Fair pricing Food came out quick. This wouldn't be my go-to Japanese spot but it works if you need a quick bite. Very convenient location in the mall, there aren't many other options. Service was fast and attentive, they even took my tray for me Restaurant is clean and decorated with cute oriental styling [this review was made in connection with a Toast promotion, Tokyo Grill did not ask me to write this review] read more

This is my go-to place for lunch on Monday. I am a regular because there are no other restaurants across or next to it

Happened to come across Tokyo Grill when out on a rapid search for food and tea during an archery competition in Chula Vista. The beef teriyaki bowl hit the spot with lots of protein, veggies, and quality rice. Probably should have tried the spam musubi too as it was reasonably priced at 2.99. Maybe next time. read more

Food was good with lots of flavor their menu is simple but you got good choices to pick from. I ate outside this was on a Friday around 1:00pm. It was nice and clean, quite great shade area with a small breeze. read more

This is typical 90's food court mall food. Nothing too much to rave about, nor nothing too much to rant about. The teriyaki beef plate was plentiful enough, with the beef over fried rice, noodles, and steamed vegetables. The high school aged cashier/countergirl was disinterested and had the personality of a cardboard. She acted like she did not want to be there. Suffice to say, I pressed the "no tip" button when I paid for the meal. read more

I've been here a few times! I'm glad they're still open here at the mall. When I do come, I always order the Yakitori combo with noodles and get a spam musubi. My kids really enjoy the teriyaki bowl and the food portions are good and well worth the price. The noodles are flavorful and satisfying! I haven't had any issues with service, and the ambience is your typical mall food court setting. There's always plenty of space to sit and eat. read more

Considering that it's a food court Japanese food. The mild ramen we ordered with eggs are pretty darn good. We also ordered pre-made california rolls. Service was fantastic, the sweet lady even brought our food out to our table. The eating area is very clean and they keep up well. I know there's not much option at this food court, but this place is worth the try. read more

Tokyo Grill - Mild ramen and California roll. - Japanese Near Me - Chula Vista, California

Awesome Japanese food..ordered the triple bento box and the serving is perfect so as the food and my always ordered the Udon bowl and it reminded her of our time in Okinawa. James is an awesome host so as the others they're friendly and very accommodating. The ambiance is awesome too with option to eat alfresco style. We been coming back to this place because we like not just the food but also the price. read more

I came here for the first time today, I ordered tempura what I got was super greasy, no flavor. It was awful.

I had an hour to kill before my hair appointment and decided to have dinner here. The food was tasty for a fast food joint. Although some of the noodles were a little hard it was still good. The chicken meal comes with noodles, fried rice and veggies. Drizzle a little soy sauce and delicioso. The service was acceptable and I can hear them cooking my food as soon as it was put in. Two thumbs up from me! read more

Located at the Otay Ranch Mall "food court" . The employees are nice and the prices are very good. My kid loves Spam Musubi, and they're basically overpriced no matter where you go. But here they are standard and only $1.99. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. The sauce is mild in flavor, but okay. My other kid got ramen. Don't expect anything fancy, their ramen seems to be the kind you can make at home in 5 minutes with some green onion added to it, and it's exactly what my kid wanted so I can't complain. Also got their California roll which tasted fresh. Overall, the food is just okay and priced appropriately. read more

Great place in the mall, located in the food court, but much better than food court food. Huge Porsches, and very tasty.

Girl with pink sweater, doesnt wanna work there. Slammed my spam masubis on the table and didnt respond to any of my thank yous.

The service was nice the girl was a very friendly how was undecided what I wanted to eat but there is mixed reviews on the Ramen. And I asked the team member and she said it was her favorite and o e of the most popular things. So that's what I decided to Gaten and I had to add dumplings for $2.50 more and it came with came with green onions but it's definitely like the one you would buy in the store for $.25 it's not a broth all it is is water and add the seasoning to it I would not get it again and I were not recommend it and for the price you can definitely get some really good ramen that comes with eggs and beans sprouts etc and when it only takes 3 mins to get my order a little to fast Then you definitely know it's instant soup :( read more

My family loves coming here. Family owned small business that we love supporting. The food is very delicious and freshly prepared. There is a wide variety of menu items to try and everything that we have had so far, is delicious. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Quick with a smile. Love, the fact that they are still at the mall, And will continue patronizing this wonderful establishment. Five star service call Plus, small business people need to support more. read more

First I want to say thank you to Alexa! She has outstanding customer service! Hope the owners are treating her right! Definitely a gem of a human being (: The place has some seating inside and lots more outside since it's attached in the shopping center. Parking is shared with the mall and its big! They have really good pricing! I got the house combo I think it's called? It came with orange chicken, chicken teriyaki, veggies, rice, and noodles ! All for about 12 bucks! Now it's not top quality food but it's good. I also got a spam-missubi for about $2 bucks good size, again not the best quality but it okay for mall food. Overall a cool place definitely worth a try if you're in the area (: read more

I have to say it was definitely not my favorite ramen. It wasn't bad but there was very little flavor to it and not many other ingredients in the ramen beside the chicken. A positive is this place is pretty cheap! I also got a California roll and spam masubi which I have no complaints about! The lady working at the register was super nice and helpful! read more

Came here for the Tuesday $6 sushi roll deal. Cashiers were friendly, immediately asked if we needed any help. The meal was pretty fulfilling. Since it was a to-go order, the sauce was left in a separate container so the tempura crunch stays crunchy. Dragon roll was decent, too. As for the baked salmon roll, it's still a good deal for the price I paid. However, if this is how they make their baked salmon roll normally, it's a little bit different than other places we're used to. Don't forget to ask for ginger (& wasabi)! read more

They serve instant ramen. The person working the front was very nice. But the ramen, not ramen.

The katsu here is DELISH! It's also well priced and located in the food court which has ample seating and is relatively relaxing. They also have fried noodles that are BOMB. I would recommend this place for sure! read more

You know when you eat something that was made with love and your like wow, yesssss I feel the love and you just can't wait to take another bite!? Welp if your looking for that this place was definitely not it and lacking in the tastebud love department:( sadly. I came here on a quick break for lunch during work and the order took about 15 minutes. The gentleman who was cashiering was friendly and professional and knew the menu well when asking questions. They have a range of food from sushi, fried rice, pho, ramen, chicken and shrimp meals. I ordered the tempura shrimp and veggies with a side order of fried rice. Both the items were pretty mediocre. Needed lots of soy sauce and sauce I don't usually use that much of on my food. The veggies were undercooked so I didn't finish them. The rice was also ehhh. Overall my experience here was just ok. read more

My husband & I were on a date last night (a Saturday) & decided to catch a movie. Before the movie, we had time to grab a bite to eat at the food court. Hubby wanted hotdog on a stick (classy, I know), & I wanted Mexican. Well we get to the food court & the Mexican restaurant was closed - at 7pm on a weekend?! UGH WTF. But that's besides the point. My husband told me to go try out Tokyo grill, he had eaten there before & liked it. I grumpily said, "They're not going to have anything I like!" & begrudgingly walked into Tokyo Grill. I'm so glad I did!!! Not only did they have EXACTLY what I wanted (a chicken teriyaki roll - I kid you not, I only eat sushi w beef or chicken - THEY HAD BOTH ), but they also had the kindest customer service!!! Gave me extra eel sauce at no charge & made friendly conversation. The sushi was perfect, I'm SO happy to know this place exists so close to my house, it will definitely be a regular spot for me when I'm craving a sushi fix! Tokyo Grill - thank you so much for having a non-seafood option. It's so hard to find these days! But because you have this, you are my top spot for sushi!!! THANK YOU. read more

We came here for the second time (this time for dinner) on a Thursday evening. We chose to eat here out of convenience since we needed to eat at the mall. We ordered: -Bento that included teriyake salmon ($.50 more), tempura (one shrimp, a sweet potato and a veggie), one piece of California roll, and salad (~$9.50) -Hawaiian roll: CA roll topped with raw tuna ($8.49) -Kids meal that includes teriyake chicken, yakisoba noodles, fried rice (pretty good portions) and a Capri Sun or 12oz. fountain drink We had to ask for sauce for the tempura and wasabi for the roll and low sodium soy sauce is not available. The place is dimly lit and feels slightly dirty, but the food is decent and reasonably priced. read more

I came here cause I was hungry. I was looking at the menu above the wall as you enter. I got a #9 which consists of fried rice, noodles, a full chicken cut up in pieces, two pieces of shrimp tempura and a salad. The noodles and fried rice were good. Chicken was flavorful as it had teriyaki sauce on it but chicken was a little tough. The shrimp tempura was good and hot. Salad consisted of cabbage, carrots and broccoli. I also got a medium raspberry iced tea. All this costs me $11 and some change. It was totally not worth that much for a meal that was packed with food in a styrofoam container. They had seating inside and outside. The lady working here was nice. It's your typical mall food but it was enough to satisfy my hunger for food. They also sell ramen. Maybe I will get that next time I am here. read more

Perfect place to get simple Philadelphia rolls and crunch rolls. I'm usually at this mall on tuesdays for the farmer's market. And this is the only store I'll go to eat if I'm hungry. Everything else is too over priced too out of the way to drive. Staff here are very friendly and welcoming. There was a middle aged lady working at the register. She also makes the sushis. For a fast food place, this place makes bomb sushis! My crunchy rolls always tasted amazing :) my boyfriend loves em too. I would recommend this place to you if you were looking for a quick delicious food in otay mall. read more

I stopped here on the way out of shopping one day at OTRTC. I saw that this place offered take out sushi. On a whim, I decided to order the philly rolls. I wasn't expecting much to be honest. However, when I got home and ate the sushi, it was surprisingly good and the philly cream cheese was fresh. I've eaten sushi before around the corner for take out from Bento and Noodles. Comparing the two, I may have to order my philly rolls from this place from now on. I haven't tried the other sushi here yet, but will have to sometime down the road. This place also serves traditional Asian dishes like fried rice, orange chicken, stir fried noodles, and so forth. Its in the food pavilion of Otay Ranch mall, and I will definitely stop here again for another order of philly rolls. read more

I tried Tokyo Grill when I was very hungry, and it was pretty good...but only because I was very hungry. The chicken with the chicken /shrimp combo wasn't very tasty - they should teriyakize it. The shrimp tempura was decent, kind of overcooked. The fried rice using the rice from previous day was okay. Noodles and veggies also okay. Everything okay - nothing special, that would make me crave it as I would food that sensationalizes my taste buds. Price is decent. Final verdict - if this shrimp tempura / chicken combo plate were to be graded, it's like a C+ / B- read more

Awesome service and great food! I'm not a simple customer when it comes to sushi. They had no problem taking my order and doing it well. On top of how awesome the rolls are, they take customer service seriously and they handle customers much better than other places that I've seen around SD. You would think that with great food and service comes a high price. Not from this place. It was actually cheaper than anywhere else I've had in the area. As long as I'm in the area, I know where I'll head for sushi every time. read more

It definitely something. so overpriced. A worked stole a dollar from me and my hungry sister. We were just trying to eat in peace. We couldn't even do that because I kept hearing this girl constantly sneezing every 2 seconds. Anyways tbh it was decent but definitely NOT worth the price. Will never come here again. Jk I'm fat and will probably be back tmr. But I'll never get over that one dollar. To that worker who stole it I hope someone does it to u and takes double read more

I come here at least once a week for spicy ramen. The presentation may not be as fancy as some other ramen spots but there's just something about the taste that leaves me wanting more. The broth is actually spicy, not crazy painful to eat spicy, but just spicy enough to give it that kick I crave now and then. The noodles are the perfect texture. I'm a big fan of maruchan and instant ramen noodles because I prefer my noodles on the softer side. The noodles here are just as soft and so much fun to slurp. Everything is so quick and affordable, making it very easy to splurge. The staff is also incredibly friendly, big smiles all day long. I usually order ahead of time via phone call so I have the number saved to my contact list! For a mall with such a small food court, this place is an absolute gem. Please never stop what you're doing! read more

Smart that this place takes advantage of the farmer's market/bazaar. They have a Tuesday special on sushi for $5 rolls & ramen that is $1 off. Their sushi is taste decent, but it is cheaper than the food deals that are in the farmers market area. I tried their: - Philadelphia Roll: basic roll but if you love cream cheese, they put a generous amount. It can be toned down with their white pickled ginger -dynamite roll: baked scallop with mozzarella cheese on top. Its on the heavy and slight creamy side -salmon roll: heavy on the sauce, hardly can taste the salmon, but may satisfy your appetite Service: the chick at the cash register was super nice and friendly. They are quick also with putting food out. read more
