This place is...interesting, in a good way. When I was told I was going out of town for a work…read moreevent in West Virginia and this was the name of the place. I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.

There's a gentleman here (maybe owner, maybe manager?) that is incredibly attentive. Checking in and wiping tables, taking orders, moving from the front counter to the pizza counter, offering a hand to other staff, etc. this man himself deserves some recognition because you can see the time and effort he puts into not only customers but the business and the staff present. Food is so yummy. Wings (not pictured) are crispy and the butter Cajun dry rub was quite tasty. Took the gal at the front desks suggestions and got the chopped cheese (pictured). WOW, not what I had in mind for a whole in the wall in WV but was so worth it. Support local who supports local

Down home, hand made, and darn good are my association with the Frozen Barn…read more After a weekend of physical exertion in mother nature it was time to indulge in a sweet treat! When it comes to ice cream I mean business. I insisted to my friends that we be careful to weed out options that serve any of that generic Hersheys stuff. Ultimately, we journeyed towards the Frozen Barn. The interior resembles the belly of a whimsical cow. The store offers an incredible variety of flavors and cones. I couldn't decide on just one flavor so I settled upon unlikely bedfellows, "Marion Blackberry" and "Anniversary Cake," inside of a chocolate waffle cone! I've never seen a chocolate waffle cone before! I'm not talking dipped, I'm talking chocolate. The "Marion blackberry" flavor was out of this world. The staff were very generous with samples and indulged me as I sampled second choice contenders such as "Cow Tippin," "Carolina Peach," and "'Michigan Pot Hole." Visiting The Stashe in Fayetteville…read more While visiting the ring shop in Fayetteville, we stopped by The Stashe next door. We were in West Virginia with family and our dog, and were happy to see they offer a pup cup for dogs. I went with the Blue Panda after some deliberation, but also sampled the Dark Chocolate Raspberry--both were excellent. Portions are generous for the price, and even though my cup looked small, it was still a great bang for the buck. Here's what we had: * Pistachio (cone) * Blue Panda (cup) * Cappuccino Crunch (cup) * Pup Cup (for our dog) Every flavor was delicious, and we'd definitely come back when visiting Fayetteville and the surrounding West Virginia area.

Tasty ice cream in Fayetteville!…read more This shop shares a space/doubles as a restaurant ("The Take Out"). Parking is a little tight since it's downtown but we made it out okay. There's a little bit of outdoor seating and a few tables inside but it's mostly to-go. They serve Hershey's brand ice cream and have a large selection, including sugar free and dairy free options! The space is very cute and has lots of fun stickers/posters/decor. Service was fast and friendly! I wasn't wowed by the flavor selection -- it didn't super suit my preferences -- but we did come at the end of the day at the end of the week, so I certainly could've had better luck at a different time. We all wound up with Moose Tracks (vanilla base, fudge ribbon, peanut butter cups) and it was enjoyable, like all Moose Tracks! We were happy and it was a nice way to round out our time in WV. If you're looking for a treat, this is a good option!

Visiting from out of town and stopped by for lunch…read more Sandwich and salad were delicious and well portioned; I only finished half my sandwich before getting full! The salad was simple with greens, cherry tomatoes and dressing; just the right amount of dressing, wasn't too soggy or dry. I think it was a house balsamic, on the sweeter side rather than tangy, which I preferred. Was not busy when we first got there but picked up around 1p for lunch time. Got our food in about 10 minutes. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. There's also a little market with local goods that you can shop for while you're waiting. (The eggs looked especially large and fresh!) The turkey sandwich was sooo tasty and they let me add spinach to it as well. The added greens and the red onion that it comes with are fresh and give the sandwich a nice crunch. Sandwich was sauced on both sides and overall a truly enjoyable meal.
