. I notice they tend to hire younger employees out of high school, so their customer service skills are still developing or almost lacking any. They appear to just not want to be their. Okay so to start, I am only taking a star off because of location. It is definitely in one of the more run down and rather filthy sides of town..
