Normally i would write this review a few weeks from now as I have other places to review that i went to before The Edition. I am reviewing this place early for two reasons: 1) My friend Deniece said I should on my check in to this place, and i said I would 2) This place is amazing!!!!! I will say I have been waiting months for The Edition to open. The owners of The Edition also own Collins Fine Foods in town, a wonderful Deli/Liquor Store that I go to quite frequently. When they told me they were going to be creating a wine bar/restaurant, i was immediately interested. I came to The Edition first on Wednesday with a number of my coworkers, we were a group of 6. We just had dinner somewhere else in town and we decided to have a little after dinner drinks. About half of us ordered beers, the other half ordered cocktails. I ordered a cocktail called The Press, which is Makers Mark Bourbon, simple syrup and bitters. I Loved It! The two other ladies who ordered cocktails had The Caliper. This drink is made with raspberry vodka, cranberry juice, simple syrup, lemon juice and fresh raspberries. I am not a fruity drink person, but even I think it looked good. They certainly sung its praises. Should have taken a picture of it... oh well... anyway my coworkers and I had a great time there! We drank, talked, laughed... just a fun night! I did notice during the night, the food they were serving and it looked very appetizing. I decided to come back with my family on the weekend. I just got back from eating/drinking with them tonight. We ordered some appetizers including some spinach artichoke dip. Cant really say if it was good or not my mother and brother ate that... i mostly was focused on The Loaded Tots. Those tots were delish!!! We all drank alcohol. My brother ordered a beer flight, my mother had a pina colada slushie. She raved about that slushie! I decided to try another cocktail and ordered The Mezzanine. It is a drink made with Tito's Vodka, St. Elder Liquor, Lillet Blanc, Lemon, and Prosecco. It went down smooth... and i can tell you i will have more when I come back. For our main courses my brother had the Whiskey BBQ Burger, while my mother and I both ordered Cuban Sandwiches. The burger according to my brother ended up on his top 10 burgers he has eaten, high praise from him. When it comes to the Cuban Sandwich... yeah it was finger lickin good! Is it 100% authentic? No. I am from Miami, I know authentic Cubanos. But, thats only because the bread is not Cuban bread. Nevertheless, the bread is tasty... and the rest of the Cubano here is authentic. They definitely nailed the pork in the sandwich perfectly! Its the best Cubano i have eaten outside of Florida. So i would recommend eating it. A great meal, needs to end with dessert. We shared some vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate chip cookies. Nice, simple and delicious! You can get this dessert with sea salt caramel cookies, which is something I will do in the future. I also have to compliment this place on its decor. It is open and inviting. There is both an inside eating area as well as an outside eating area which is right next to the small urban park we have in the city called The Garden of the Senses. I will try eating in the outdoor area next time I come. I have nothing but praise for The Edition! I am so happy and proud to have such a good bar in town! If you are in Van Wert County, come by! Heck if your in Lima or Fort Wayne... come to the Edition! It is well worth the drive!

Great new spot in Van Wert. I would say food was good, but sure it will be great in time when they work out the kinks. Service was much better on my second visit. I do understand wait staff is in high demand, but I sat at the bar, so should not have taken quite so long to be served and receive my food. It's worth a try!

Visited this beautifully restored old location with two friends. Bar was wide open and an old mirrored bar back adds nicely to the total experience. We were immediately greeted and seated. Menu has great selection of new to try and old favorites. Prices were very reasonable for the size of portions. We enjoyed the fried mozzarella cheese bites and brussel sprouts prepared in a delicious way. I had a Ruben, my friends each ate a chicken salad and nice mac and cheese .We shared a slice of peanut butter pie! We will be back

Get here early, if you don't want to be waiting....this place is pretty popular. We arrived shortly after 4pm, and chose to eat on the patio. The staff was all so friendly, and even the Manager or owner stopped by our table to ask how everything was. We had been following this place thru their FB page and ordered their Bavarian style pretzel with beer cheese, caramel apple wine slushies and Flatbread pizza. It was all great; atmosphere, staff and food. The place was immaculate, casual dress, and nice options on the menu. Such a nice gem in Van Wert, I will definitely plan another trip back.

Loaded tater tots and shrimp tacos.

Restaurant staff were condescending and rude. Food was over priced and mediocre. Don't waste your time or $$$ this place is horrible!

Walked in the place was maybe 20% full and the hostess made us wait 10 minutes before she bothered to tell us that they were full

318 Restaurant & Bar - Toasted ravioli with marinara...so good!

I started with a gummy bear cocktail, which was just like drinking a strawberry Jolly Rancher. Then my date & I were served toasted ravioli as our appetizer... they were perfect! Crispy on the outside, soft & tasy on the inside. The marinara complimented the ricotta and breaded pasta well. For my meal, I had some yummy fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. I was very pleased. My curly fried potato wedges (don't call them curly fries!) were crisp on the outside & soft inside. I really enjoyed them. My side of fruit & side salad with balsamic vinaigrette were fine, neither great nor terrible. My fiancé had some delicious chili, though it was cold when served. Out waitress obliged our request to reheat it & when it came back out, it was just right. The cornbread was moist, sweet, and "cakey." I'm from North Carolina &, let me just say, the cornbread was some of the best I've had in ages. The chicken sandwich was good. We ordered some cinnamon caramel pretzel bites (like cinnamon sugar balls) to go & I can attest that they didn't last long the next day when they were warmed up. Overall, this was a nice meal in a quaint Ohio downtown. Should we return to Lima, we'll stop in at 318 again!

They have a very short suite menu, but what I had was terrific I had a a salad with salmon on it and a lot of other veggies. It was terrific. The salmon was jerk, salmon, and the whole thing was a delicious repast. We had a appetizer of a couple bowls of their homemade chips. Unlike many places that don't salt them. These were salted just the right amount not too salty and I can't say anything bad about it. Our server was terrific and his name was Alex and the place is shaping up. I guess they just took it over from someplace else. The walls are a little bit bare needs a little more decoration and the ceiling is bare, but the chairs are very comfortable so it's an easy five star.

I joined my family there for dinner at 7pm on a Saturday night. They were seated , when I arrived , at a table in the middle of the room that sat all 5 of us very uncomfortably. When I sat down I was literally touching backs with the person behind me and neither of us we obese or needing more room than expected for a a guest at a table. So after physically moving our table and trying to position it to a spot where we were not touching anyone else, it was time to order cocktails. We waited 15 mins ( okay it was more like 9) and when you are thirsty that seems like an eternity. When our waitress finally arrive to take our order she was extremely rude and seemed annoyed by our presence. The drinks came eventually and my sister in laws was incorrect. She told the server who then snatched it off the table without a word and walked away. She returned a short time later with the same wrong drink and said it was right and sat it back down. My sister in law, not wanting to make an issue out of it decided not to push the issue any further and took the drink she didn't order. We ordered several appetizers Chicago style oysters and Lobster Mac and cheese were amazing and the complimentary corn bread was also delicious . I ordered a small filet and Brussels sprouts , this was my second time trying filet the first time was terrible. My plate came out so hot you couldn't touch it and you could tell my plate had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. My steak was dry and overcooked ( probably from sitting in the kitchen window to long) and the Brussels were mushy and just ok.

Our party of four ordered four different drinks - and then everyone so much loved their choice, we all reordered the exact same drink for round two. I'd give the bar list and bartender 5 stars. We sampled 3 different flatbreads. Two of them lacked flavor, one was not crispy, but very undercooked. I've seen this complaint more than a few times in reviews so it seems like something they'd address. Snack mix was good. Crostini delicious. Salad nice - although one small piece of avocado on what was billed as an avocado and blackberry salad was a disappointment. I'd rate the food 3 stars. No, it's RoHo's, as in the first two letters of the owners' names: Rogers and Howell. Clever! When I visited RoHo's, the place was hopping. It was comedy night, and I could barely find a seat. I ended up sitting on a couch with three women I didn't know, but they were people who were beautiful and amazing, and did amazing things in the community. I lucked out! The service here is so efficient and friendly. Despite the crush of people, I managed to get my French 77 quickly. It was well balanced and very tasty, and made me feel so much better about being surrounded by strangers. Mostly, though, RoHo's specializes in martinis. The entrance to RoHo's is unassuming, so you might miss it if you're not looking sharp. So, look sharp!
