Large Gyudon Beef Bowl®

Food was sooo well-cooked from all the times I have been there. The service was incredible; Phenomenal in communication when Ordering, the place was not too loud which i enjoyed the calm and quiet place. The music was not loud but perfect volume compared to other restaurants ive been too. I woll definitely go back! Today is my Birthday and my parents invited me and I had a great time here!

Yoshinoya is yoshinoya. I enjoyed it when I was younger. I tried it again and it's still the same good recipe. I guess the service here is hit and miss? The service provided to me was great. Very helpful and very friendly. I ordered the spicy habanero chicken and the gyudon. Both were very good. The chicken was very nicely grilled with a nice char to make it a bit crispy. Hopefully, everyone gets the same service and quality of food that I received!

Great customer service, helpful and friendly staff. The team provided an excellent service and is conveniently located. 100%

XL Combo: gyudon beef and teriyaki chicken

I stopped by Yoshinoya late one night for dinner. I have nostalgic memories of eating their tasty beef and teriyaki chicken bowls with red pepper and pickled ginger as a teen. Prices have gone up. $16 with tax for an XL combo of gyudon beef and teriyaki chicken with veggies and white rice. The portion was fair and flavor was what I remembered. The ordering process is smooth and it took about 10 mins to get my food. Parking was surprisingly tight in the lot, shared with other eateries, at 930pm at night.

I visited Yoshinoya Japanese Kitchen in Chula Vista, CA on Friday, 1/24/25, around 12:30 PM. I decided to order the Combo XL Bowl with Teriyaki Ribeye Steak, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken, White Rice & Steamed Vegetables. The flavor of the meats was underwhelming. I had to add a bunch of teriyaki sauce and soy sauce to enhance the taste. The steamed vegetables and rice were good and straightforward. I also got the Clam Chowder, which was decent. The service was a tad slow, but at least friendly. The price point of the food was doable. Overall, Yoshinoya's food was tolerable enough to eat. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but could potentially have another meal if I'm in the area.

Large Beef Bowl with brown rice and extra onions

Restaurant is very clean and the food taste just as great as it did when I visited my first Yoshinoya 20 years ago

Did not have the correct amount of proteins and very sloppy.

Today Friday Nov,3rd at 12:00pm. I usually enjoy coming here, but I've had a very disappointing experience on more than one occasion with a male cashier.Today I explained that I was new to using the app and had ordered beef and chicken, and I asked if my order could be corrected. Instead of helping me, the cashier argued with me and was dismissive this kind of unfriendliness makes customers feel unwelcome. Then I had asked him if I was able to get a little container of green onions and with an attitude he said it was 65cents wich I think it's unreasonable I would always get them for free as well as the beef juice . When I got home my combo bowls did not have the right amount of proteins it barely had any and they were sloppy. I hope management addresses this so others won't have the same experience because I'd like to continue coming here.

The original garbage is all I can say. Frozen vegetables and lame rice. Even hot sauce did not save it.
Carlos Q.

The food was horrible. The beer had an off taste. Maybe been siting to long. I really don't know why I went here. I guess I missed the ones back in Japan. I should have known. Service was lacking could not understand the server when I got my food the sauce looked as if it was tossed in the bag. It was all over the Togo box. Over all sucked. Highly disappointed and tell you all do not go here.

Chicken Bowl with Drink

Stopped off for lunch at this Yoshinoya on Wednesday afternoon. Placed an app order but stay in the restaurant for the meal. Place looked clean and not busy at all. There was only a male worker doing both the drive thru and front register. I asked for my order, which was ready, but it was missing my drink. I asked the guy for my drink and he snapped back inquiring if I had actually ordered a drink. I showed him the receipt and he looked at it twice before giving me a cup. Food looked okay. I guess it's been such a long time but the portion has gotten so small. A bowl use to fill me up but today it left me still feeling hungry. Although, the food taste the same as I remember, it's not worth the price anymore.

Classic Yoshinoya combo - teriyaki chicken, beef, and flan. Good meal, but next time, I'm taking it to-go for a better view.

Does the beef bowl taste like the Japanese beef bowl and is there different option to customize your beef bowl?

The beef bowl does taste like the Japanese Beef Bowl. You can make some slight customizations to your bowl like extra juice, extra onions or no onions. You can also make it spicy with our crushed red pepper or sriracha sauce.

This place named itself "sushi bar," but it also says it's an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant?…read moreThat feels like an identity crisis lol. I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.

I got a couple rolls to go as well as some edamame. All serviceable, nothing remarkable but an…read moreinexpensive option for some decent sushi! Fun decor in this place! Hmm... I'm honestly a little conflicted about this place…read more I called ahead and ordered the pork belly ramen with extra pork belly, but when I got there I still ended up waiting about 20 minutes. After getting a little impatient, I asked if my order was ready and suddenly it was brought out right away, which felt a bit off. To be fair, they did seem pretty busy, but I had placed my order 25 minutes in advance and only ordered one item, so I was expecting a smoother pickup. Though I didn't eat there, the inside was nice with tons of seating. As for the food, I wasn't blown away. The ramen had potential, but it fell a little flat for me. There wasn't much broth, the flavor was pretty mild, and the pork belly actually tasted more like chicken. It was also grilled, which wasn't really my preference for ramen. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one that stood out either. I might come back to give their sushi a try and see if that changes my mind.

I will say their selections outside of sushi are totes good. The udon, and soba are great. The rice bowls and sukiyaki are good too. Definitely don't skip on the non-sushi items. Pork Katsudon is one of the best around town. We usually eat in, but occasionally will take out. Fast service, always a spot. This place is consistent, and up there with our most visited spots locally. (Somehow no pictures!!!)

It's alright I guess. At least within IB, you don't exactly have many options. I got a dragon roll,…read moreand it was normal? The shrimp is kinda meh, but otherwise there's nothing specific to complain about (well okay, there's lots of things I could complain about, but nothing too major) The portion of pickled ginger is a bit bigger. Like with other joints, I'm curious as to what they have other than sushi. This place does have quite a lot of other options as well, including bentos, ramen, etc. I seem to recall having the bentos here years ago and thought it was not bad, so I decided to try their ramen. Americans do seem very confused about types of ramen as tonkotsu ramen is almost always listed separately. Most likely, we discovered that this phrase sells as Americans want that meaty broth. Miso, shoyu, and shio describe the source of seasoning, the "tare," while tonkotsu is a form of "dashi," the broth umami. So probably your most common ramen is a tonkotsu miso; they're not mutually exclusive. As a result, it's more common for Japanese restaurants to list your options for "tare," without listing the broth because it's assumed that the base is tonkotsu no matter what you pick. Your actual contrast to tonkotsu would be options like chicken broth or niboshi. Anyways, I got a spicy tonkotsu ramen, and....I'm not sure if this can really be called tonkotsu even. Ironically, the broth has almost no meat flavor, but the seasoning is pretty good. It's definitely not under-salted, although I don't think the flavor has much depth and the consistency is a tad thin. Plus, the pork in it was actually big, fat, and juicy. I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe a little bit too fatty even. But I still loved it. On the other hand, no menma, no kombu, and not enough green things. It does have a decent amount of bean sprouts. I guess there's no kamaboko either, but in my experience, the presence of surimi is inconsistent, and it's more ubiquitous in American-Japanese ramen anyways. Both the seasoning and noodles are kinda Chinese instead of Japanese. I already pointed out that the broth doesn't taste like tonkotsu, but the noodles are also way too thin. I mean, you can technically have thin ramen noodles, but even the texture doesn't seem right to me. There's also just a lot of broth and not much noodle imho. Some of that isn't surprising as I don't think there's anyone Japanese here; I can hear them speaking Cantonese in the back. Finally, they provided three shrimp with my bowl of ramen for some reason. I think this would be more common with udon or soba; it's rather unusual for ramen. Also, those shrimp would always be bigger and crispy. I'm pretty sure these are the same as the ones in the sushi rolls. The sushi rolls hide their taste and texture. But laid out like this, you can see that these are pretty subpar, small and soft, a very sad imitation of shrimp tempura. Three stars seems fair.
