You've gotta check this place out! Total surprise! I did not expect this gem in downtown Van Wert…read more This is something I'd expect in a much larger city. Great food. Great location. Great ambiance. Great service. I came in around 7pm and requested the outdoor seating. I was seated promptly. There was also plenty of seating available inside. The menu has a surprisingly broad selection. So refreshing to see a menu that goes far beyond bar food. Ahi Tuna, Cuban panini, Shrimp Tacos! And more. This is not what I'd expect from small town America. However, if you are searching for bar food, you won't be disappointed! Charcuterie board; Loaded Tots; Loaded Onion Rings; Flatbreads; Sandwiches; Handhelds served on Naan bread; Pastas; Salads; Kids menu; Deserts; Draft beers; Full bar. I ordered the steak bites w/ onions and mushrooms and the fried Brussels sprouts. Both are on the "Sharables" list. As I waited I ordered an amber beer. Solid selection of draft beers. My order was delivered about 10 minutes later. The food was tasty (well seasoned & to the temperature I requested) and plated well. Well done Chef! If you come on the weekend (Friday or Saturday) be ready to hear the hum (occasional roar) of "cruising" on Main Street Van Wert. For me that was nostalgic. Lastly, to make for an even more memorable experience, I had the pleasure of catching up with a local treasure and former classmate! Thank you JW! I am proud of you and am honored to call you my friend. If you come to Van Wert, be sure to stop at The Edition. You wont be disappointed!

You don't expect a lot from fast food. You do,though, expect it to be timely, hot, and edible…read more Alas, this particular Wendy's doesn't know this. I tried them out early this year and did not have a good experience but i let it go. I do try to give local places a second try as anyone/any business can have a bad day. Unfortunately, i had an even worse experience recently. Earlier this week, i ordered from Doordash. I noticed the food was taking longer than the usual order but let it go. Quite a while later, my Doordash delivery driver Shane knocked on the door to give me food. Normally they just leave it at the door but he warned the food may be cold and talked about his experience. Now i want to preface this by saying Shane has delivered quite a large number of Doordash orders to my house. Its a small town so not surprising you see the same names again and again. He said that they made him wait for his order and took care of all the other drive thru customers that came after him first. They did this simply because they are measured on those customers and not Doordash. Not sure where he got this info, but i saw red when I heard this. When they came and gave the food, they realized they missed on on the burgers ordered. So he had to wait for them to make it and bring it out... only to then realize they also forgot to get my iced vanilla latte. I tried the food... would you be surprised it was cold? Food was inedible... as per mom her chili was watery and cold. Her baked potato was awful. I could go on. The worst was the iced coffee. It tasted like someone rushed and grabbed some old coffee they had brewed and then put ice in it. Its a shame really because i do like the brands baconator and spicy nuggets.

Usually when that's the case, it's a great place to eat. Slow service... super slow service. Place is kinda dark for me. The food was bland and lack luster. I had the daily special on a Sunday which was Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and peppered white gravy. Gravy was the only thing with taste in the meal and unfortunate not enough was given. Mashed potatoes were cold. Only part of the meal I enjoyed was the Coca Cola I drank. Like I said, disappointing.
