Winner winner! I found my acai bowl in the South Bay! My favorite is in Senior Mangoes in North Park but it's too far now and parking is too hard. I've been looking for a place that has the simplest acai bowl with the classic toppings. Bananas, strawberry, mangoes, granola, coconut flakes and honey. Nice little shop with plenty of parking, and sweet ladies behind the counter, I'm coming again!

**February 2024: Monday Morning Visit** I hadn't eaten a lot of fruits and veggies on this San Diego trip so when I saw this little shop down the street I decided to pay them a visit. The store is really colorful on the inside and there were a couple of chairs/tables for patrons to dine in. I was very curious to try their chamango and other Mexican treats, but I was thirsty so I opted for a fresh made to order smoothie. I ordered a medium Passion Berry $6.30 which was a mix of all things berries (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries) and my friend got a medium Dragon Fruit (with strawberry/bananas) $7.30 (premium drink). The order was prepared quickly and it tasted bomb. If I'm in the neighborhood I would be happy to come back!

Update 2024 Pacific Fruit Bar is located in Arch Plaza off of Broadway in Chula Vista, California. Yeah, right next to the infamous Chop Shop barber. An authentic fruit, sandwich, torta, juice and smoothie eatery. All foods are made while you wait. Everything is good. It's like the hole in the wall that people don't know about until they know about it and it's worth it. Whatever item you get it can comfortably feed two. If you get a drink, at least ask for two straws. TIP: Call ahead of time if you're short on time.

Great customer service and great fruit. Didn't have to wait long at all. Definitely recommend

Açaí bowl

Such sweet staff, reasonable pricing, got a huge açaí bowl for just under $13 and we loved it! Very generous with the toppings and açaí was thick (hate when it's runny). Clean, tidy, and welcoming environment, would definitely come back!

A Hidden Gem for Healthy, Fresh Eats! I recently visited Pacific Fruit Bar with my three-year-old son as we were craving some fruit bowls and smoothies that fit our diet restrictions (no refined sugars). I was hoping to find a local spot to satisfy our cravings, and this place delivered. The menu and setup were a bit overwhelming at first, but the pictures made navigating the options easier. The ambiance isn't anything to rave about, but if you're here for delicious, healthy eats, that's what truly matters. There's some indoor seating, but not much. I did my best to speak Spanish when ordering, but the servers spoke enough English that the communication barrier didn't cause any problems. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We shared a dragon fruit bowl, and you could really taste the difference with the fresh, real ingredients they use. It was fantastic--topped with a generous amount of fresh fruit that made every bite feel vibrant and healthy. The price was also a pleasant surprise: only $12 for a high-quality, delicious bowl. I also grabbed a coconut sorbet bowl to go for a friend and got to sample it before leaving. It was just as delightful as the dragon fruit, with that same freshness you can taste. I plan to come back soon to try more of their bowl flavors--acai, piña colada, passion fruit, & matcha. I'm also eager to try their food options. Definitely recommend if you're looking for healthy, fresh, and tasty options without breaking the bank!

Tried this place for the first time and I'm gonna add it to my list for açaí spots. Stumbled upon it as me and my bf were craving an açaí bowl and everbowl was closed lol. Their açaí bowls are one size but you still get a decent amount. They come with strawberry, banana, mango, coconut, honey, and granola :)

i was craving a smoothie and this was soooo goooood!!! so fresh & natural and great price for how much you get. i would definitely come back:)

I had plans to go to Rosarito for the weekend, but it was cancelled due to the 'high risk' travel advisory. I was really craving a cup of nieve de garrafa like you would get crossing the border back. I decided to stop at this fruit bar since we've been here before (for an açaí bowl). I came in with hopes that they would have the nieve or something similiar. I asked what the difference between a chamango, mangonada, and a diablito. The lady said the chamango is more smoothie like, mangonada is more like a raspado, and the diablito is made with nieve. DING DING DING! Exactly what I was looking for, I was so excited! It came out perfect and the nieve itself had so much flavor! Definitely will be back!!!

So good! Everything tastes fresh Tostilocos We also had their Biónico which comes with fresh fruit and yogurt.

Trying to find a Chamango in the Bay Area is hard enough (we have Mangonadas, which are similar, but different). I figured since I was in San Diego, there would be more places around me that had it. After checking on Yelp, I found one. And with 5 stars! I was skeptic, but still wanted to give it a shot. Luckily, it was also down the street from Tacos El Gordo, which is one of my usual stops when I come back home to visit. The place is in a small strip mall. There are a few tables inside (but no public bathroom). The counter and kitchen is all sealed off, with just a small window to place your order and to pick up your order. The menu is actually fairly big with a lot of choices to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Of course I went with the Chamango, and I even went with the large. Glad I did. Not only was it huge, but it was THE BEST Chamango I've ever had. It was super smooth and it tasted really fresh. It had the perfect amount of chamoy and seasoning. They also chopped up fresh mangoes and put it on the top, so when I was done with the smoothie, I had a nice treat of mango chunks. My only complaint is that they need an extra large size! LOL! Lastly, the ladies who work there are super duper nice! As busy as it gets, they are always super friendly. Definitely, one of my first stops when I come back to San Diego!

Hidden gem. They have great tortas de lomo. Not deli sliced lomo, but juicy shredded lomo. Mango agua is sooo good. Their fruit salad is worthy of 5 stars on its own.

I go to coffee shops in search of good studying locations. I enjoy a nice drink with a small breakfast or pastry. They only had two options for food. A plain bagel with cream cheese or a breakfast sandwich. The applewood bacon sandwich was really good. The spot itself was calm. However, the chairs were really uncomfortable. I would not recommend if you have wider hips. The booth tables had better seating options, but the tables were very low. I had to move locations because the outlet closest to the window did not work. Overall, the food was okay and the vibe was calm. One thing I would like to add is the customer service was fine however, the employees were really loud and obnoxious talking among themselves. Cussing repeatedly and talking about intimate life situations.

The overall experience (staff, variety/availability, drink quality) was incredibly disappointing because I hear great things about this place. There were quite a bit of people in there, so I'm sure it's great at times. Settling for the Vietnamese Iced Coffee as 1 of our 2 drinks, sadly it was mostly ice. The drink was done in a few sips. It felt like the cup was filled with ice and then put the coffee in. Don't get me wrong, the drink was good and the coffee was strong. The other drink was the Creme Brulee Latte. If you like the sugar un-bruleed, this is the drink for you. I saw the top was torched for a few seconds, but the drink was still in the tiny sugar crystals. The coffee part is also nice and strong, though the drink is not as sweet as it sounds. Overall, lack-luster and expensive for the $7.60 - Large.

The store is super cute and tiny, but there's a few spots to sit and work. It's true what the other reviews say, this place is overwhelmed with the smell of cinnamon desserts! So tempting and delicious. I opted for a regular latte with oat milk. It was very smooth, lightly roasted, and balanced. It is exactly how i like my coffee! I like that Goldchild Coffee Roasters has their own character and way of operating compared to the newer shops that have been appearing. This coffee spot is known to put more care and create an experience for the people that come in and with the quality that came to me-- I'm really grateful because it felt like I was getting my moneys worth! I didn't see any specialty drink (you know like lattes with delicious syrups). So, I decided to get an Iced Latte. They mentioned that their iced drinks don't come with ice-- it's shaken! I really liked this aspect because I could walk for hours and my drink wouldn't get watered down at all! The to go cup actually felt really heavy when I compared it to my friend's matcha. It was interesting as it was just a cold plain latte-- something in the way they extracted the drink must have made it really full bodied! The latte was smooth, well balanced (ratio of milk), and the flavor of the espresso really came through. It was beautiful, really delicious! My friend ordered a Matcha with a little bit of vanilla and he really really enjoyed it. My other friend had the Japan Cold Brew and was mind blown with the flavor as he thought he was just getting a plain ol' cold brew. The owner swung by to check on how things were and told us a little bit about the place and what she recommends we try next time based off our ordering choice. It was very sweet of her and I can't wait to come by next time! I really wanted to order "for here," but time didn't let me, so that's def for next visit as well. Next time, I'll try "Numbers" Latte or their most popular, "Morning in Stockholm," these two were recommended by the owner! She mentioned these flavors are also good with the matcha. I heard great things about their pastries as well, which I will be ordering next (: highly recommend Goldchild Coffee Roasters!
